jolie lmfaooo have u seen the movie most of these kids TRY move by street like politics I mean they all treat Stanley like he’s a square an do the whole theatrical jail scare bullshit then turns around an wants to start snitching?? Lol I never understood that part like y’all all tough wanna be’s but taddle tellin.😂😂😂
Even at some point X Rey says “Ayo don’t be squad’n up in here” 😂😂😂 funny af but they all seem they try to be street an most of the white kids as well or played crazy😭
Though by this point he COULD read due to Stanley teaching him. Still that hit with the shovel was WAY more than warranted. Sad he didn't hit him harder.
Yeah……. Even worse is that they justify this BS hole digging as building character and teaching them a lesson when it’s all slave labour….. if Pendanski was a real professional he’d help kids like Zero learn to read to enter society more prepared to function as contributing adults….. instead he loathes the quiet, reserved, obviously traumatized Zero and just views him as being stupid and useless……. He’s even worse than Mr. Sir and the Warden….. before this they showed slight respect for Zero
@@carson11100 which I loved the book as quite blatantly honest commentary on societal segregation, most of the poor were never lazy or stupid, they were born into bad circumstances and had no help. They take out their frustrations by harming others of the same class. While the rich continue on to fund pet projects and policies that only help themselves.
My favorite scene with zero is one earlier in the film. A fight is about to break out in the mess hall, and all the boys go to look. Zero, standing by the billiard table, instinctively grabs one of the pool balls to use as a weapon. He doesn't hesitate, just grips it. He doesn't try to get a look at the spectacle, he immediately goes into defense mode. He's been in fight like that one before. A subtle way of showing to the audience just how rough was Zero's background. To him, he just knows he might have to fight for his life.
And he just saw Zero try to choke out Zigzag(who at least has the common sense to look worried when Pendanski hands Zero the shovel, especially since he's standing behind him and that it could've been him instead with one wrong swing)
The worst thing here is that Stanley was betrayed by his tent who he thought accepted him. Stanley gave X-Ray the Kate Barlow lipstick tube so X-Ray could have the day off after being there for six months. Stanley was also the one who suggested X-Ray to save the tube for the next day so he can max out his day off. Stanley was also the one who covered up for Magnet after Magnet stole Mr. Sir's sunflower seeds. Allowing Hector to help him dig holes wasn't right, but the other boys are real assholes for physically attacking Stanley when he showed he had their back and trusted them.
First of all they didn’t mean to it’s probably because they know how the warden is if they just lied to her then things would’ve gone worse to everybody
These boys spend hours in the Texas sun digging holes. Then they start spending hours digging holes in the hot Texas sun while Stanley the new guy gets a breather none of them ever got. It's like watching one member of your group do nothing while you slave away. For HOURS. Add in that most of these boys are here by court appointment, and this was kinda inevitable.
@@jackcarraway4707 well if you think about it, they started off hating him, but they begin to warm up to him (X Ray and Magnet mostly). Zigzag was shown to bully Stanley in a few occasions, even when they begin accepting him.
I noticed throughout the beginning of the movie, Zigzag was always known bullying Stanley. Glad that Zero defeat Zigzag to put him in his place. And he also hit that shovel with the counselor. Zero may be short and small, but he's no punk.
The acting is top notch, really. There is some major league talent in this one scene. If you think the bad guys are played too broadly, you've never been in a situation where all the power is with someone else. People actually act like dime novel gangsters when they can get away with it.
I love the boys' dialogue/interactions with each other throughout the whole movie. Really authentic and funny and obviously at times, a little mean. Even here, "Nothin' ma, we were just foolin.'" 😄
There's a limit to everyone's sense of patience. But if someone like Pendanski bullied me for no reason, during hours spent in the hot sun, I probably would've dropped him with a shovel too.
Asshole: D. I. G. What's that spell? Zero: *Caves head in with shovel and kneels down* DIG! *books it* Me: XO XD I think it spells D,ed! As in you are with that fractured skull! You got knocked the fuck our HAHAHA!
After Zero hit Mr. Pendanski with the shovel, I was hoping that Zero would turn around and do the same to the warden and Mr. Sir for being such dicks to him as well
You don’t hand somebody a loaded gun like that without thinking, “Hey, this might go off at some point.” The same principle applies to annoying someone you just handed a shovel to hit you with.
Even though he's only the third level antagonist in the story after Warden of Mr. Sir, Pendanski is probably the most hateful of them because he likes to act like such a paternal, supportive figure with the boys - but whenever he he thinks his authority is being questioned he reclaims it by going after the boy he assumes is the easiest target. At least the other two never pretend to be the boys' friends.
Lmaoo u know Zero funny af for doin that look before he hit em as if he had to think about it just to make sure he didn’t mess up the word in order to set up the epic one liner moment 😂
"You're better off teaching this shovel to read" Zero: "I'm gonna teach this shovel to redecorate your face" Me: "Pendaski, dude, you handed Zero the shovel, thinking he won't do anything with it. Very stupid move!" 🤣🤣🤣
That title LOL! I LOVED this scene. I'm always like "Hit him with the shovel" and I always get so excited! LOL Seriously though...Padanski is the reason I have trust issues!
Pendanski: "D-I-G. What's that spell?" Zero: (silent, swings the shovel at Pendanski, knocking him down unconscious, squats at him) "Dig!" (runs) Me: "You got knocked the f*** out!" (laughs)
LMAO, when I was at work, working in a concession stand at a movie theatre, I saw this kid that had the same exact hair style as Zero and even his face looked exactly like him lol! x)
