Great presentation. When in AED mode, there is also an administrative function that can be implemented to enhance the analysis sequence. When activated, the analyze button is pushed and analysis will take place for about 4 seconds followed by either 15 or 30 beats pre-shock, then pauses so the defib button can be pushed. This helps minimize hands-off time and serves as a great prompt to keep compressions going while charging.
Yes, but South King Fire made the decision to not allow medics to transcutaneously pace patients and as such ordered LIFEPAK 12s without a pacer. Physio-Control designed the LIFEPAK 15 so that the Pacer controls are still present on the front panel but can be disabled so pacing cannot be done. South King Fire has stuck with its decision to not allow medics to pace so they have chosen the option to disable the pacer on their 15s.
