this beat is 98 bpm and diamonds is 97 bpm. some other contenders to be on this song are champion and waves. they’re not in C major though, like this beat is though. but the verse from diamonds is in G major, so it’s also out of key. not sure how it would sound with those other verses though

If drake never existed, Kanye wouldn’t be going as hard as he has been. Sometimes the best pieces of work come from trying to best someone else that’s considered the best at the moment and Kanye definitely feels like Drake is his competition.
What’s crazy is that the original song is still so nostalgic for me. Like this is fire, but nothing can beat the original for me regardless of how much better it could’ve been. It’s an iconic piece of music history.
this is a wild example of music theory cuz at least for me, this diamonds verse sounds way different on the lift yourself beat than it did on the diamonds beat.
