I’m 58 never married no children. NO REGRETS! Do I wonder? Of course I do. Am I sorry/lonely/miserable/have doubts? NOPE! I love my single and childless/grandchildless life.
45, never married, no kids woman that's just trying to survive. Being the parentified eldest of 7 siblings, I was forced into being the third parent so it completely killed my want for anything like that relationship again nor kids. I'm just going to remain in my little corner with my books, my art, my pets and caregiver now to my elderly Father. I prefer the peace of my time to the stress of what little free time I have being taken away from me. No thanks. ❤
Children don't take your time away. They are a feature not a bug in your life. Your parents failed you and your siblings. That is why you perceive family as misery.

I am 47, single, never married, no kids. I think it is VERY hard to find the person I would be okay with living with. Regarding kids, the world is tough, I wouldn't want to intentionally have a kid that I subject to the horrors of this world.
Looking back as a 53 year old I am very grateful I never fell pregnant....I am glad i would never of been able to give a child a life better than my own...it would of been a life of pain, struggle and fear which i am glad I never allowed this happening...
Same here... Though in my culture without husband and children you are as good as invisible or if seen, a threat. But still its better than the other option.
The money hungry/career driven accusation is my main gripe! I think on the outside it appears like that, but work is for survival. It is VERY transactional to me and I literally get no fulfillment out of it. I use my job to live comfortably and pursue creative interests.

Married people do better financially. So if you actually wanted more money and more protection, you would have started a family. It's OK that you are career driven. You can be honest with yourself and everyone else
I’m 43, divorced, and child-free by choice, and I have never regretted it once. I would be perfectly fine had I never been married as well. I’m happy single now and while I’m open to the right relationship, I’m in no hurry and I’m not willing to get into a relationship just to say I’m not single. I’m just not ashamed if any of my choices on this front 🤷🏼♀️. Single in your 40s can be amazing. Dating isn’t great but that’s true for other age groups too; I think that’s just where we are as a society.

I like travelling, but honestly I prefer a thousand times staying at home. I can spend days in a row without stepping on my front door, and I'd be happy to live like that for the rest of my life, good thing that I work at home, I'm very confortable with that. And that's part of what you said, one has to know oneself and know what one wants in life, It'd be a disaster if I were to abandon my life preferences just to try to fit in with someone (someone that hates being at home for example), and that's what many people do and they end up in toxic relationships and feeling more lonely than ever.
I couldn't agree with you more. People settle because society makes you feel that way. I love that you have found comfort in being with just yourself. So many people have not taken that path. I am 39 years old virgin man. Never had a girlfriend. My father left home when I was 7 years old. Raised by a single narcissistic mother. I am golden child and sister is scapegoat child.
I had turned 40 years old this year on May 25th and have never been married or have children. I am a male with high functioning autism, work part time at Walmart, don’t drive, and still live with my parents. I would like to live on my own and get married one day but don’t want any children. Part of the reason why I don’t want any children is because raising children will be a lot for me with my autism. I also hope that my future partner or wife likes to travel too and we travel to many different places and also go out and do a variety of things.

Since you have autism maybe you don't understand so let me help. No one will marry you because no one wants to hitch their future to a part time Walmart employee who lives with his parents. Also, you will not travel because part time Walmart employees don't make enough to travel anywhere or even pay their bills. If you are "high functioning", raise your level of performance, apply at target or something. Your time is now. The world is not waiting on you. Your ancestors were meant to hunt, autism or no. Channel the spirit of your ancestors and make them proud of their bloodline!

Just found this video. Title caught my eye. I can relate. 51 year old male. Never married or engaged. Pretty well grounded guy. As you say, I have a job not a career but I do ok. I have a degree of contentment and a pretty full life. I dread the drunk at weddings asking why I'm single - irritating to the point I avoid gatherings and occasions now. Some of the comments in related videos are pretty mean. Having said that, at 51 now Ive babysat an older male friend through a very nasty divorce and watch a cousin go through the same I kinda feel I've maybe dodged a bullet. I think some ladies struggle with being alone but a lot of guys crave it in my experience. Most marriages nowadays are destined to fail, wedding shops are going under - very telling. At 50, I wish I had children, I wish I was going to have grandchildren, I wish I was married. Also, I wish, I came from an upbringing where family came first. Unfortunately, my family was divided and my mother was always projecting her misery on everyone. So I ran away and never stopped. I wish I had mentors who told me to take my time, get to know myself instead of feeling the pressure to meet someone. I could have avoided turning into the chameleon I was for years, all to end feeling empty and alone. With all that I know now, I would have loved to have meet my mate, rooted in a deep friendship, love and full of adventure. Build our pursuits, careers, family and wealth together. Some people prefer to be alone. I live with a giant void in my life being alone and question the point of even existing without a family. I hate it. I wish you all the best. I pray you all find yourself and not let your past predict your future. Thank god for internet now offering endless information and resources. I wish it was available when I was younger, desperate for connection and answers. It's been a long 5O years. Hopefully the rest of time is better.

I hope you know 50 is not that old and that if you wanted to, you could adopt. Oh, there are so many children out there looking for a loving home. This is something I said I would look into when I got my own things sorted, even if I was single still. It truly breaks my heart to hear you didn't have the greatest upbringing. I was raised by such a loving and caring family. This was never my reason for being single. I just haven't found the forever person, maybe in time. Yes, my childhood sent me on a tough path but many people overcome this and move in a better direction. It took me a very long time to redirect and I am left with the result of my decisions. My hope and pray is by sharing my honesty it will in turn help others truly be themselves and follow their hearts. In this case, to be parents or not. There is no right or wrong decision. It’s all about getting to know yourself and what matters in life to you. I know now, family was and is everything to me. Single life is not for every woman. I got married in my early 30’s and i was soooo ready. I was super excited and still am. I tried the single, career driven life for over 10 years but I was longing for a family. I continued working on my own pace especially after the kids. Single life is not for everyone, just like married life isn’t for everyone either.
You are so correct. I know many people who can't be single. Some people need someone in their lives at all times. Everyone is different and so happy you found love and are happy with your choices 😊 🤍
I’m 32 and I didn’t fall in love with any guys my age. My boyfriend is 48 and we are very happy together. His daughter is grown, so he and I are able to focus on our relationship without children. He’s way more loyal and caring than any man I’ve dated in the past, and I don’t have to worry about him wanting kids because he’s co-parented already and doesn’t feel like he needs to do that again.
Great video and excellent points. I am 43 and have been in many relationships but have never met anyone who (1.) I had a great connection with and (2.) would also be a great father. This is one of many many reasons I don't have kids. The cost of raising kids is the second reason. I have to add this 3 months later: amazing how may regretful parents there are in the comment section jealous of child free people.

In my experience, married women really seem to judge and dislike single childfree women. And these are supposedly happily married women, why do they even care?!
I have come across a few of those in my time. So many women felt the pressure and went with it. Unfortunately, I think the judgments are more about jealousy. I will say, though, in my case, I felt more judgments from men. And that, too. I believe it's just people who wanted this life but didn't end up with it.
I just turned 44 , never married , no kids. Let me tell you that I tend to have more money and freedom than my married with kids counterparts. I feel mostly happy and not stressed. My body is in better shape than my counterparts too and I do whatever I want. I get a tad bit lonely sometimes but it isn’t overwhelming at all. My personality has always been resilient for being alone. I’m very focused on myself and I’m open to love some day if it happens but I’m not pressed. I’m blessed to be where I am in life, happy and healthy. I’ll tell you what , I’d be more worried about smoking and drinking and drugging than not being married or no kids. Everyone I know who is lost has those problems..
You do not have more money than married people in general. You have more money than your small social circle. Correlation is not causation. You are not "open to love" because love is selfless. You are a "tad bit" lonely now? What do you think happens when you are 64?

we are just alike i feel like we are long lost twins souls, we are identical .i feel same way. when i was in my 40s my family was compalining to have kids and it was taboo not to have them even though that was back in the late 60s it has shown me times dont change much. now im happy and live a very happy en joyful llife. my husband complainsd he stills wants kids but i told him its still not a good idea.

There is theory that there is part of self absorbed women that find themselves extremely special couldn’t get a man which would just be like them perfect in every subject. This is really funny part of the story “why still 40 and alone”. But if you are not of this part of women and there was just not the right guy or you weren’t somewhere at the right time then I congratulate you.

Even if your married and have kids, you will still be alone at the end. Becouse your children will move out and get married also, and your spose gonna die.

The reason I did this video is because I know I'm not alone when it comes to being happy and single. Society has taught us that we need to have a significant other in order to be happy. Male 60 never married no kids. Not gay! By choice never wanted kids and stayed that way. Marriage never interested me. Happy still single. Not in any relationship and not interested in any. I enjoy my freedom. Most weddings I have attended ended in divorce! One lasted one year plus note the collection of child custody issues, restraint orders, maintenance payments and lawyers having a field day! I keep out of all this. I run my business and meet wonderful interesting individuals on a platonic level. Interesting topic and I have no regrets being single as one is free and I love it:)
Not everyone feels the need to have someone in their life. It's always a choice. It's also a choice to be in a loveless, unhappy relationship. That's the great thing about your own life, it's your choice. Truth!
