"I suppose, in the end, the whole of life becomes an act of letting go. But what always hurts the most is not taking a moment to say goodbye. I know Richard Parker's a tiger, but I wish I had said... it's over. We survived. Thank you for saving my life, I love you Richard Parker. You'll always be with me. And I can't be with you."
When you think about it, Richard Parker kind of did say goodbye. I mean he could have easily just ran into the jungle, but instead he stopped and just stood there not moving at all.
Michael Chan That's not the point of the stories actually. It doesn't really make you believe in God, but it more or less shows what kind of person you are and how you live your life based on which story you choose to believe. It is possible that either story is true, but it's never stated which actually happened. So those that believe the first are basically optimists, while those who believe the second are realists. It is an allegory for us viewers/ readers.
Which story was the bulk of the movie? That is the story the guest wrote just like the report the investigators decided to go with. The first was an example of God, going through life and accepting miracles and keeping faith through life’s chaos.
