I watched this CNBC documentary about Mariupol, where they interviewed a female soldier from Azov battalion that was captured when Azovstal fell, and she was released a year ago as part of the prisoners exchange - the main theme is that Mariupol was "better" before Russia conquered Mariupol. The comments section on the video is closed, so we can't put a counter-argument in the video. It just shows you how the propaganda in the western mainstream media works. You on the other hand is doing a much better work than those clowns in the mainstream media. Keep up the good work!

Not to mention that the city is not that far from the main frontline, still within reach of those long range NATO rockets, yet Russia keeps rebuilding it. As for the original population, most of them flew to mainland Russia, if you have been watching this channel you would've known.

Mariupol was less than 33% ethnic Russians before the russian fascists ethnically cleansed the area, and they faced almost zero discrimination except from the Moscow nazis who bockaded the Sea of Azov for 8 years, and in 2022, finally destroyed the city.

All of the cities from Odessa to Kharkiv including Mariupol are all Russian founded cities. Those territories have been part of Russia longer than the US has been an independent nation, and they only became part of the Socialist Soviet Republic of Ukraine in the 20th century when they were given by the communist during the years of the Soviet Union to administer. You need to open a history book before posting all this nonsense. No one has cleanse anything, the people in those territories voted in a free and democratic referendum to rejoin the Russian Federation, that's why you see no riots or disturbances anywhere, they want NOTHING to do with Ukraine, and neo-Nazis put in power in 2014, that's why every time those cities are liberated by the Russian armed forces, they are welcome with open arms.

Interesting to see that damaged panelkas are repaired with brick walls. It would be nice if the outer walls remained exposed, to show this contrast, and also serve as memory of what the city went through before its ongoing renaissance.
that's actually a cool idea, it could be a sort of an art project. but they won't do it. the pace of reconstruction is just very high for them to think of such details.

Most residential >5 story construction in the West today has paper thin vinyl cladding over very light vapor barriers interior sealed with 1/2" sheet rock. Most post WWII western construction would be flatten to the ground by the beating Mariupol experienced. Those buildings shown have strong bones.

Greetings from New Zealand. I saw a video 4 months ago showing how the Russian president had been rebuilding the Annexed regions of Ukraine and it was indeed impressive. So very glad for the people of Mariupol for their strength and courage to see their city rebuilt, hopefully leading to a better quality of life and normality considering all they had to endure leading to Russia's SMO. Regardless of the politics, I’m very impressed they could make that amount of building and construction in one year. Here in California we couldn’t even get the committees together in that time.
