That gives me ideas of casting a bunch of small little nibs in various colors, then casting a mix of them together. Would prevent any color bleed from using drops of dye.

That would be so awesome! I'd recommend going with darker colors when you cast the life savers if you want them to show up a little better. Transparent dyes tend to disappear a bit when cast in clear resin

Thanks Bob! I think it would be possible to cast real ones too. The only issue is they would be a little weaker, so you'd have to be careful when turning. The other thing that comes to mind is they will melt if they get wet, so you'd definitely have to apply a finish on top and not wet sand
