Jim travels to the first lady's hometown of Sevnica, Slovenia, where local shop owners are finding creative ways to cash in on all things Trump. Watch more from The Jim Jefferies Show: www.cc.com/shows/the-jim-jeffe...
GICking it's a really weird and stupid quote, but it does present a point. in America, when you get down to it, you can say and do whatever you want, (in theory,) as long as it doesn't impede or take away the rights of others. so for example a racist saying racist shit, they're a dick but they aren't hurting anyone, so whatever. but that same racist stopping a minority from voting or outright killing them is still a gigantic no-no. that said, Trump is on record saying he wouldn't lose a single supporter even if he woke up one day, went into a busy street and shot and murdered a man in cold blood, so who knows, maybe there's some exceptions... (throws hands up.)
"you as a comedian cannot do whatever you want on behalf of freedom of expression" LOL Jim Jeffries is the last person she should of said that to, I feel like he would take that as a challenge
Lightening3034 Fucking Snowflakes. They got triggered so they need a safe space. FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS PART OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT. (Should be in the EUSSR too!) Boy I would have started screaming at her. Of course any comedian can make fun of anybody. I like Reagan but I don't throw a shit-fit when Bill Maher's New Rules come up. The US should have voted for Bernie. Had his problems but he was reasonable. These people? You bring your lawyers because someone put your face on a soap?! Yeah sure you will negotiate a good deal with China, I am sure...
If you're mad because you love Trump, that's fine. But I was just excited that Jim Jefferies, one of my favorite comedians finally got a television show, so i can see more of what I find to be brilliant comedy, played out on the small screen. Not because I enjoy the "Hate on trump" bandwagon. I enjoy his comedy as a person. And in the words of Jim himself, "Fuck off, mate."
Things that remind me of me of Melania. Hand lotion and old meat. That must be a hint that everytime old Don Juan asks for sex, she hands him some lotion and tells him to go beat his old meat. Did you catch the spray painted wall that says "Blow job team" at 3:18? LOL
Tsega Zelalem It is, man. I went up there from Croatia (which looks much the same) and its worth. Granted, it's dirt-cheap to hang out there so it's bound to be.
@@stephjovi Well as a Slovenian, it's a bit disappointing, I mean if you are planning to visit just the capital, then yes, all rails lead to the capital city and in the city itself we have buses, even then Ljubljana is tiny compared to most other capital cities around the world, so for the most part you can walk. The trains can take to other all 4 corners of Slovenia but if you want to see smaller villages, the bus is your only answer.
Oh, ugh you're right. I have a celebrity crush on Jonah, not because of his looks (though I love that beard) but because of his humor and you just killed it sir. You killed my celebrity crush. How could you?
I have a now a more positive opinion of Comedy Central for being smart and giving Jim a chance to show how much he deserves to have his own show. Well done!
I don't want to play devil's advocate but in the European convention, free speech is not absolute. It's a qualified right. the only limits are discrimination and hate speech...not making jokes based on the truth.
@Reg Eric being sued by someone isnt the same as doing something that outright violates the law in the EU. if it was something illigal there wouldnt be the need for someone to sue, the police would go on their own
The lawyer said "freedom of expression", which is not the same as freedom of speech. The term the EU uses is "freedom of opinion", which is almost like freedom of speech, except that what you say has to be true if presented as fact. Freedom of expression has similar limits, notably defamation and slander. But the relevant leal issue here is personality rights (which I think is not the correct official term). Your name and your picture can only be used with your permission. Europe also has a very different culture when it comes to sueing someone. If you sue someone, you can't expect to settle for money. You would only sue if you want someone punished (incarcerated), or to have your rights preserved. Melania has the right to sue people using her name or face without permission, but if she wants to license her likeness for money, she makes that impossible by sueing first. It is different with trademarks. But a trademark has to be registered for something in particular.
@@mk94194 _> european countries dont share a legal system._ The EU member states do. And continental Europe shares a legal tradition. All I've said applies.
Entire Slovenia is that way. Plus safe, universal healthcare, universities with no tuition, NK student debts, good social care. I wouldn't want to live in a shithole you call USA.
As a local I'd just liek to point out that spelling the name Yanas is very wrong. The name is written Janez, though the pronunciation is almost the same. There is no letter Y in Slovenian language. Love Jim Jefferies, thank you for showing a bit of our country!
Encourage and show others how to vote. Get your ballot on time, complete it on time, sign your ballot, complete your ballot and mail your ballot on time. Biden-Harris are not perfect and would not bankrupt our democracy or bury more of our citizens. Vote blue on November 3rd, 2020.
It's so weird seeing my favorite Comedian in my home country. It's kinda sad that they chose to only show the bad/boring parts of Slovenia, but I understand its because of comedic effect haha. :)
natasha the lawyer is so absent from reality, i can easily picture her as secretary of department of commerce in washington dc joking aside, imagine what kind of person would hire a lawyer to go after a jar of honey while being the first lady of the usa
1) There is a difference between a human right, and an absolute human right 2) There are multiple absolute human rights, but the ultimate one, is life. It's in the declaration of Independence, as well as several UN documents
For example in Czech Republic it is not. The denial of Holocaust is forbidden, the defamation / calumny is forbidden, and promotion of movement leading to human rights supression is forbidden. And I think it is OK to have these things forbidden. And of course - you can do all these things if you are comedian or as a satire, but it must be kinda obvious it is satire.
I have to say, they're a lot more switched on in Slovenia than Americans when they do these comedy pieces. They know when they're being made fun of even though it's another country and second language. Whereas Yanks seem so desperate to be on TV that they they act like fools and rarely seem to get that they're the butt of the joke.
This box has not seen a salami in quite some time I take it? lmfao!!!! The the cat on the wall and the comment about being rich, you can do anything, they let you!!!! lmao!!!! Screw nasty, stingy Melania for not wanting to help out the town she grew up in and the hard working families there. The whole thing was epic and man, that lawyer is a c*nt, just like Melania. Love you Jim!
You were in Slovenija? Well welcome again to discover the local music venues and the wineyards (small) and get smashed😂. But the video is the best.🤣 Mrs. Pirc was awesome with her serious response😆 And you Jim Jefferies are one of the best comedians I know!✊
Well Jim Jeffries went unfunny fast.. Making fun of the US's xenophobic president while mispronouncing foreign words and playing the dumb tourist? The guy is doing all the same jokes as everyone else right now, and then goes abroad and does even older jokes about country names and hard to pronounce Slavic words..
well, he's got a show on tv, has a wife who prolly wants a summer house with pool and jacuzzi, a kid to school etc. He's fixed his teeth, his incipient baldness, sobered up, cleaned his act for mainstream tv. Like every other aging rockstar, it seems to me. Nothing particularly surprising.
He had an impromptu stand-up show in Ljubljana (the capital of Slovenia) that weekend and he was anything but sober. The show was same old, same old... Trump. And the constant Slovenia vs Slovakia, which is as stale a joke as a 10-year old beer. A dull, boring and patronising show. Was very disappointed, because I used to find him funny in the pre-Trump days and was really looking forward to the show.
I only read about Jim's Lj show after it was already over, unfortunately. But if you say it wasn't memorable I'm glad I didn't have to drive there from Koper. ;)
