u mean it might foreshadow how the chef tries to justify to Pi and his mom that eating his own kind (the sailor) is okay even though he could eat other things like fish. So here he tries to make her eat meat instead of veggies but in the boat it's human instead of fish.
Its called an "excuse" An animal still had to be slaughtered and butchered and cooked to acheive this gravy. Sorry but it's still eating meat. Not just taste. If it was powder gravy then it would be just taste.
@@ShadeRaven222 on a ship like so I would make a bet it is powder gravy since I would imagine they want to get it in bulk without needing to make stuff every time.
The buddhist is wise enough to not be slave under the agregates. He shows mastery and understanding of the 8 folded path. There is a great lesson to learn here about being a slave to the matrix.
@@nad1ax2 To be fair they’re not wrong. I’m not too savvy to Hindu traditions, although my dad’s uncle practiced it despite being of Turkish descent. I do know that most people who practice it are vegetarian though, because to eat meat means to feed on something that was once a living creature, and the most important belief of the religion is to have peace and respect for all living creatures.
I got to gerad deprdeu i know hes not the most liked now for obvious reasons but i have to give props when due he really does a really good job at making you feel absolutely sickened at his behaviour in this scenae but also i think its to show the animal foreshadowing later on what i mean by that is pi,s mother is warm and motherly like the oraungthun, the cook is nasty and grizzled like the heyena, the zen monk is gentle and serene like the zebra and the most unique one i think is the fact richard parket the tiger is exaly like pi,s dad antisocial, gruff and confrontational and its even more deep when you realise the tiger could be pi,s way to make amaends with his dad since the father was very distance with his son
Trivia: this whole scene wasn't scripted or acted. It was real. Gerard Depardieu was just being himself, helping out with catering on film sets (when he's not acting) and during the shoot's lunch break, he got into a fight with the actors. 😁
@@Literallyryangosling777 And Gerard Depardieu eaten all the other passagers in the boat. They masked that with cgi to make you believe it was the hyena
just because they are indians or follow hinduism doesnt mean they eat curry wtf you basically just made the same racist statement as the cook in this scene and there are way more vegetarian curries than non-veg ones, though the only one youve probably heard of is chicken curry or something
It's not about eating curry at all. First of all, Curry is an amazing dish. I don't care what anyone thinks otherwise. But the point here is that he doesn't like to serve Indians , and he said that by indirectly calling them curry eaters. It's clearly racist, how do you not see that?
@@winviki123 Look if someone called me a beef-eater, I would not be offended. If someone called me a buffalo / bison eater, I would not be offended. And yes curry is an amazing dish, it's not like the cook called them a shit-eater or something. Some people are sooooooo sensitive it's ridiculous.
Cook has two options: 1) Just give rice and some broccoli, ask if she want gravy if not just serve the rice and broccoli. 2) Be a pos and start spewing nonsense and racism for absolutely no reason.
