Thank you dear Khleo for putting this together. It was great to see you all after so many years. I treasure the time on set we all had together. Here's to the next 20 years of Holes!
Shia was always willing to listen “Tell me about” “What does that look like” “How does that work” Great guy. Met him one time in New Orleans when he was hitchhiking across country for a doc he was doing. Such a humble, misunderstood guy
Yeah. I miss that time period. 05-06 I was in 5th grade and we read the book before we watched the movie 😂we also read Harry Potter and series of unfortunate events then watched the movie😪👌🙏
Met Shia once in Pasadena at a Kava bar. He literally just asked me questions. “I see you walking everyday. What do you do? What’s your passion? What do you call yourself?” I knew who he was, but he didn’t mention his name or ask if I wanted an autograph. Just positive energy. “I love people. I’m a people person.” I’ll never forget that encounter
I know most comments are about Shia LaBeouf but i think its amazing Jon Voight whose a legend with sucha huge filmography pulled up and hung out like an ordinary person. All these celebs and prodcution staff deserve all this love for showing up with no ego and just kickin it
It’s cool that Shia was humble enough to come. Too many celebs try to forget their earlier beginnings but this movie meant so much to so many. I remember still reading the book (with the movie cover) on the bus on my way to summer camp and being so excited for the movie to come out. The Holes music video on repeat on Disney. Lol. Like Respect for Khloe for putting it all together.
I agree. The reason why Shia actually enjoyed this was because that guy was so happy to see everyone not just the most popular actor. He was really cool. I hope to see that kid in so.e really good movies
The fact that this event was even put together and people from production AND cast showed out, speaks to how special this film was! I bet it was amazing reconnecting with all those people!
All the crew members reminded me of my own family how they always say to me how grown I am now and watching this it felt like everyone was family. So many child actors grow up all messed up from Hollywood and these guys all stayed on the right path even Shia has been doing better and I’m glad he showed up and wanted to be there.
From someone, who grew up in foster homes and group homes, I can say with out a doubt you never shake that. 34 years old I dont walk in to a room with out asking, never wear a hat in a house. I cant break through a door jam with out looking at who owns it. Its pretty cool to see even a movie changed the way he composes himself.
The amount of respect Khleo has for everyone involved with the movie is so wholesome. From Shia to the people behind the camera. It’s incredible to see how humble and appreciative he for a life changing experience
Facts and harry potter does this really well, I always see some of the cast reunite every year at conventions and stuff (not the big 3 which is understandable cos of their schedules but a lot of the main cast do)
STRAIGHT FACTS!!! I'm 32 now and am so blessed to be able to sit down with my 10yo son to watch all the classic VHS tapes on my raggedy VCR player. Doesn't get much better❤
I was smiling for 9 minutes straight. This movie is everything to me, and the book. Rare to see movie adaptations do the book justice. Shia is an amazing actor, knew it from Even Steven’s, but this movie confirmed he was definitely more than Disney. Such a talented cast!
@@Lostinspacechina yea I didn't know he had a page until he was talking to shia about his gaming channel and then I realized this his and I might go through and see his other content surprised he doesn't have more followers this was dope video though
i love the older folks in the production that showed up to this reunion. For the adults, it was probably one of dozens of projects they've worked. Those kids on set had a totally different experience because of how young they were and how novel the experience was to them.
It’s called a Family Film; to entertain the parents and the children alike. We don’t get a lot of those gems anymore. Lots of weird movies coming out lately.
Khleo seems like a humble, sincere person. He shook everyone’s hand and made eye contact and shared his positive memories with all the people involved. I’m glad I saw this.
Holes was probably one of the first books I remember reading in elementary school assigned along with getting to watch the movie as a reward for completing it. What a cool experience to get everybody together for such a great film. To see people you haven't seen or spoken to in years is such a gift. Congrats to all involved. What an awesome experience and glad I got to get a view of this showing!! Great to see Shia and a lot of the other cast come out to support.
You can really tell how much he genuinely loves this movie. A lot of kid actors are quick to dismiss their roles, but he’s so humbly gracious about the opportunity. I love it!!❤️
Well a lot of kid actors back in the day were bullied for their roles in movies because kids were typically cast in family friendly movies which weren't viewed as cool, for example Jake Llyod had a horrible life after Star Wars because of the bullying he received from peers, there's also the Sprouse twins who were quick to run from the spotlight, it's way different nowadays because mediums that were considered nerdy or lame are normalized in modern society, I remember when anime would get you shunned and bullied at school, now an anime adaptation is a top 10 streamed series in the world.
This movie made my childhood. After reading the book in middle school and then realizing Disney was making a movie and watching I have it playing now in the background ever since from vhs to DVD to now Disney + I loved this movie. I wouldn't want a second because I know it wouldn't be the same. Holes was a moment in time cemented in our hearts and memories.
Many people who touched one another’s lives in a positive way decades ago coming back together to celebrate their time together. Relaxed and humble. Grateful and loving.
I found myself smiling throughout this entire video. As a fan of the book and the movie, this reunion was such a treat to watch unfold. The fact that just about EVERYBODY showed up is amazing. And the fact that Shia remembered that Khleo was a huge gamer as a kid and seemed genuinely interested in what Khleo has been up to was so sweet 🥹
The movie was a huge part of my childhood. I remember that I would watch this movie over and over again while in the hospital, because Disney would play it every day for about a week. This movie has brought me a lot of comfort and joy during my darkest moments ❤
Khleeeoooooooo !!! You & Shia have to link up for your own mini independent production !! I know I can’t be the only one manifesting the collaboration of two great creative minds 🫶🏽✨🙏🏽👏🏽
This movie will go down in history as one of my most favorited and cherished movies of all time, and yet I've already began sharing it with my daughter. Takes me back man, just takes me back. Thank you Khleo, Shia, everyone. Thank you!
Holy crap, this is awesome. This movie meant so much in my life. I swear, my friends and I used to go out and dig holes for fun for years (it was actually to build character). I read this book like 4 or 5 times, and it's probably still the best book-to-movie adaption I've ever seen. This was such a special movie. And to see Shia with greying hair and Jon Voight with white hair. Man, that hit me in the feels. Shia has been my favorite actor my entire life because of this movie. I never saw you again, Khleo, but I'm so happy this popped up in my recommended videos.
Khleo just changed Shia's entire life. Shia stares at him like, "I HAVE LITERALLY NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!" We are about to see a brand new Shia over the next 20 years.
Us in the audience witnessed what can only be described as magic with the reunion and then we got to witness the magic that y’all created 20 years ago.
I'm in tears watching this. I just turned 60 and this movie was a special movie to watch with my now grown children. Zero, you were our favorite character. You're all grown up now and it's wonderful to see you with the cast.
I loved this movie as a kid. It's actually crazy thinking about how good the kids were as actors for their age. Shia looks so genuinely happy here, I always feel like he's had a mentally taxing time in the acting business so it's nice to see him look legitimately happy.
When he said “my heart is full” that’s all I could wish for in this world. The amount of gratefulness and passion he demonstrated with his peers made my heart full and inspired. Thank you for leading by example 🙏🏽
I’m so glad this popped up in my organic feed. Stoked for everyone who made it! Thanks for bringing back some awesome memories. We read Holes for a novel study and watched the movie after.
i hated reading as a kid and couldnt get myself to become a bookworm compared to many in my class. But Holes was one of the rare gems that had me stuck reading in a library until closing time from beginning to end. Ill never forget how special this book was to me and made me appreciate great literature out there.
Think as a kid it's that much more special, especially if you're not being listened to by your teachers or parents. Think kids can really connect with the characters.
As English learner ESL class, i was assigned to read the book and it wasn’t my level at that time. I did struggle a lot. Couldn’t even put a paragraph together at that time. My first ever book that I read in class 10th grade. Back in Columbus, OHIO
@AS-wl3vc I want you to know that your negative experiences to do with reading isn't your fault. It's the education systems. I exchanged and spent time in the states. In my country I was a borderline failure bur in the states I was a 4.0. That shows how much your countries system is failing its kids. Edgar Allen poe was the father of the detective novel. He was a nut job and mentally inept in a lot of things. I find it heartbreaking that Americans are like this when they gave us such great authors such as Poe, Twain, Elliot and so many more. If you don't read because of what some teacher said know this, American teachers are on average borderline retards.
It wasn’t the first book I read (I really loved goosebump choose your own endings) but I ended up having to read it in study hall 4th grade after getting in trouble. Loved that book, I ended up taking it home.
This was beautiful! And seeing Shia being so interested in what you were up to was wholesome as od wholesome. This film and book doesn’t even need a reboot or adaptation.
I love the fact that Shia’s been through this deep, personal journey of self-reflection and self-improvement, speaks well on the human condition, creates wholesome moments like this with Khleo, and there’s STILL people seething at the fact that Shia Labeouf is having a comeback/moment in the cultural zeitgeist. ☺️ COPE.
As someone who grew up watching and reading the book, it’s one of those movies I always throw into the mix from time to time. It was great to see this and hearing you explain to Shia how you’re able to do content creation and seeing how interested he genuinely seemed really hits. As a gamer I think more people like you need to make the cross between the industry and help keep leading the way! Subscribed and going to be diving in to see what you’ve been up to all these years!
I had a special experience with holes. Long before the movie came out, my primary school teacher read us the whole book in class. He put on every voice and changed up his accent for every character. When the movie eventually came out 3 years later, it ended up being exactly like he read it.
This made me cry. I loved holes so much growing up, as a troubled youth from Texas myself. This meant just as much to me as it did those who made the film 20 years ago. Thank you all so much.
To you reading this Jesus can help with whatever problems, hardships, and issues you have. Please I'm not asking you to become a Christian or to give up your life because that's wrong or this is wrong. NO I'm just asking you please consider Jesus. He rescued me from my pit and he can yours. Jesus Christ, son of God, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day After he went to his tweleve disciples and many others before ascending into heaven eternally triumphant over all his enemies and making it so that there is now no condemnation for sin to all those who believe, but only everlasting joy. To all reading this christ is the way the truth and the life
“Why would I wait for someone else to call action when I can call it myself” - Khleo Thomas Let that be a great quote for everyone going into the streaming field to remember. 💯🙏🏿
I just happened to rewatch this film after the last time being back in elementary school, so it was really nice stumbling upon this video and seeing you and shia united again!! and seeing the whole cast must’ve been incredible after 20 years, glad I found zero (khleo’s) youtube channel now :)
No but if I saw ANYONE from "Holes" in person I'd be on the floor. I'd be absolutely wrecked. "Holes" was the greatest book and movie experience I had as a kid. I love this movie and book more than any other book adaptation. I will literally go and google songs and scenes from this movie to cheer me up on a bad day. Thank you so much to you Khleo and Louis Sachar and everyone else who had a hand in this movie. I will surely be passing it along to my kids when I have them.
You are super fluent and smooth in human interactions It’s so genuine , I love that bcus you can tell when famous ppl are just not really interested in connecting and just act like It
Wow. Unreal that it's been 20 years. I just know when i rewatch it all the memories will come rushing back. That film was different from anything else at the time. From the visuals, casting and overall storyline it really stood out on its own. Probably why it's so nostalgic for so many people. I remember watching all the behind the scenes footage and cannot forget the song "Dig It". Disney Channel would play the video on repeat for forever. I still remember the lyrics to this day, especially Armpit's lines. I remember thinking it was so cool that they got all the guys from the cast to be on the track. It's awesome to see the cast and crew reunite. Great to see Shia and Khleo's reunion.
Watching this video made my entire day. I couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear. The reconnection with all the cast and crew members looked so magical.
This video had me smiling the whole time. It's great to see the cast looking so well. That movie is way more influential than they want to admit. The movie had SO MANY LAYERS.
Shia seems like a good ass dude. Genuinely interested in everything Khleo's done for himself and the fact that SHia came through to this reunion i think is pretty cool. Wish i could have come! This book was a fave in elementary school and for sure still a great ass film! You did good with this one Khleo~
Congrats on seeing your movie family again! It must of been so nostalgic. You all made such an impactful memory for all of us. Peace and love to you all❤️
It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since the movie came out... I was 10yrs old. How time flies. I still quote lines from it and listen to the songs. Kate and Sam's story made me cry. Thank you Khleo for putting this together! It's awesome to see everyone and how much it's apparent they all loved working on the movie.
