Just picked one of these up today. Had the Lifetime Yukon ordered from Walmart but they cancelled the order saying it was out of stock. Found the Tamarack Pro on sale at another Walmart and now I'm glad the Yukon was canceled, as it saved me $233!!! I immediately added a mount for my fish finder, mounted the transducer, and added a retractable clothesline system for my anchor. Finally added a matt for my dog in the back well area. Taking it out on Saturday morning.
Really I see those Yukons at several Walmart and Dicks in Ohio. I got a Tamarack pro instead due I have to use j bars. I mounted the fish finder to the lid and put the Yakattack Nocqua Battery in the compartment
Nice set up, I have the boat, my wife has the same paddle. I mounted the fish finder on the lid and put the Yakattack Nocqua battery in the compartment. I need bungees in my crate
I have same Tamarack Pro. I wired transducer in the hull in the middle glued to the bottom. Also battery in a small plastic case that is glued to the bottom inside as well as securely fastened. Special wiring of both waterproof up to side. I use a Garmin Striker 4 (100 bucks) it has a screw on mount included no need to rail. I also side mounted a water snake electric motor. Many RU-vid videos on how to do this. Cheers One more thing. I added snap on paddle mounts for quicker attaching
Nice mods. I've been loving my tamarack pro! Had it for less than a month but already have some great memories from it! I'm just now starting to add some odds and ends to it like more pad eyes.
Thanks for ALL the INFO. Short sweet to the point for basic knowledge to someone like me who is 50 years old and new to the sport. Looking forward for more YOUR modification videos
love this review man! I watched this before I got my kayak and here I am again after buying it today and just order my seat riser before I even touched the water !
Just got a Ascend H12 for Father's Day! Supper stoked to get it out on the water. I will be doing mods and upgrades to it as well.. first thing is to raise the seat. Great Video man! 🔥👊🏼👊🏼
Use some Yak Bungee End mounts on the paddle holders stays, instead of the cheap bungee holders that come with it. The holders will let water get in, while the Yak end mounts can be mounted to the Kayak, with bolts, and a plastic/rubber washer, so water will not get in. Just cut off the ends of the bungee's to length, and put the ends into the Bungee end mounts and slide the round retainer in... Just use the handles to pick up the kayak, if you use the paddle holder bungee, the retainers will pull off! I was thinking of a bike bottle holder for a cup holder on the inside wall of the kayak.
The pencil pouch idea was brilliant!! Never would have thought about that! Is that kayak sturdy enough for you to stand up? I’m 6’4 250lbs and I’ve been looking into getting a kayak that’s stable enough for someone my size to stand and fish
I stand up in it occasionally but I wouldn’t recommend it for 250 pounds at all. However you can build some stabilizers on the side and they work great.
Definitely saving this video!!! I have a sundolphin ss 10 and I have been wanting to make if more convenient and comfortable to use. Awesome video man!
I bought this kayak from Walmart and loved it. Unfortunately Walmart doesnt care about the condition they are in or the people that ship it dont care either and it came destroyed. Couldnt keep it because Lifetime told me the damage that was done couldve caused even more damage or kayak breaking on the water. It is damn good for the price range if anyone is interested just get it in person. I went and bought a bonafide afterwards, busted my ass to get it. Some nice important tips, some of them I use now.
My first angler kayak was the lifetime tamarack I've since upgraded to the 3 waters big fish 105 and gave my 13 year old daughter the tamarack cause she is a diehard bass fishing fanatic like myself. And from what I've seen so far into the video with that pro is some very good from the retail upgrades over the original. One of my main issue's with the original was the seat cause of my back. And also I wasn't a fan of just how much lack of tools area it had so you had to be crafty and think outside the box. So just with what I've seen so far it's looking very superior over the original tamarack. Nice set up bud. And I've been wanting to start taking video just for myself while out fishing. What's the best reasonable priced go pro you would recommend? I've old school and have very little knowledge of electronic stuff lol.
I’ve been having a lot of fun in mine but keep staring at it trying to decide where best to place my anchor trolly. I saw where a guy routed his through the paddle holder groove and it worked great, but he sacrificed the spot I’m wanting to store the stick anchor and I’m not sure if it’s smart to mount it lower below that? I’m also going to add a skeg over getting whirled around every time I stop paddling in the lakes here. Thanks for posting ideas.
I have the plain tamarack angler. I wish i had yours! But i still have over $600 invested in it. The base price from walmart was $350 year before last. Can you stand up in the pro? I sure cant and im as stable as a billy goat.
Any tips for transporting the kayak in a short bed tundra after all these mods? definitely adding the milk crate. Also, anyone have current links for these seat risers?
Where did you pick up your kayak? I’m moving to Jefferson Georgia soon and will be picking up a kayak the first day I get there. Wondering which places have the best selection?
can you also do a 1yr update review, how you like it since you have it for a yr, been checking this one out too since it is not too heavy and it wil fit very good on my roof rack, since you have it for a yr what would you change/mods to make it better , thanks
The 3D printed seat risers link says the site is unavailable. Can you please tell me where else I might be able to find them? I would really appreciate it!
These dont work on the teton pro, but I've made a second design that works on the teton pro: rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575378759&campid=5338273189&customid=&icep_item=255007177244&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&toolid=11111
@@charlieh9671 I still make them, just currently sold out on ebay. If you check Facebook market place I still might have some available through there. Won't have it available in both eBay and Facebook for about a week maybe, until I can build up more inventory.
I was wondering if you ever owned the lifetime teton. The reason I am asking is I would like to buy the tamarack pro but can seem to find one and the teton is on sale for 328.00 at Dicks sporting goods.
@@GeorgiaBassmaster yeah I did see that video after I sent you the questions. Is it worth waiting it out to find the tamarack pro or should I just get the teton. Thank you and I am going to subscribe to your channel.
What’s going on with not seeing dislikes. ?? I liked it…. But I wanna know how many disliked it in case you’re new to something… doesn’t mean it’s great. What the……??
