LIFE OF BIHARI'S WHO GOT STUCK IN BANGLADESH. 

History: They joined Al badr and Al shams, Allies of Pakistani army in 1971 bangladeshi liberation war and fought against Mukti bahini and Indian Army. They joined the genocide in Bangladesh. Now they're stuck in Bangladesh for their past deeds.

These people accepted Pakistan as their country , Not Bangladesh , they actively participated against the Independence Fight of Bangladesh, They Assisted Pakistani Forces in 1971 , They refused to Accept Bangladeshi Citizenship until 10-15 years ago , instead wanted to go to Pakistan. And an important thing you missed that this camp is called Geneva camp under the Geneva Convention (for war presoners). All the Bengali Razakar who helped Pakistani Army to kill or torture Bengalis in 1971, had to face trial for war crime. These people under Geneva Convention didn’t have to.

Hi Vishnu, from your name felt that you are a Bengali by birth but may have stayed outside Bengal for long. The Hindi you speak is far cleaner than most Bengalis. Realised that you are not much clued in on history. You repeatedly kept on saying partition took place in 1971. There wasn't any partition in 1971. Undivided India got divided into India and Pakistan in 1947 (when both these countries achieved independence). This is what is known as partition. Pakistan had two portions one called West Pakistan (the present day Pakistan) and the other was called East Pakistan (the present day Bangladesh). In 1971 East Pakistan broke away from Pakistan and became an independent country called Bangladesh. This is the most basic information you should have known before visiting Bangladesh. While most Hindus from the newly formed Pakistan (from both East and West) moved into India, a large section of the Muslim population from western & northern India crossed over to western side of Pakistan while those from UP, Bihar, Bengal and Assam crossed over to eastern side of Pakistan. As in India where we have a large mix of languages, both sides of Pakistan also has a mix (the number of languages are not as many as in India) of languages. However today Urdu is the national language of Pakistan though Punjabi is also a very dominant language. Sindhi, Gujarati and Balochi are also spoken by large numbers. On the other hand Bangladesh was born on the lines of Bangla language and thus it has an overwhelming majority. This is where the non-Bengali Muslims find themselves stranded. Something their forefathers had not imagined. Though you kept on hearing Hindi/ Urdu in some form or the other as you walked across the by lanes of Bihari Camp, a slightly more sensitive ear would have told you that these people now have a strong Bangla influence in their language. Most pronunciation sounded clearly Bangla. Yes, you are right these people are not at fault. But the euphoria of partition caused untold havoc across the entire subcontinent leading to terrible bloodshed. The people who propagated the two nation theory on religious lines and called for Pakistan were all well read and very well off people. Neither they nor their immediate family suffered. They sat on the negotiation table and pushed for Pakistan, while influencing the larger masses at the lower end of the pyramid of a particular religion to join the call. The condition of these masses who were way down the ladder and crossed over to Pakistan are still in pitiable condition in fairly large numbers. Thus quite often we do hear an Indian Muslim thanking their forefathers for having decided to stay back in India and not crossed over.

You cannot take on side without knowing the brutal history. These Bihari( Pakistani) tortured Bangladeshi people till 1971. Still Bangladeshi government has given them citizenship of this country. Mr. Vishnu, It is ok to not know history properly. But after recording the video and before publishing, you should have researched about your content. The bihari people migrated to EAST PAKISTAN in 1947. When Pakistan army started massacring Bengalis in 1971, these biharis took side with Pakistan and formed para military force. Along with Pakistani army, These biharis massacred numerous bengalis. Fortunately, (unfortunately for biharis) Bangladesh got liberated. But these biharis got into a huge problem. The side they supported denied to take them to Pakistan. And Bangladesh cannot keep these traitor and war criminals in our holy motherland. So Bangladesh kept them in "Geneva camp" in hope that their country (pak) would retrieve them, which Pakistan never did. They are called stranded Pakistani. They killed our Bengali people in unimaginable ways. Still our govt is kind enough that, They were given Bangladeshi citizenship in 2008. Which is totally ironic because they still consider themselves Pakistani and they support Pakistan in Bangladesh vs Pakistan cricket match, even they wave Pakistan flag too!!! The Bengali population that got stuck or willfully chose Pakistan after liberation war are still waiting for citizenship which Pakistan denying to give even when these bengalis loved and chose pyara pakistan! They are treated as second class citizen in pak. These Pakistani biharis living in Bangladesh should be thankful to the god for what they achieved.

I know many Bihari people and 9 out of 10 people I know support Pakistan when Bangladesh plays against them in any sports. There are many Bangladeshis stuck in Pakistan also, Biharis living in Bangladesh are living thousands times better life than Bangladeshis who got stuck in Pakistan. In fact most people in Bangladesh count Biharis as their own.

You have heard that it is a camp (Jeneva Camp) that they wanted to leave for Pakistan. According to the Geneva Convention, they were listed to leave Bangladesh after Liberation War. But the Pakistani Govt. did not take them and since then they were living here. They supported Pakistani armies and did not want to stay in Bangladesh. Still, they were living in this camp though Bangladesh Govt gave them other places to stay, but they do not want to go there. Now a day many of them got Bangladeshi nationality, but they do not believe or are loyal to Bangladeshi nationality.

In Puran Dhaka, there are the old ethnic people who call themselves Kuttis (there's a legend that they used to cut dhaan (dhaan kutna) so they came to be called kuttis). Kuttis speak in Hindustani amongst themselves. They're a legacy community of the old Nawabs and Mughal Subedars, who brought their own administrative people to Medieval Dhaka. If you walk in the streets of Old Dhaka you'll hear many people conversing in Hindustani. So aside from Biharis, they are the only other Hindustani speakers in Bangladesh, I believe. There are other Urdu speaking communities in Chittagong and Sylhet too, but I don't know much about them.
