Thank you for all the work you do on this channel, amazing content. I am stuck, need help. I live in Denver, Colorado. In the process of remodeling the basement about 1,000-1,200 sqft. Can’t decide what product to go with for the floor. Currently the whole upstairs in real oak hardwood. Since we have 2 small kids, and 2 dogs we decided carpet is probably out, even though it’s a great option for the basement. I started to look into LVPs, but options of quality, looks, durability gets overwhelming. Need something that would look and feel top notch, maximum scratch and dent resistance. What/which one would you recommend? Is it better to just go with a real hardwood in the basement, or not recommend? Thanks a lot

Thanks for the video...very helpful. I'm doing a laundry room. Is it suggested to do the entire floor before cabinets to in, or put cabinets in first and the flooring install up to the footprint?
I've looked at several of your informative videos on RU-vid. They have been very helpful in narrowing the flooring options for a 2,600 square foot house in Memphis, TN. I really like the looks of Home Depot’s, LifeProof vinyl waterproof, engineered, bamboo flooring. Is the LifeProof engineered bamboo flooring as durable amd as easy to install as the their other products?
Joe, I want to install LVP in my basement. Very smooth concrete, but people keep saying if it's not perfectly level, there will be air gaps. I don't want to spend all this money to have air gaps. I honestly thing it's level, but not sure if it's 100% perfectly level? What should I do? Would a solid core floor give me trouble? Should I look for a floor with more flex in case of small imperfections? Appreciate your incite! Frank
More flex will always be more forgiving but a lot of times the more flexible are not as strong. However if you feel your floor is pretty flat than you’re probably all right with vinyl. If it’s not perfect but the imperfection is gradual than it’s not a big deal, but if it’s imperfection is over a short distance that’s when you’ll have more problems. But if you have those drastic imperfections or your you want piece of mind it’s easily corrected with self leveling concrete
(Edit: NOT a comp product, do they have one that is? And how would it compare.) We have a Lumber Liquidators store nearby. A comparable product should be CoreLuxe. Any experience with this product? And if so, how would it compare to these two?
I'm just not a big fan of Lumber Liquidators products. I have installed them for clients that supplied them for me and I have never had any problems. I just don't know if they're as safe and how trustworthy Lumber Liquidators is in honoring warranties if you did have problem. Ever since the scandals they have had with there laminate I have tried to stay away from them.
No you probably don’t need it but Nucore allows an underlayment called Sentinel they sell at floor n decor. If your time isn’t flat then go with the pad.
