The Royal Navy's aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth is on its way home from its first deployment, which has taken the warship halfway around the world.
It's already attracted the interest of both the Russian and Chinese militaries as it sailed to the Pacific, where it has also been exercising with allies.
Watch Able Rating William Augustine, who deals with the ship's payroll, as he takes the BBC around to show us what life is like on board.

@@elpresidente1822 except "her majesty's" doesn't mean in direct service to the queen - it's pretty much synonymous with "my country's". It's the british figure of speech for expressing patriotism. @@elpresidente1822 imagine thinking just because you work in the armed forces you gonna die (or even go to war lol). You're confusing the British with the US, bro. @@mathmagic9137 bruh you're deluded. I'm indian myself and there's no way we're as advanced as the UK. We are doing quite well (ISRO for example) and no doubt we'll get better every year. But let's not delude ourselves by pretending we're as developed as the west. We aren't (yet) but we should seek to be. Stay grounded or we'll never get there

@@mathmagic9137 Yes I am. Does that make a difference? You are trying to imply that we've gone far ahead of the UK. You've commented on every comment below about how the QE is weak. You WANT to prove that India is much much better than the UK and that we're far more powerful and well to do than the UK. What is the use of this? YOU want approval from the Brits. You WANT validation. you choose to cherry pick facts and use them to your advantage. I've lived a large part of my life in India. Poverty is rampant. You might be middle class but don't forget that millions in India live in conditions that are absolutely deplorable. You quote a figure of 9% for poverty but do you even know what living conditions exist for these people? 134 MILLION people live with just 2 DOLLARS PER DAY. Do you know what the UKs poverty line is? You gain pride in the fact that many hundreds of thousands of Indians flourish in the UK. Do you realize that the reason they flourish is because they are in the UK? Do you realize that people in the India specifically send their children out because they want better lives for them? I think that it's commendable that even minorities in the UK can reach the great offices of state (when the ruling incumbent are conservatives). Can you tell me the last time BJP appointed a muslim as cabinet MP? If anything, the presence of Sunak, Patel and Javid in the cabinet is a sign of progress, not of 'indians colonizing the UK'. The fact that religion and identity politics in India is so rampant shows how BACKWARD we are compared to the UK. You talk about how the empire ruined us. Yes, the UK did colonize us. Yes, their rule was devastating. But should we continue to blame the UK for our current misfortunes when the last time they exercised their authority was 75 YEARS AGO? China was devastated by civil war after being colonized by the Japanese (and trust me Japanese imperialism was far far more damaging to China than British colonialism was to us). Today the Chinese dragon has risen far above India - our population stats are also nearly the same. Look at Japan - they had NO infrastructure after the devastating fire bombing campaign in ww2. They were attacked with nuclear weapons. Just 35 years after ww2 Japan had cemented its position as a Economic superpower. Look at South Korea. Wrecked by war once again but still fought against the forces of poverty and backwardness to become a technologically advanced country. We were in a FAR better position- our industrial base was still intact (although limited) after British rule. Yet today we struggle to feed hundreds of millions in the country. What's more, current British wealth has certainly not been derived from the empire. That ended in 1956. Britian's economy was crushed and bankrupt after ww2. It is their actions alone that have made them progress. And FYI, British nominal GDP for 2021 is higher than India's 3.21 vs 3 trillion. This is with a population of 1.3 billion vs 65 million. Let that sink in. Finally, you should give up your delusion that India is in any form more 'powerful' than the UK right now. Having a large, soviet era army does NOT make us stronger. Hell, military power is in no way an indicator of world strength and influence. The UK (even with the decline of the empire) is a global power with power projection capabilities far ahead of India and second only to the US. It's financial strength is far greater- UK banks control a huge amount of global trade and UK overseas territories hold a huge fraction of global money (the legal and illegal kind, both). The FCO office is one of the world's most powerful and influential foreign ministries. The UKs influence on the world stage is a level India hasn't reached, thanks to years of isolationism by the congress govt. The BJP is taking steps to change that, and I'm in complete support of that. I say all of this as a BJP supporter and as a deshbhakt. You and your moronic tendencies to gain approval from the British DO NOT help the country. You must recognize that we still have a long, long way to go and work towards that. Stop pretending that we are more powerful- get out there and DO SOMETHING TO SHOW THAT WE ARE.
