Shelley, 1. The injustices that both teachers and students have to deal with in the school system makes me want to swear occasionally sometimes because it boils over to how much I am able to mentally take on at once. It's all about trying to make the educational system miserable on everyone and here you are still not falling in the trap. I hope that the politicians who are doing this to you are happy with themselves that they get to live the good life while you struggle and someway, somehow still manage to make it happen. That is faith o plenty. Congratulations on the new baby. 2. I needed to see your beautiful face today because I just lost a cousin to cancer tonight and seeing you brightens my face up even in my weirdest hour. - Dwight
I teach 6th grade Dual Immersion 🎉in Southern CA!! Congratulations on your baby girl!! I way older so I have a 29 years old daughter and an almost 21 year old boy😬
Love the trip idea. I’m currently writing my first book. That’s one of my goals. And I’m also currently applying to be a long term substitute teacher in my district. For middle school. I am thinking about doing elementary school grade level I would love to teach would be 3rd grad. So if you can give me some advice for 3rd and sixth grade. But I’m shooting torus 6th for middle school. Mainly 6th grade. My district is going to pay a portion of college tuition. So any advice would help. Going for language arts. As far as subjects wise. And I love your videos. You’re so inspiring. And congratulations on your baby girl.
I’ve commented a couple times here before. Always so crazy that you and I seem to be on the same track. We have taught the same grade levels at the same times. Have the same pattern when it comes to babes. I have 2 sons, one 5 and one 18 months. I just found out last week I’m expecting my 3rd! I love your channel. The content is so relative to the season of life I’m in. So hello from southern Arkansas from a fellow mom and teacher who is right there with ya!
My inner child is 8, so my sweet spot is in the middle of elementary: second (7 years), third(5+1 years in one state, 2 in another) and fourth(5 years in one state and 1 year in another).
Hi i am a first year teacher...3rd grade! I am considering looping with my class next year to 4th. Am i just too attached and going to make a horrible decision looping? What do you think? (I do love 3rd grade very much so far, everyone says it's the sweet spot)
A trip to Costa Rica would be a dream come true! How fun! You are definitely lucky to get to spend that much time with your kids! I just had baby number 3 as well, but only took 7 weeks off (paid "sick days", thank goodness). I'm looking forward to seeing more from you this year. Thanks for checking in, glad you are healthy and happy! :)
Congratulations on your new baby! I have 2 boys and 2 girls. I LOVE being a mom. I love being a grandma as well. I have 14 of those loves. My request for a video would be how do you organize your teacher area.
SO good to see you back!! Congrats with a happy and healthy delivery. You look awesome as usual!! I LOVE Yosemite!!! I have been several times and I can’t get enough of its beauty. The hotel/restuarant (can’t remember the name-yikes…but there is only one BIG one up there) is awesome and the kids will love the HUGE fireplace. I want to go on your trip to Costa Rica- will go to Instagram to learn more. Finally, sharing how you get it all done with so much on your plate would be so valuable! I love your class vlogs but would also love to see how to balance it all. Keep up your amazing vlogs and all you do. I LOVE it all!!!
Congrats on baby girl! I just had my second baby (also a girl) at the beginning of January and will be off for 12 weeks. Had a question: In my district/state, I have to be on payroll and working for so many days in order to get my pay increase for the following school year. Do you have to do something similar? Was curious since you said you don’t go back until August. Enjoy your time home with the baby!!
Father of 3 kids my youngest daughter just turned 1. My middle daughter is about to turn 3. My oldest and my son is going to be 7 in March. I teach 3rd grade in Oregon.
Lovely to hear from you Shelly ❤️ Trying to navigate life as I lost my beautiful mum at the end of October. So planning a trip to Tennessee with my husband in August. ❤. Lots of love. Xx
I’ve taught 3rd and Kindergarten. Kindergarten is my favorite! I absolutely love it!! So you won’t be looping again with your class I take it. Congratulations on everything! I love watching your videos!
I also am on maternity leave until August. My second child (also a daughter) was born at the end of November. It's funny I am also tackling projects around the house while on leave. I also teach 3rd and think it's my sweet spot too. :)
Lots of achievements to be made this year. But the biggest one that was accomplished in 2023 was completing our family with our second daughter. But we are celebrating three major birthday milestone (hubby 40th, and 5th and 1st bday), and homeschooling for the first time ever. Especially since I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. But we are in for a whirlwind of confusion since my husband and I don’t have homeschooling backgrounds to 😬
I love the name Blaise! So cute 🥰 I would love to go to Costa Rica! We’ve been teaching the same amount of years and have been following you since the beginning. I also live in ca (southern) and am going to Yosemite this summer as well! I’d love to meet you and other teachers and network too ❤
