I remember watching these championships with my grandpa. Though he didn’t understand anything being said due to him being from Kazakhstan, his favorite player always was Ronnie. He always called him Sullivan with a very funny accent. Seeing this video made me drop a tear or two. Thank you for this great video about Ronnie :)

Ronnie has to cope with pressures no other player has to deal with and he is Snooker in a lot of peoples eyes. With all his own troubles coupled with the pressure that comes with being the flag bearer for Snooker, a weaker person/player would've crumbled and give up a long time ago so it shows the true character of the man and how much love he has for the game. Legend!

Then he came back in 2013 and defended his world title, class.

I love the shot at 2:06, where you see him walking towards the board and his name is on there for three different titles :) A truly amazing man and I hope to see much more of him. He got me into Snooker just a few days ago and I am beyond impressed. What a freaking legend.

Ronnie is a special sportsman. He has the genius but is quite open about the fact that snooker is not his life. Yet he can still win major tournaments when he is not completely devoted to it. Not many in sport have that luxury, rather they devote decades of their life to the sport and then retire. Ronnie, is clearly the most gifted snooker player in history so I do not blame him for enjoying his life as well. He probably win the world championship again and possibly twice but if he does not it doesn't matter because he has nothing to prove.

Going to be a very sad sight when he actually retires for real. Seriously the man will literally never be touched in terms of how he plays the game and how naturally talented the man is. No matter what way they try butter it up there will be nobody like this guy ever.

The thing which makes Ronnie O'sullivan great for Snooker is that, his style of looking the game and probably his perspective of life. He does not care about what people thinks/wants. Sometimes he wants to win and plays the game for winning in a more logical way. However other times, he just plays the game for just having fun in his way. And his style of having fun can be ridiculous or silly for other players or fans, but sometimes he wants to play the game like this. He can do some unbelievable moves/shots for the fans while having fun in his way. I guess this is more related to his way of life than the game. And I think, this is what makes him special or unique which probably can not be matched/replaced by any other player like Judd Trump or Mark Selby, and it is not even close. Other players generally play to win, but O'sullivan plays the game how he wants. Since he has the ability/talent to beat any opponent without too much concentration, he can play the way how he likes.

Snooker without Ronnie, is like a car with no fuel, it doesn't work...

Think of Ronnie what you may but there has never been or ever will be a more naturally gifted, exciting snooker player ever to grace the baize. He may not (yet) have won the most world titles but on form he's an unplayable, left or right handed genius. Even now in his 40s.

A lot of players wouldn't come out and say it but I bet some of them would be glad to see him retire there are only a few players that have a chance against him the rest just make the numbers up if Ronnie enters a tournament and he's up for it he wins it if he has the hunger for it he would win every tournament he is on a much higher level its a privilege to watch him play Lee Hambleton from Sheffield

And with all these lows and setbacks with off the table issues and mental health problems he fought on and the greatest player ever in Ronnie O'Sullivan wins 20 majors 37 ranking titles the most premier leagues the most centuries and 147s keeping hendry Higgins Williams Selby robbo ding trump now Wilson amongst others at bay entertaining us for decades keeping snooker afloat in the most competitive era ever keeping sponsors happy and viewing figures up all on his own terms never been a slave to the game or politically perfect..... He returned to world number 1 at 43 winning the inaugural coral series and at 44 he wins the world's again for the 6th time in a format he does not enjoy his achievements are like his longevity simply legendary and this video makes his achievements so much sweeter🔥without Ron there is no snooker viewings figures collapse and sponsors jog on....... He is snooker and if he wants it he will win much more🙏his aura and presence is unique nobody like him everything he does makes headlines for snooker 🔥

Y'know, say what you want about this man, he's still a human who has a tremendous amount of talent in the game, and has achieved all you'd ever want to achieve in the game and more. He doesn't need to break records to be the Greatest Of All Time because he already is. Record after record over the last few years has cemeted this. But, at the end of the day, he's just human, and as a human he has problems, and those problems had caused a whole world of pain that not many would understand unless you've felt it yourself.

People love to say 'No one player is bigger than the sport', but that is absolute nonsense. Ronnie is far bigger than the sport of snooker and he makes snooker what it is Without Ronnie, snooker is lost. Ronnie doesn't need snooker, but snooker definitely needs Ronnie
