The fact that Nathan talks about the storm in the unused audio just supports the idea that they planned for a totally different ending than what they eventually did. It makes me so sad to know they had to rush it due to limited budged and time. I bet the last episode could've been so much better
May Bee nathan has powers too but he can go to the futur instead of the past.Wich explains th dark room with the food and stuff....rumors say that the prescotts know about the storm...so does Jefferson....think about it, how does max's powers get weaker?drugs. And we all know that nathan takes pills and maybe his parents give him those pills so he doesn't use his powers to stop the storm or anything like that.why? because the prescotts own pan houses and they have their own company so when the storm will damage everything in arcadia bay, people will buy pan houses we're not surprised....and yes the moderators confirmed that there was another ending with nathan and max reunite togheter and save everyone in arcadia bay and arrest Jefferson...that's what I found that by research. you're welcome😊😊😊
May Bee I think he was supposed to be a slightly supportive character to max down the storyline (and maybe can time travel to an extent) but the devs had different ideas :/
With the way the game kept talking about his family, I legit thought they were building up to some reveal, like some of the Prescott's having supernatural powers and it being passed through the generations, and Nathan was supposed to inherit the empire lol. I was disappointed (still love the game).
+TheMagicOfMiranda I don't know honestly. I heard it was that DONTNOD who created the game didn't have enough money to make the last episode exactly how they wanted to.
I think? well tbh Jefferson did brainwash Nathan and used him as a tool to drug, kidnap and photograph Blackwell students, and Rachel were the only ones that Nathan and Mark drugged and kill
@@claudymusic1558 i understand 100% where youre coming from but i wouldnt flat out blame him for it, he obviously has mental issues and jefferson manipulated him into doing all sorts of things. he didnt drug girls to rape them, he drugged them to bring them to jefferson so that he would do weird shit while nathan filled up the gaping whole of not having family figures. he just needs therapy and reason, he needed someone to listen and not shit on him for having those issues (which his family kept shaming him for, calling him names and ordering him to not ruin the family name) + the judgement the town seems to have towards the Prescotts obviously made him feel attacked ever since he was a child. his character is so interesting and im so mad the game made everything subtle and didnt dig deep into it.
Harper Deyes I disagree since a version of the audio here was used in one of the episodes trailers to mislead people of the future plot. Nathan doesn't have time powers. The line however has a lot of meaning. "I have a camera I can take pictures too." We all know Jefferson viewed Max in the highest light for her "photography". We also know Jefferson was sadly somewhat of a pseudo-dad for Nathan. Nathan wanted attention from him so badly (understandably, Nathan is truly a tragic and misunderstood character just like Chloe, just like Victoria- none of it excuses what they did to Kate though so they should apologize, make it better, and learn from it becoming better people of course just to clarify). This line was probably intended to show Nathan's jealousy of Max because of Jefferson's preference of Max over Nathan. Jefferson is canonically hard on Nathan about his art too, which probably really hurt him. Screw Jefferscum.
spooks Nathan originally was supposed to have powers like Max’s, that’s what the audio about the storm and him saying “I can take pictures too” was originally for. This plot was dropped.
No, It was a genuine story they were going to go with, It's ashame he either goes to jail or just dies off screen, there was so much potential with Nathan. You can tell so much stuff was cut from the game Episode 5 is a perfect example with that bs nightmare crap, but they were said to be on a tight budget before Episode 4 was released.
oxsarahbabieeox If you researched you'd know it wasn't a story they were going to go with at all so..... it was literally only a trailer misdirect. They did cut another ending with Chloe in a coma. But the nightmare scene was a plan from square one and one of the strongest elements of excitement in episode 5 sooooo
oxsarahbabieeox please direct me that interview I've been with LIS since day 1, with all the speculation and seen tons of interviews. None mention Nathan having any kind of "powers". Ive heard that their finances were running dry for episode 5 and they wanted at least one more ending but that's it. So please direct me to the interview. I'd be extremely interested in all they cut, if that's the case of course.
My pet peeve with LiS is that they didn't give Nathan a chance at redemption and recovery, they chose the lazy ending and just killed him off. The same thing happened in Until Dawn. They just killed off the antagonist without hesitation. Nathan's character is so unique to the rest and they totally screwed up by not giving us more of his character.
@@sophiadove2470 They need to make a remake with the cut content someday. Idc how long it'll take. I just want to see LiS the way it was suppose to be. >.
Slay Luna Ima try to explain easily why that's not a plausible theory. Ima be honest here, I was hooked on this from day 1. I was there since day 1 download. Here for all the jokes and theories and every single episode trailer from the beginning. Hanging on every word and clue to try to predict the outcome. The audio Nathan says about the storm WAS used. In a trailer for an episode (one that Nathan and Warren fight, in fact there's even a scene made for it that doesn't occur in game either.) It's simply meant to mislead. People were speculating Nathan had powers, and DontNod- being the amazing company that loves interacting and hearing what their fans have to say- took that idea from the LIS Reddit and made dialogue for it to put in the trailer. ALL TO SIMPLY MISLEAD YOU ON WHAT'S TO COME. As it was never heard IN GAME. The Last of Us did this as well. As a heavily story driven game wouldn't want to reveal too much in a trailer- especially an episodic one.
LightningDancerEne I had the idea that maybe he can foresee the deaths of other people. That’s why in this audio he talks about everyone dying and about the storm since it’d kill a lot of people.
You do know those dream sequences aren't real right? They're a figment of Maxes' imagination or nightmare. In my opinion I thought that those voices she hears and things she sees when she was tripping in that last episode are her biggest fears, like her insecurity of Chloe secretly disliking her. So what Mark said in her head doesn't necessarily have to be true.
i hope they remake LiS because it's like Nathan has a bigger purpose than just being the troubled antagonist and shit. still cried at the end of episode 5 but it couldve been better i guess idk.
Agreed. I think there was supposed to be a third ending (or even more than that: the game was gonna have two more episodes actually) where Nathan actually end ups helping Max. His character could've been so great.
I don't think Nathan can change time but just has visions of da storm. Honestly, that'd be so cool if Nathan actually opened up to Max and he was able to help
when he was crying like 'get off me please stop' and 'what are you doing in my dorm etc, you're such a nosey bitch.', 'you're all dead you hear me?' 'why you all looking at me like that huh? you're all dead. my dads coming, he owns you' that was all used...
Well this just pissed me off. I thought that the 5th episode sucked. I would have liked it SO much better if Nathan was a timetraveler also. Max and Nathan could have been the ones to save the town. Instead we get about 50% of the episode is just Max's dream. Maybe they'll revisit this in LIS 2 or even the TV series. In my ending, I let Chloe die to save the town. I couldn't let everyone die. So Nathan is alive and in jail. But I'm sure he got a lighter sentence because he gave up some information on Jefferson. Plus his family is rich and got him some powerful lawyer. Since he was over medicated by a doctor at time also helps him. So I wonder how much time he truly spent in jail.
kitkatt24 yeah the game was originally gonna have seven episodes, and I think there were going to be like a lot more endings, and BETTER endings. Not just the stupid "hard choice" telltale way of doing things, where no matter what choices you make, you end up at the same decision. There was gonna be a lot more of Nathan, and I think it was going to explore the mystical side of the game more (like Max's powers, the storm, Nathan seeming to know whats going on etc) but then budget cuts came and time cuts and people in the producing place got in the way, so we got the ridiculous tacked on ending we didn't want. Just like telltale. Jhhh.
Omg Just reading your comments makes me frustrated. It's tiresome and annoying when there's always some budget cut or something bad that stops something from being explored in a series. (Yes not just LiS but MANY other series out there) This is just- ugh!!
"But he had an eye for shadows. And AN EYE FOR A WHOLE LOT MORE, as his elite family will find out." Nathan would have had powers or visions aswell! Soo cool!
Nathan was originally supposed to be a time traveler like Max and play a bigger role in the game but due to the limited budget they couldn't make it happen.
When he goes. "My dad's gonna get you so stop" I felt like crying. I have no idea what was happening in that scene but it sounded like someone was hurting him. It's so unfair that everyone hates him. He was just soo misunderstood. Everyone used him and made him that way, he had so many issues and no one even cared. His father didn't care and when he joined Blackwell they bullied him because of the family he was in and made it worse. When Mr Jefferson came along he made Nathan think that he cared. He wanted no he needed someone to care and comfort him so much that he started hanging around with Mr Jefferson. But Jefferson only used him so he could do his dirty work. But when Max was driving through the storm and she heard the voicemail from him it literally broke my heart. He was saying how sorry he was for everything he had done and didn't mean and how everybody used him and then Mr Jefferson killed and he still gets hate. All he needed was some help and someone who would care and listen to him, even if he didn't go to get help, people could clearly see he was suffering and some serious problems in his mental health. No one ever gave him a chance and it makes me sooooo sad. All in all I love Nathan Prescott soo much and all I want to do is hug and comfort him. He shouldn't of had that fate😓
Nathan honestly deserved better. In the first game you think of him as a spoiled brat, but as you get to know him better and see him in BTS you realize he's actually got some serious struggles. Looking back I don't think he was evil, but I do think Jefferson totally used him and _made_ him into the monster that everyone knew him as.
While this is my absolute favourite game and the most I’ve been attached to emotionally,I’ll admit that episode 5 was weaker than the previous episodes and from what I’ve read the game was rushed because the studio’s budget was running out which is a real shame.
+Maari32 NO HE DOESNT! The pills he takes causes trembling of hands and fingers, so that had a part in it. PLUS, Chloe pushed him away, and his finger slipped and he pressed the trigger. Guns are easier to shoot than you think
I feel bad for Nathan, but at the end of the day he's dangerous. He put his hands on Max and Warren, Chloe and Kate both say he drugged them, and it's very possible he caused Rachel's death if Jefferson didn't do it. It'd be interesting if he was a time traveler too like Max or had some kind of power. Maybe they're remake the game adding in cut content.
RihannaQueen 1234 nobody knows. This game was originally gonna have seven episodes, and there were going to be A LOT more endings. BETTER endings. Not the stupid "haha guess what your choices didn't matter you're still at this decision" endings. I think if you did everything right, there was supposed to be an ending where Nathan actually helps Max. Some fan theories speculated that maybe he can see into the future? Or maybe he's a warper, like Max, but drugs himself up to avoid it. Anyway, this game was going to have a MUCH better conclusion, but then budget cuts got in the way, and different producers didn't like the different endings that were originally gonna show up, so they went with the "your choices don't matter. Make a hard decision" yeah. They were gonna explode the mystical side of the game as well more, but again, producer decisions and budget cuts. It really sucks because the ending was gonna be so much better. I still loved the game, but yeah. Hope I helped lol,
Haha, I can see why most of these ended up on the cutting room floor. The VA sounds a little out of character when he’s doing the more hysterical voice as opposed to Nathan’s usual sort of “growl.” They really should’ve tied Nathan’s storyline into the storm, though, rather than making it all about Chloe and that choice.
actually the part where he says his noice might be broken is not unused because if you wait next to him long enough after getting his ass kicked he says it
I have two theory’s maybe him saying about the storm is supposed to mislead you and he’s actually talking about Jefferson like Jefferson will wipe out everyone at the school or Nathan was having visions of the storm and that’s why he was over the rocker
You know the writing is truly amazing when you end up feeling sorry for a character like Nathan. When I chose to save Chloe at the end, my first regret was if there'd been a way to save Nathan
I really hope that in the series "Life is strange" Nathan will see storm (I'm sad that they didn't include it on the game). And I want to know more about his family. Also, I want know more about another character (especially Warren, because he stalker and in the game it didn't show a lot).
