You don't think it's weird to go to happy hour to drink liquor and then you are being obedient to God and doing Bible study? I don't think God wants us to consume liquor and go to happy hour. Happy Hour is such a worldly thing. Maybe try fasting for liquor and bars.

I think by me changing my drinking habits is a step in the right direction , I don’t think I have to become sober to be obedient to God (at least that is not what God is calling me to do at this time ) but I do think cutting back on my alcohol intake is something necessary as the word says do not get drunk with wine , I’m not perfect and I am still finding ways to be obedient and surrender to God 🙏🏿
