For 2 years after my divorce I had a rough time adjusting. Now 3 years later I am so happy and content I can not believe it! I will never tie myself down to a woman again, never. It is pure bliss.

Meeting someone at a bar was technically still possible, but it was someone you met at a bar. And even then, it was uncommon. It is way, WAY worse today; but yeah it's been bad for a long time.

Yes, life for young males today is not so great as it should be. When finding a good woman a young man today has almost no choices. As an old Boomer, women were feminine and desirable in my youth. However young men were drafted and sent overseas to fight a stupid war against Asian people that did not threaten their American homeland About 60 thousand died and tens of thousands were maimed for life in a war that was lost. So your life today is so much better as you don't have to die for a horrible cause. Those returning vets were spat upon and hated when they returned even though they were drafted. They also worked longer hours to make more money to care for family and meet wife’s expensive appetite. No wife/family means men can live small and work less. Men working less means less value created means less opportunities for women to join things and make money by proxy. People spending far less in general means businesses failing. Businesses failing means communities depreciating. Communities depreciating means crime. Crime means danger. Danger is usually staved off by good men who have incentive to risk self for community. To call what’s coming a depression would really be insanely generous.

The broader change/ root of the change in men is a result of the change in Women since the mid 2000s. A rallying of women on social media banding together over topics like "Toxic Masculinity" "Manspreading" "Mansplaning" "Male Violence against women" just as a couple of examples, yes those behaviors aren't desirable but they also do not stem from the majority of men rather a tiny minority. In my opinion, the influencer culture of the last 10 years or so has brainwashed societies young women to look particularly at straight white men as the personification of those labels mentioned previously. Funnily enough the MGTOW movement shows that there are a growing group of men who are actually choosing to focus on their own goals, rather than to put energy into dating which is currently fraught with these negative and often false attitudes. Disclaimer, I'm 40 and thankfully dated and built a successful relationship and family with my wife before this current era. Is it that women are more masculine or entitled? My experience has been the demand for princes treatment has gone up 1000%. You need to pay for their lifestyle. I mean, one of my entitled cousins calls herself a divine feminine. No man is good enough for her.
I can see why women have a hard time controlling themselves. They have the value of beauty and youth from the start while men have to earn it through time and effort. So they party and sleep around when they're young and settle down with someone they don't love for stability.
