Two things: You both are amazing parents, you continuously show how much you love your little girl. And, the things you say about your child while they are in earshot are internalized and become your child's inner voice. That is something I always keep in mind before I talk about certain struggles ❤️

it was deffiilet bittersweet but now that its been a few weeks it just seems normal that its not part of our routine. She did randomly ask for it tonight while putting her to bed and it was a reminder which made me a little sad but I know she was just asking to prolong going to bed because she also requested a bath lol

After the challenges of the newborn/baby stage with breastfeeding and sleeping (which was the very hardest for me, looking back) comes the challenging toddler period, which, depending on the toddler, can be quite rough. It was very rough with my first, though not as rough as the baby stage. I would say the key is stepping back, just like you do when your baby is crying non stop and you take a break from it. The tantrums and meltdowns are very emotionally draining so it's important that, while staying connected to your toddler, you take a step back from the situation as often as possible. I remember this time very vividly. It gets better, and sooner than you probably think. Suddenly you have a lovely school-aged child (school age is from 3-4 where I live) and it's all so much better. Sending you strength!❣💪
@surlespasdondine

Basically having a toddler is like being in a relationship with someone who is emotionally unstable, their brain is underdeveloped and emotional regulation does not work yet. This gets soooo much better, I promise.🌹

Omg I’m sobbing on the GO train watching this. I started working again and I had to wean my son to only one feed when he wakes up. Weaning was VERY emotional for me and I also suffered from terrible mood swings. I still want to breastfeed him because i miss the bond so so much but I know it’s best for him as his independence from me is important when I’m gone at work. I just miss being with him every day and nursing him every hour now😭❤️ sending you love cause I know how hard this is

I wish every mom could read the book “regretting motherhood” without that title scaring everyone away. We have got to start normalizing the hardships of parenting so that people have realistic expectations and can make decisions on whether it’s for them or not. Thank you for keeping it real.

That is an intense title haha I agree though that people need to understand and see both sides of parenting. Sage is so much fun right now and teaching us so much every day but its also a hard job.
@KatieRingley
@KatieRingley Год назад
@@HealthNutNutrition yes it IS about the name of the title but mostly it’s just about the taboo ambivalence of mothering that includes both the intensity of the love and the unimaginable that they aren’t now in our lives along with not ignoring how tough it really can be. So mostly just to say I see you mama and know it’s hard sometimes 🤍

Motherhood is an emotional rollercoaster for sure, but I think we are allowed to not enjoy everything about this journey. I just give myself permission to feel the way I feel, and knowing that I’m allowed to not be happy all the time helps me deal with the emotions more easily.

Hello! You and Matt are great parents. My oldest has a very strong-willed temperament. Now he’s 9 and he is still that way. When he was younger I used to wonder “is it me/us?! What am I doing wrong?” The mental wondering and confusion was almost the worst part. And no one understood. Once I accepted that it’s just the way he is (it’s his temperament, not us) it relieved the pressure and I gained confidence. I was able to find what works as far as boundaries and discipline, and what fills his cup with positive. Once he started school, life became a lot easier. He has wonderful qualities as well. Child 2 is polar opposite. He still has his moments but overall is a much less stressful experience. He is more “normal.” It’s the way that they are born. I’m already gearing up in my mind for the teenage years with #1. A whole new world to navigate. Yikes!!! 😂
@lisawees
@lisawees Год назад
#1 is also extremely intelligent. He’s too smart for his little body! It blew my mind when I started realizing through his educational pursuits just how intelligent he is. I think that contributes a lot to his hard headedness. There are great positives too!

We have passed the week mark without breastfeeding. Around 20 months. I felt my hormones weren’t where they should be and wanted to just get back to pre-pregnant pre-breastfeeding me. It was a hard week. Just check in with yourself and know that what your feeling is probably hormone regulation and you aren’t alone and it’s so normal. Just not really talked about. I’m taking Maca root powder to balance out. Definitely speak to your dr about it! I hope others see this and we can all give each other some solidarity love! Looking forward to that BF video ❤

I never comment hardly, but I just wanted to say I breastfed my firstborn till he was 2 years and 9 months. It was a very emotional journey, but I was pregnant with my second born at the time and my milk just dried up. I was ready to go till he was 3 or even 3.5! Lol the cuddles and snuggles are so rewarding tho. And they feel a lot more life giving and less depleting than your body just being at the mercy of them and their demands lol! Thank you for your honesty and raw emotions! It’s so so emotional being a momma. It’s such a bittersweet feeling watching your baby grow up every day. You like want time to stop in its tracks but you also want to see them grow into all that they are going to be and the awesome human being they’re going to grow up into. Just know you’re not alone with all those feels!! Hugs 🤗

Stopping breastfeeding will cause a hormone shift in your body akin to post partum so it’s natural that you are feeling a little extra emotional right now and Sage feels that and is going through her own transition in this time as well so it’s to be expected that you are both a bit off emotionally. My motherhood mantra has been “it’s phase” it remind me to stay present to enjoy the good moment and take a deep breath and know the hard ones will pass. I’d love a whole q/a video on the wind down of your breastfeeding journey. I am at a year and a half now and don’t really have a goal or any idea how long we will go. Insight into what that looked like for you would be cool perspective

Hey girl! I am trying to attempt to wean my 22 month old soon and I'm slowly trying to cut comfort feeds out and he was also really emotional and my sisters said it's probably because you are taking his major comfort away. He doesn't use a pacifier or anything else so I just want to encourage you that could be a big reason why she's so sad and emotional and it will get better. They adjust so quickly!!

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. Cuz everything will be alright “ its from super simple songs channel. It always calm her down and I repeat as needed until its over and she get calm . You have to take the good with the bad. Mom life is hard life. But those hard times will pass. It’ll get a little easier, I think 3s are fun. Mine is 3, she’s sassy in a different way. New adventures will come up. You’ll be okay❤ also you should probably flip her seat to face foreign, she’ll love it more. Obviously as long as she’s tall enough for it.

Honestly hard is not even a word to describe what we as mothers go through on daily basis. We as women were never supposed to raise children on our own. I'm not even gonna mention our partners because if you're lucky enough he'll be a hands-on dad but many of us are not lucky enough to even get that help. It takes a VILLAGE to raise a child. Back in the day, mothers would leave their kid with their cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends so they can go and crop the fields and what not. THAT was a standard and normal way of raising kids. People you grew up with and even neighbours would help out until the mother comes back from the field and can take over. Now a days we obviously don't have that help and that's why it's super overwhelming for a mother to go through SO many emotions in a day because most of the time we don't even have time to process what just happened. I'm glad you talk about this. I myself am struggling with my 3.5 year old daughter. Just when I thought the terrible two's were over with...here comes the horrible 3's! She is a handful alright. So much attitude and sass. I mean I guess what she's going through is normal it's just A LOT as you said. Sometimes we just need a breather and we don't even get it 😢 I pray for you and all mamas out there ❤🙏🌷

It kind of breaks my heart to hear you talk about how things are difficult with your daughter while she’s right there with you in the car and she can hear everything. You are a great mom and being a mom is so hard, you know your child best and you do what you think is best for your family. But I think that if I had been Sage in that moment, this would have made me feel sad.

Are you fr? When sage is older she will a million gazillion percent understand. I'm 25 and I'm grown enough to understand that my mom is allowed to feel tired, being a mom is the hardest job in the world. Omg and I'm sure I drain my mom's energy lol 😆 but she loves me and I love her 💕 it's not that serious

The fact that this comment got any likes let’s me know how many haters and negative people there are out there! I pray you don’t have kids because this level of ignorance is sad if you’re responsible for another human. How many things do you remember from that age…a conversation like that was probably had in front of you and not even your SUBCONSCIOUS would remember. This comment was so uncalled for.

I just realized she's still rear facing in the carseat. I have already changed my child to forward facing when he turned 1. Is that odd or am I doing something wrong?
@HealthNutNutrition
@HealthNutNutrition Год назад
After doing a lot of research on this subject it seems that many babies are moved to front facing way too soon. You should follow the IG account safeinseat she's amazing. It has to do a lot with their spine and how their body would move if there was an accident and forward facing can be very dangerous. I know there is a lot of pressure to turn your baby around but I plan to keep Sage back facing for a while.

Maybe instead of taking Sage on a smoothy date when she's emotional, take her to a park to climb on the play equipment and have free play in the fresh air and sunshine. Understandably, she might instead just need a good nap.
