In this life in France video of life in France with a house with a lake I show you how our new Jotul wood-burning stove was installed as part of life in France in 2024.
I had a Jotul wood-burning stove at my old house in Brittany and was surprised to find that this new house did not have a wood-burning stove despite being surrounded by its own woodland.
We have at least 50 trees on the ground or that are standing dead, so have an endless supply of firewood along with future planting of new trees.
So it was of to a local Jotul fire shop to buy a new wood burning stove.
Jøtul is a Norwegian limited company that manufactures cast iron stoves and fireplaces and is known for its robust and quality wood burning stoves and considered top of the range with a 25-year guarantee on its cast iron wood burning stoves.
With my Jotul wood burning stove I went the extra mile on price by buying the dearer option of buying the stove in cream rather than black - I had hoped to buy a red stove but in the Jotul catalogue only black or cream stoves were available to buy.
Now although I bought a quality wood-burning stove the company that sold me the stove and did the installation was in my eyes very mediocre and let the quality of Jotul down.
In this video I show how the jotul wood burning stove was installed in my French home.
