My first cousin was half-pinoy and half Canadian and he was raised in Laguna, Philippines from 11 years old. His last name was Kohari. His dad was a Canadian with the last name which is swedish. He married a pinay which was a classmate of his in high school.

Pag ang salita mo ay combination ng English at Tagalog, ang salita mo ay Taglish. Ito yong madalas na salita ng younger generation. Ang mga mestizo at mestiza ay kadalasan puro magaganda. Kaya yung mga pure Filipino nabibighani sila sa itsura nila. Yung mga pure na Filipino at Filipina, brown kasi ang skin . Siyempre naiinggit sila sa kutis ng mga mestizo at mestiza. She is German-Filipina.. not Filipina German because she is from The Philippines with mixed background.. totally integrated, so a 100% Filipino to me.

It is embedded in our Filipino brain that we are the ones always asjusting to others. The give importance to the 'other' . So when we see you adjust for us, it is amazing, thus we get kilig about it. Thanks Jared for teaching us to be more pinoy and even prouder of our language...I live in Baguio

I've noticed many foreigners that marry filipina and either stay there or move back to their country. Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach has a German father. Pia was born in Stuttgart but her family moved to Cagayan de Oro.

May colonial mentality ang karamihan sa Pilipino, parang mas gusto nila ang maputi ang kutis o balat na parang caucasian. Ito ay dahil ang religion na Catholic Christian na dinala ng mga Spanish for more than 300 years sa Pilipinas ay mga white man ang images nila Jesus Christ, Mary at Joseph. Kamukha ng mga Spaniards. At dahil din sila ang naging master ng mga Pilipino kaya ito ang naging gusto nilang gayahin. Lalong nawala ang national identity ng mga Pilipino ng dumating din ang mga Americans noong 1989 hanggang 1946 at sila ang pumalit sa mga Kastila (Spaniards) na parang mas mataas ang kalagayan sa society at white man din ang anyo. Mas lalong nawala ang aming national identity ng ituro nila ang culture ng America sa amin. Dahil dito sa tingin ng mga Pilipino na mas maganda ang maging maputi na parang caucasian or white man. Nakakalungot isipin na mas gusto ngayon ng mga Pilipino na magmukhang white man kaysa sa sarili naming lahi dahil ito sa COLONIAL MENTALITY at pagkawala sa aming national identity.
