Bought a couple lifetime coolers a little while back. In hot weather the ice retention is bad. Outside temp 90 to 106 it won't hold ice outside in shade, covered for more that two days after pre chilling for a few days on ice. I'm sure in cooler weather like snow country it will keep but not a hot climate. I will say they are well built but they won't keep ice when needed. Let's just say I won't take it camping even in cold weather, can't count on it when needed.
That sucks to hear! Been looking at a few of these and from the reviews I’ve seen, the 28qt seems to hold a minimum of 3 days over 80 and the 55 and bigger hold for minimum of 5 days over 80. Besides the original 55qt where the gasket was on the cooler not the lid. Which cooler did you get so I know to avoid or double down on some research?
Saw these at my local Walmart and thought they looked surprisingly similar to the Roam Adventure Co water cooler but guess these are the more affordable alternative.
Yep. It’s a heck of a deal. We did not have the price when we started testing them. I assumed they would cost higher. When we finally found out the cost, we were impressed.
On Lifetime’s site, this blue one is $159. Scroll down to bottom of coolers list and there is another model number that Lifetime says is only a color difference from the “High Performance” model. It’s $124.99. Model 91230
Just bought one at walmart for $78 (Aug 22). I would say the spigot leaking due to the contact with tailgate is a defect. I notice that my spigot has a tab at the bottom to prevent the button being pushed. However, if your gate is a little high it would be pressed. The entire spigot assembly is recessed behind the cooler wall so not sure what happened in your situation. I have a yeti and I like the molded hand grabs if you chose to not use the rope carry. This one does not have an alternative grab point. Bummer.... Lifetime has always taken care of me on warranty claims with plastic storage units so Im sure CS will be great if I ever have a problem. Finally, dont apologize for wanting USA made gear. I want to support the home team!
