Our celebration of advent continues into its second week as we look at this idea of peace. Isn't it true that peace is so much a part of our cultural dialogue - we're looking for peace in our world, we're looking for peace in our relationships, and we're even looking for peace within ourselves? But what if this peace that we're looking for in these areas can actually only be seen as a result of a much deeper and much more profound peace?
I think you already know what I'm suggesting. This weekend we have the privilege to consider the greatest peacemaking effort ever. Namely, the greatest peace that is found in Jesus Christ and his work upon the cross for our sins. We’re going to see that when we recognize and savor this great truth, real and lasting peace begins to flood into and then out of our lives and to our relationships and our world. Because Jesus has arrived so too has peace!
