In the end, that's all he would talk about how he wanted to take care of me and buy me things regardless of how many times I said no. His friends would even say I'd break up with him if he didn't buy me things and take me out. Or would say things like he only got a job because of me otherwise he'd still be were he was before. His family mistreated him, and his friends gave him bad advice. A year into our relationship, he dumps me because supposedly "I was going places" and he wasn't. I, however, only wanted his love and company and never expected more than that. I think depending sometimes on culture, men are especially expected to provide and if they can't, they feel emasculated. So if their gold diggers or not, a man having money means being in control, as well as having confidence. It takes alot of work and effort to be successful, and with success there's less to fear.

Warren L looks are actually more objective that people claim. A tall male with a good shoulder to waist ratio, strong jaw, robust skull and sharp features is objectively more attractive than a shorter male with less robust facial features and poorer shoulder to waist ratio.

Your argument works for average looking people as some people will find them attractive while others may not. Men in my country (brazil) start working 2~4 years earlier than their sister counterpart (starting around 14~16 yrs old as apprentices). I've even had friends who had to work and pay for their college, while their sisters had everything paid up by daddy/mommy, even if they were younger or less intelligent. Basically the investment usually goes to the daughter first, at least until the parents see the horrible grades. Happened to a friend of mine and my cousin, and when we'd coment about it among other people, they would tell similar stories about themselves or other guys they knew.
