Proud of you, Heidi. It’s hard to be open and vulnerable and honest. My “wall” was 28 and it’s a night I’d like to never hear about again. I know we are just followers, but we really do support you 💯. Life is a journey, we never fully figure it out. “Progress, not perfection.”

@@user-qx2db1sr8k There are many metaphors that help us to understand life. When we met, I was turning 26 in 11 days; my wife turned 26 on 12.10 of that year. My dorm room was #1210 freshman year in college. My address:915. Her address: 5349. If my birth certificate number is calculated as a value of miles, then the last 7 digits are 915349. Coincidence? Life is a meaningful coincidence. I have 72 years of empirical evidence to prove the coincidence of my 71 year life, so far. 👀🐠🌊. Is human conception a supernatural event? A coincidence or a process?

I quit regular party drinking at age 25. Was married to a non-drinker at age 26. Had a 6-pack in the refrigerator only for when a friend stopped over, so I could be hospitable. That six-pack lasted a year. When our son was about 6 I got angry at him for making noise while I was watching a football game. It reminded me of my dad getting upset when we were just being kids. That is when I quit for good. Maybe 1 beer per year. Discipline will save your life!

I've been sober 38+ years and so grateful for my sobriety. Find AA meetings where you live and find women therein with long term sobriety to guide you. Don't try to stay sober alone and stay away from the people, places and things that trigger the urge to drink. Also, there are many dangers in maintaining a career based on looks, although your sweet personality keeps guys returning to your videos. That you were born physically attractive is a simple fact, yet one that can be difficult to manage. Acceptance of facts is key to sobriety, no matter which substance or habit one tries to kick. Best of luck to, you delightful Heidi!

Heidi, I have admired so much of what you do, and enjoyed going through your adventures with you. Your struggles, issues are what shapes who you are, how you deal with them and overcome what you do not want to have as a part of you. You are shaping your life with your choices every day, So often I wanted to shout advice to you, to be there to help. We all here wish you well and would do whatever we could to assist you. My struggle with nicotine was epic, for me. I did not want to stop, 3+ packs a day, but could not allow myself to continue when my wife quit. She went cold turkey and toughed it out for several really rough days, then about 18 months before she felt free of the need. I cut back and tortured myself with each one for maybe 2 years before finally having the last one. I really missed the feeling, which I learned was helping me overcome and adjust to diabetic sugar levels, and I missed the ritual/paraphernalia and actions involved. It has been over 20 years now, and I am glad to be rid of the dependency. You will get there, most everyone quits at least 3 times before thy actually do. Your appearance is of course something that requires a lot of maintenance, Nd you will need a lot of sun screen! From my perspective you are very attractive, and the changes you are now making will only accent that! Your skin and hair are beautiful, and what you see as flaws will be things that may endear your partner to you. You have our love of who you are, not just your physical beauty, Your inner beauty shines out from you in your thoughts, words and actions!

You nailed the point with one word: GROWTH. Not experience, not maturity, not the process of healing, or healing, but the conscious search for growth.. The inner peace that you allow yourself to hear, over the din of life.. It changes your expectations, guides your conscious faith and gives greater foundation to your inner dreams.. Peace is a natural state until it is disturbed or ignored. It is as though we cut a piece out of our essence when we don't remain in peace. We are shaped by the experiences in the world around us..we naturally follow the flow of experiences, some good, some bad, we don't anyways know how to discern or respond. We also look for attention and purpose, not realizing that we have a more powerful force within us that sustains us if we don't enter doubt. Life is the questions and introspection, not the answers., we look for external certainties, and feel trodden down when our struggles are front and center. We try to hide, to blur, and to blot out our bad experiences..we become distant from ourselves, hope and faith falter INSIDE of us..the hardest part is recognizing life on a different level..it feels like a hopeless contradiction as we are hurt by the external and our internal workings. Life really is a journey we are all MAKING together. We are ALL together in the "presence" of life. So many different people trying to figure it all out, with various circumstances and consequences. It is amazing and terrifying all at the same time. Life can change so much in a moment. It is so simple, yet has so many complications and distractions. We all wonder "what is the meaning of life?" but don't realize that the purpose is to overcome the "monster" of life and to grow, and foster growth. Not ideas, not opinions, but through being at peace, growbeyond what the "world" as we individually experience may "make us". It is sad, but trauma gives structure to grow from, not just pain. It gives resolve, as life works in curious ways. We need to earn our path. When we hide behind feelings, excuses, or actions which hurt ourselves or others, or we cover our percieved shame, we are diminishing our lives and others. We hurt ourselves first before we even get the chance to hurt others..understanding and facing down the pain of uncertainty by allowing our inner peace is the key. Most all religions have the same basic core VALUES in different cultures' expressions before they are exploited to support individual will.. Peace is a universal concept. Discernment, and faith are central to religion. All religions I know of expect personal growth. You are so lucky to be in this position, where you have the platform from which to share your faith in yourself, your joy of life, your hopes and growth, and connect with so many other's, showing them that they are not alone..that we an all lift each other up..we ALL can be REAL..NOT WHAT WE THINK IS EXPECTED! I know you have a newfound responsibility which may now feel overwhelming, but your being real with yourself will change countless lives for the better..just by conquering the shame of admission, you have shown the world your faith in your turning point..you have slayed your demon, now it is time to follow through, and heal. His holiness the Dali Lama said "If there will be peace, it will be by BEING, not 'knowing'.." (This coming from a man who strives for holiness, knowing that he is not perfect himself..none of us are.. the point is we are to strive..not struggle.) May you fall in love with yourself as you strengthen yourself, and lead so many others to take on the same challenge we all must take eventually, in our own different ways. We need nothing more in life than to own ourselves, love surrounds and falls in synch with us when we do. I'm remembering the saying "love is so simple, why is it so complicated?" The answer so many times is "our doubts and fears complicate it" The monster of responsibility, owning oneself..rearing it's ugly head..challenging us.. Practicing faith provides shelter from the storm, till you deny the storm it's power.. trust yourself and the role of your practiced faith. Remember all you may have done already, you may yet realize the good outcome of..you have graduated to a higher level of self and strength, humbly lending a raising hand to others .. One moment at a time, carrying peace, not the load. You have come to take that moment..it has and always will be with you.. Sorry for so many words, the simplest things are the hardest to express..having walked alongside wildlife as an equal and a neighbor for 40 years, walked and sat with a matriarchal lineage of whitetail deer for the 2 decades, this past week spent a lovely 2 hours napping on the grass with 2 of the 4 fawns born together this year in my "immediate" deer family, many hours together over many years, I've gained perspectives outside of my own, learned their ways and language, and the value of how life is approached. It has been a tremendous privilege, an exotic invitation which I finally realized as my mind cleared. I recognize your world is giving you the opportunity to clarify, engage at a higher level, and grow beyond your expectations. You are truely blessed to appreciate and approach it honestly.. I'm off to church next, then spend some time with my deer..lol stinkers grow & learn so fast, they are quite independent now at 2 months old! The thing we cherish most together is the peace..they remind me daily.. You will find yours!🥰👍

SO SO proud of you Heidi !! I also live in Virginia and used to go to the Outer Banks often so your videos are so relatable and i love them but i will admit that the truth and vulnerability that you showed in this video has made it my favorite one. You spoke about real life issues that affect so many but is not talked about enough and i think that was one of the bravest things you could have done. I learned a long time ago that when a woman feels a certain way about herself, there's very little you can say to change that. She has to work it out for herself. You're absolutely beautiful inside and out so don't let anyone ever make you feel differently! I am a guy, happily married and i do care ( Did you really think that men wouldn't care? ) I would love to see more videos like this, keeping us updated on how you're progressing! We Love you and always stand by you !! BTW, your videos have always inspired me to live the simpler life that i Love so much and though it may sound corny to you, in many ways, i could say that my life is much better now because of you!🤗🙏

I think you are very brave for posting this. You are an inspiration. Speaking on vaping, I smoked a pack a day for twenty years. I read the book, "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" and I was able to quit cold turkey, and never struggled with it again. No patch, no gum. Maybe that will help you with vaping.

I'm blown away by this video. All of a sudden you have become a real person to me, facing similar issues that I face. You hit right on the heart of an issue that I have with alcohol and how I'm still not really dealing with it directly. I can stop, and have, but I don't really want to. Also your looking to find with where home is hit my heart directly. I'm fixin' to retire from 30 years in one community, and leaving for better, but I stress about how I will be able to deal with a new home and a new community. You are absolutely right that home is where you make it, and that gives me inspiration to "make it so". Thank-you for this video. Also, I can assay what nasty metals are in your vaping liquid (I've seen Fe Cr Zn As/Pb in Juul) - they catalyze reactions for chemicals that you don't need in your lungs. Best wishes...

Lil Red, ive been following you 4 years. U showed courage opening up like that. I respect you. I've struggled also, with alcohol, with identifying who I am. I spent 20+ years in our nation's military, then retired & felt SO lost. It takes time to heal. As a fan of your beautiful adventures, your courage, your honesty, and most importantly your mental health, please take your time, work on it. No pressure....we (your beloved fans) absolutely support you. With respect & admiration, yours truly, Jess McGraw, a dedicated member of the Wolfpack. We love & respect you Lilred.

Heidi you need to listen to your gut instinct the little quiet genius inside. This part of you has all the answers. If you’re going to be a public figure on social media it’s not about projecting who you are personally to the world. That’s just too intrusive and exposes you to vulnerability. Social media is an addiction just like booze etc. it’s about balance and being honest with yourself at least, who gives a shit how other people see you and perceive the person you project. Let ‘em think what they think as long as you are happy with you that’s what matters most of all. To be a public figure you have to project a persona to the outside world please don’t prostitute the you inside to the outside world it’s fatal because the comments and critique that follows can be crushing to the you inside, she needs and must remain private. I have had more than my fair share of struggles and life shattering events and when you’re thrown down very hard you must get up differently. It’s not easy what you do with social media in fact it’s so time consuming that people don’t realise. You’re gunna be okay, you just need to treat yourself with kindness and the more you question your own life and the one inside and how can I say ….. become a truth seeker then how honest you are with yourself will determine how fast and easily you break through the mental barriers that we all face. Life is short so focus on yourself 100% forget the big wide world of social media’s false projections. Most people are screwed up let’s have it right lol. Nice folks who are levelled and balanced are few and far between. Being happy is the way forward’s. Personally if it doesn’t serve me well in life then “it’s not a part of my life”. I have to be brutally honest with myself at times as like everyone else on the planet I get things wrong and there’s no point continuing with that which doesn’t work for us personally by doing so we remain in a cyclic pattern of self deception. And that’s a slippery slope because if we know that we don’t know that we don’t know something and keep doing it wrong, we’ll that’s one thing. The danger is when we don’t know that we don’t know that we don’t know if that makes sense. It’s like this how are we supposed to know that which we don’t have reference to until it is uncovered! Stay strong and focus inwards getting to know yourself is an inside job and can only be such. Be cautious and careful with what you share with the world out there because it really is full of lunatics. I hope that you stay focused and look after yourself. Nik 🙏🏻

Like you, outwardly I was blessed with all the attributes of a successful life when I was young - great education, lots of friends, not bad looking. Inside, I was a mess of anxiety and uncertainty. I had issues with choosing a career, a failed long term relationship, and financial worries. It took time for things to come together but eventually they did. Don't give up - today's seemingly insurmountable problems will become yesterday's successes. Give it time, adjust to the feeling of living with uncertainty, and know that the only bad decisions are decisions you don't make. Continue to take charge of yourself and your destiny. If I can do it then anyone can! I'm quite a bit older than you but know this; you inspire people of ALL ages to look around at this big, beautiful world and appreciate all that we've been given. Thank you for doing that for me. You're wonderful!

Proud that you are strong enough to admit when there is a problem, that is always the hardest step to take. Personal things are always hard to talk about but holding them in is not good, I'm 43 yrs old Heidi & had things happen to me as a kid & never told a soul for 35 yrs, not my family, not my friends, not anyone, after I went through therapy is when I realized that with every person I was able to talk about it with, that weight on my shoulders got a little bit lighter. You are a very courageous woman & being able to talk to us or your inner circle of friends & family is the best thing for you. I just wish I had the ability to open up about my situation earlier in my life, stay strong Heidi we are here for you 🙏

Hey Heidi. So much respect for you for coming on your channel and opening up this way. First please know you will be fine, there is a time for everything in your life. Be patient. I am not sure if this will help you but I know it won't hurt. I wouldn't say anything to hurt someone. I am a professional musician/guitarist/songwriter. Under a fic name. I never got the feeling out of doing what I do that everyone else gets in my position, until I sat down and really analyzed what I do and it's place in the world. Long story short I get that "high" from writing the songs not so much playing in front of thousands of people. At least not the way I felt I should. So I focus on the part I love and hope I benefit people with the music. Creatives have a very rough way to go until they can put themselves in the place of the "audience". You are a creative. Your posts are magnetic to me and I am sure everyone of your subs as well. You have something about you and what you do. You must find the "love" within the process. It has to be a bit strange doing this but what creative's life isn't strange that way? Haha. Bottom line, find the love. Side note please don't feel like you have to up the anti so to speak. Anything you post is entertaining and thoughtful. It's honestly hard to put my finger on. Anyway. You will be fine and we will all be here supporting you from where we are. 😊

So great to see you again , even if it is a different topic. I have never struggled with any addictions, but had women in my life that had the same as you are going through. It is so hard for any of us to see what you have gone through or experiencing considering we see short bits and bites of what is offered to us, but we are still here because of what you have offered and shown to the world Probably difficult for many to look at you and imagine you ever being bullied as a kid or shunned because of hair and skin tone, but we have all had things to deal with that no one will ever know about. We see you as a beautiful loving caring person to your family and your furry little ones, we see your smile and hear your thoughts and the love of the outdoors. You say you want to do more and basically leave a mark and do something big. You have to remember that you have already. You do not need to climb mountains and then fall because you feel you failed. You have done something BIG my dear, you have half a million followers tuning in to see you catch a fish, cook in the woods or set up a deer blind. No, maybe not Mother Theresa stuff, but you a pretty little girl from where ever have 500,000+ people that feel something whether it seems profound to you , but you have touched so many in such a simple easy way, that you do not even see that is BIG. We will be around when you are ready and feeling up to it. We expect you just to be you , and of course healthy, happy and to share your fishing and hunting spots with me lmao . We will look forward to seeing you when you are ready, take very good care of yourself.....Mike

Proud of you for kicking the booze and good luck with the vape I quit smoking 22 years ago best thing I’ve ever done. I followed my mom’s advice never put another one to your lips. I’m off alcohol newly as well drunk to much bourbon last time and was vomiting bile the next morning and as a diabetic I shouldn’t of even been drinking to begin with. I just received a new hip at 53 and I’m trying to get rid of my excess weight now. Just know we and everyone in your life love you and whatever you do in life enjoy it. And you have natural beauty that losing the fake tan makeup or anything can’t take that away. Best wishes and take as much time away as you need we will be right here.❤
