If YOU LOVE THIS VIDEO, YOU WILL LOVE MY CHANNEL! Tons of old camera recordings here! At mt dad's house in Corona. And a big hang out in Fontana CA. Also the Fairmont park in Riverside!
RU-vid, Facebook, and high definition photography has badly distorted the last 10 years. 2006 feels like literally a year or two ago to me. Fashion and hairstyles from 2010 do not seem dated at all.
yes thats true we have now good pc amazing so realistic games and playing them in your phone when you want on small phone amazing but the old time in 90s was more good somehow when you change games in your comsole nes what you have and to see old video move just on video not on dvd bc dvd was not rdy for this old time and have only old tv just was amazing more then now i still remember it for that you are right in 90s was more cool im bron 93 so im almost in the last part on 90s little before 2000 year i remember my time like a small kid what was when i play my nes console or play outside with friends this old cars old tv old house was somehow more cool
Television and media have destroyed the image of what a family is and you can tell, it's working. I have no family left, but all I see is kids running with phones and tablets while the parents relax. If the kid cant have the tablet its war!!! This is the new family, distracted, unplugged and brainwashed by media and serotonin and dopamine releases through small electronic accomplishements. Sad. Jesus will be back soon!
I was born a year after this video was shot but I can still relate. My whole family - aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins - would all get together every year when I was younger. I haven’t seen one of my uncles in like 6 years and all my cousins are out of college and doing their own thing, it’s been so long since everyone was together and I miss those days.
Man, I miss 1999 so much! I was 11. The 90s in general were so much better and fun, maybe cause my childhood was so awesome :') 90s and early to mid 00s New Years Eve parties were the best! My grandma died in 2005 and we always used to do New Years Eve in her house. I loved her neighborhood, which is also my neighborhood. Since she died it wasn't the same imo. Now we do it at my aunts house.
I remember watching the clock strike 12 in 2000! Was just me and grandma watching the new york ball drop then off to bed. I was 12 or so then. Wish i could go back...
@@lunarxgreninja96 same. I was born in 1988, so I have no memory at all of the 80s. I was 1 year old in 1990. So I wish I got to experience that amazing decade! I still feel like I lived in it lol I did, but as a baby.
My mom loved recording when she came to the states when she was 17 in the mid 90’s, she had selfies before selfies existed, now that i’m 21, thankful she documented everything, she doesn’t do it anymore since these phones capture every moment, but i miss those cassette tapes and switching them and rewatch good memories, she is still alive, just time hits you hard, now i’m 21, hope to repay my mom for everything since she was the only one from her siblings to come to the states without her parents too, hurts my soul but she did it for us 💯
I remember when the clock struck 12 and I closed my eyes really tight for half a minute I opened my eyes and the lights were still on. For some reason I thought everything including the power would shut down. 😂
Bible reading....wow...you pretty much summed it up lol What you said is so very true. The home computer was awesome, and ya....we could drive, and not look down at our phones. The one good thing about our phones now, for example, if you run out of gas...you can call for help....if you're lost...your phone can help you out...if you're in a wreck...if you are not able to, someone else can use their phone to call for help.
Looking at the date, it says 1999. It gives me a very warm and good feeling. A happy feeling of a time when there was no bullshit, but just simple days and a much better world.
Back when people had patience and took life slowly to allow time for the simple things in life. No rushing and trying to beat everyone and outsmart everything that comes their way. Miss that life
Where did you live? Europe? America was always crazy rush rush rush hurry up and get it finished. The only difference between then and now is we have social media. We still had AOL back then 😝
My first Christmas alive (born 3/18/99). My memories span back to around 2001-2002 as far as I can remember, but even though I’m turning 21 this March, I have an OBSESSION over the 80s and 90s. Amazing to see this and think that I was only 9 months old!
The last of the 90’s so happy you recorded everything! I was 9 months old when you recorded this! and I’m so glad I can see what the 90’s were like. Thanks a lot I love this man..
Really makes me feel a little sad that whenever your family members take their leave that nobody hugs goodbye. It's more like a see ya til the next one and that's it. Cherish each other to the fullest Gilby because we never know, _especially_ these days. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories with us, God Bless you and your family my friend
I would've been 8 years old when this was recorded. This took me right back to my memories of those years when everything was honestly much better. Today's world is disgusting filled with tremendous moral decay and violence. I wish things could be how they were back then.
I was 6 in 99 man I remember so manny things like Mexico winning the Confederations Cup it was a party back then. Also simple cartoons and great time to be a kid.
Y2k...911...was some scary crap.. but otherwise very good times with real life friends..you could flip the bird a cuss a person..call them names..you could offend folks and they would get over it..you could still smoke in most bars.get on airplanes with no TSA.
They obviously couldn't have made these complex things with such primitive tools and limited knowledge..aliens must have done it..it takes an expert eye but when you look at the arrangements of lights it most certainly is a star map of Orion's belt..and the dwelling next door has them on the roof indicative of our modern runways..has to be where there ships landed.
I feel like I’m an old soul. I was born in 2005 (yeah I’m a baby I know I hear about it all the time) and I’m always searching up stuff about the 80s, 90s, and early 00s and I’m also always buying things that’s from those time periods. I have a bunch of posters from the 90s like Devon Sawa, Titanic, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears. If any of you guys saw my room you would be like what the f*** because it’s filled with posters and Knick- knacks that’s from/related to the 80s, 90s, and early 00s.
The way people are acting in the video, its different than nowadays .People seem kinder, more interactive with one another. It's like a COMPLETELY different time. Like not even on the same planet as current times.
Well if you want to see an old video of how people can be mean back then, check this one out from 1979. It's only like 2 mins long. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1PETYo0sa5M.html
They were. It was also easier to get a date back then. And friends actually stopped by to see what you were doing. Now they just lick their dogs balls, stay shut up behind closed doors and send stupid memes over FB messenger to you instead of saying hello. SOCIAL media has had quite the opposite effect. Having not created anything remotely close to being considered “social”.
I was a sophomore in HS and on New Years Eve we had a party in a field in the country and as it turned midnight we watched the town to see if all the lights would go off because they told us Y2K was gonna ruin the computers ect
This video reminds me of the worst year of my entire life because my mom had passed a little over two months before this when I was 9. But I just had to watch it. 😢
Damn papo may she rest in peace. My aunt passed in 2001 she was like a mother to me I feel your pain. My mom's passed away in 2007 I was 17 shit hurt cuz she motivated me after she passed I went even harder in to the streets starting going harder on drugs I started at 13 though. I wish I could go back to 1999 shit SMH.
thanks for sharing your home videos you have an amazing family I was 19 that year I'm now 40 going to be 41 in 4 months I can't imagine when my life was without technology lol only thing that was exciting was nentendo lol
It was not hard at all, I sometimes wrote 1999 on papers and stuff the first time, but then I got used to it. I mean, I still write 2019 or even 2018 on papers sometimes if I don't think
$2.95 for a pack of Marlboro Reds then. Back in 99 here in NZ they hit $10. Now 20 years later they are over $30! Cheers for the videos Gil. Time has gone so fast.
I was thinking he was documenting what his life was like before y2k..he was talking about taken $ out of ATM before midnight.seemed like he was trying hard to capture everything a normal life would be..
I feel like the '00s and '10s were less significant as decades than the '80s and '90s. Dont think Im the only one that feels that way either. Nothing really stands out about these past few decades
The 60 70 80 90s were defnitely the last 40 years before we took the complete plunge into electronics and phones took over. Before all the sex and stupidity on tv.
The 00s to me stands out when it comes to tech. HDTVs became mainstream, the iPhone came out and that basically changed the world. RU-vid, Facebook and Twitter were introduced, etc.
@@supersmashmaster43 Technological advances and the rise of social media, definitely. I still remember the days of MySpace. But outside phones and internet, theres really nothing special about the decade. This is all just my opinion, though.
I was 17, & 38 now, you'll be my age before u know it, enjoy your life, live & do everything u can, find a wife & have children, it's important to preserve your genetics
remember meeting a guy who hiked up the continental divide to watch the lights go out and camp in below zero weather. gotta wonder what he felt like afterwards.
Me being a 2004 baby I wish I could have grown up in the 90's, I'm very grateful though that my mom essentially raised me as a 90's kid to the best of her ability
On 25/12/1999 I served as a guard in the army. Thinking it would be an easy day I would spend of my duty in army club watching TV with others. Then, I got audit and caught. Punishment was 10 days not allowed to leave the base and report every hour to the representative daily. Great memories. I still have the printed punishment statement. :)
Good old memories on the year 1999 December until 2000 year at the time New Years old old times I was a kid 🧒 boy long time ago in those years I grew up with my family and brother too
