Plot twist: The guy explaining is also an animatronic. Joke aside, this is insanely impressive. I feel like I half-way have to remind myself that this is NOT a human. Some of the stuff it does looks really realistic.

tiny potato Sophia is an AI animatronic but she looks kinda unrealistic so no hair or skin etc Edit: she did have skin but weird facial expressions also she talked about dominating the human race
@Super Hot Dolls Well yes it's true that right now AI is just scripts put together. Maybe when or if we get real AGI we'll be able to call it real AI but still Sophia's the closest we are from AI.
Except for Joe Biden. If he met this mannequin that moves very lifelike he would say ..Hey ! Did you vote for me in the 2020 election? By the way , I thought you were dead !
the movement is SO smooth! usually when you see an animatronic, they are very robotic and it ruins all the magic even if the face is realistic, however this is phenomenal! it's sooo awesome! amazing job. i'm very excited to see what they build next.
Garner Holt isn't the only company making animatronics. You just missed by a few days a convention where a dozen or so of these companies were showing their wares.
Idk we already barely get any security as it is and in another hundred years nothing at all will be private.... Still kind of late though but we do have some privacy still.
The program here is a demonstration. Like a TV in a store where they put the colors to saturated. I have no worries once the final show is programmed that they'll do something more natural and subtle.
No matter how realistic they look there's always something that doesn't quite fool the eye. I can't quite put my finger on what that is, but this is still amazing!
EvtheNev It's too smooth and fluid, like an animated character in a Pixar movie. Human movement is spontaneous and erratic. Just compare how Abe moves his head with how Norm moves his head. Norm's head snaps around quickly as he talks. Abe's head moves slowly and fluidly.
EvtheNev it’s the material and lighting that gives it away.... there is no sheen on the skin which makes it looks real... I see it as rubber latex or whatever material they use... so I get where you are coming from.
its to smooth the ears arent that good (there bottom middle and outer rim is perfect but the didnt do cetiant details that can throw it out or make it look wierd
It legit sometimes looks like Lincoln is actually listening which is scary. Like at 4:50 he looks like he nods when the guys said” it’s been tough but had amazing people to help”
Yeah, thought so too. I mean it looks so nice, more expressive, then any human can actually be. I kinda wish they'd hooked it up to some conversational AI with some kinda emotion simulation - would be sooo cool.
Very random and sometimes scary. Imagine being alone where it be only you and the interactive sculptures 😮 It was cutting-edge achievement in science so kudos to the brilliant company but I hope they would toning down the movements, oftentimes it was downright terrifying

Sam Hansen maybe but the pictures are somber due to long exposure, apparently he was a man who smiled quite often. So his personality is quite unknown.
Live4love-22 :-P I don't really believe that his personality is particularly relevant. People back then thought different than people now, and no matter how progressive he was, I doubt he would appreciate it. But there is no way of knowing, I suppose.
Combine this head with a body like the one developed by Boston Dynamics and equip it with the best Artificial Intelligence and you will have the closest humanlike android.
