@@johnadamski9913 Is there anything to explain? I think it was terribly inhumane to not raise and bury all the bodies that where trapped inside the ship.
I watched and was very moved by another of your videos in and around this topic. I am coming to believe that some of the inspiration for this work stems directly from the wishes/whispers of those who died and those that survived. It is almost an echo of the dignity of a dying plea. "Learn from our sacrifice and don't forget us." Very compelling. Thank you.
I`m now a 41 years old German. A closed friend from my school time, as i was 14 in 1994 and in the 7th class in the school, lost his Mom on that ship as his Mom was on a small holiday trip with her friend. He decide to stay in the uncles house in Germany, cause he dont want do this trip together with his Mom and her new friend. This decision save probably his life. As the news displays in the radio and TV about that sinking from the Estonia he come to me and reports me that. We both was sitting on the floor from the livingroom in front of the TV and was holding us in our arms and cry a lot of hours ... I will never forget these moments in my life. I cant describe here what we was feeling togehther ... so sad that all. And the time after with that political scandal and a Government which will hide probably military secrets or military accidents with a sub and the Estonia until now. So much death humans and all families of that cant find her silence. Normally I never comments such hard things, but these raise animation from you makes me cry and give me hope for the future that anyone from that government or European Community decide to raise the Estonia that all bodies and families can find her piece. Thank you so much.
They should have done this the very next day, such a shame to leave them all there. It bothers me to think of these people who tried so hard to escape the boat, only to be left trapped in this watery grave forever. Those divers said they would have had no problem bringing most up, aside for those who couldn't be moved. Great job with the animation!
@@o.h2202 yes it did but it remains sunk because the m16 sweden estonia and nato would still have alot of explaining to do also there was a heavly damaged us sub in scottland from a exercise in the baltic 2 weeks after the estonia sank
Estonia lays on soft clay and moves a bit every year. Its weight causes a risk of it sinking down in the clay so it would be great if the ship is raised up soon.
@@Valesteria1783 it isn’t, it would be disrespectful to the dead and would be incredibly costly and creepy, and besides, the ship is 26 years old, and probably haunted, no one would want to sail on it
I just recently learned that a 4 meter by 1.2 meter gash was found that appears to be pushed in by some immense force. This relatively new development warrants further investigation. No matter what, it’s bloody tragic.
@@fv1zn You realize how dumb it sounds, its just as stupid as if Russia lost its vessel if it was torpedoed by americans? No one would hide it, since Russia was never friend of Finland/Sweden or whatever. It sounds even worse than those that think that 9/11 was inside job by jews, lmfao.
@@fv1zn And why do you think that till this day noone said that its Russian fault? And how can you be sure than the hole itself in ship wasnt made after it was sunk just to get something out that was inside, which is why Sweden wanted to cover entire ship concrete. Even Britain approved that its illegal do to searches in that area, not suspicious at all.
@@Xover112 At this point it is worse to think 9/11 was not an inside job lmao. I'm guessing you are the type of person to google something and read for about 5 minutes and thinks he knows everything...
There might be many Ladas in there. When the ship is raised we'll finally know what cars, buses and trucks were destroyed during the fateful night of the sinking.
@@jerrossclarito6119 Well we know it wasnt just an accident what sunk the ship, if the bow visor would be the only reason the boat wouldnt sink so fastly and there would be an air bubble in the boat. There is confirmed there is an another hole and that can explain why the boat sunk so fast. Here is a video clip from 2019 made document where they went to investigate under German flag so they found a whole not even near the bow visor. It's a fact, that bow visor wasn't the only reason. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t1Z4ID7git4.html :)
@@jerrossclarito6119 both, the bow visor was broken up but it wasnt the only reason. in the document some survivors say they heard a loud boom or like driving through ice. and one of the survivors cabinet was under car deck and when that happened he saw water coming out of the ceiling not from upstairs where the car deck with the bow visor was and they saw a big white cylinder in the water in the dark.
After The Threaty Of Estonia Was Signed This Is Against The Law. They Decided To Leave It There As A Grave For The 852 Who Perished That Night. But A Very Good Animation btw. Also It Was Not That Far Away From Sweden Or Estonia So I Would Like To See Land In The Background.😁 Edit: i think they would put it upright before lifting it up
christ on his throne are you listening to how daft you sound ? there are 852 restless souls currently stuck underwater on a shipwreck & the loved ones of the people who went down with the Estonia wants a grave for their loved ones, even worse is the familys of the of those who went down CANT even visit the wreck site without getting immediately arrested once they return to shore , i didnt lose anyone in the estonia catastrophy but this is bullshit that loved ones doesnt have a grave to visit , i bet if you lost a loved one that night you would change your mind the korean goverment took 3 years to raise MS sewol the swedish goverment still havent even figured out what made the MS Estonia sink only some bullshit explanation about the visor falling off at random for the first time in history id say i trust the koreans more then my own goverment
Basically, the Swedish and Finnish government forbid it since it still has the bodies of the dead on it, and it would be unrepairable and disrespectful
@@rBennich my government (Estonia) signed the agreement aswell, but they did initiate a new research plan with 3 million euros the investigate the sinking.
They covered it in rock's the ship is now technically under a mountain. It's because the Swedish government is hiding Nuclear load that Estonia stole from Russia and secretly transported them on M/S Estonia. Sweden and Estonia got two warnings before the accident the third warning they got, came an hour before the ship was loaded and leaved the port. It said something like this "We know what you're doing on M/S Estonia, if you don't stop it immediately you're going to have a some great responsibilities for it". I believe that Russia sunk the ship because they did not want Sweden to get secret and powerful Nuclear technology. the ship is believed to sunk due to an collasion whit a soviet submarine, first hitting the bow gate and causing the bow visor to broke off. And then it would also may have some big reasons whit the hole on the side.
KURSK was raised very soon, and i belive that it was pure accident...so why they did not raise Estonia if it was pure accident🤔 But we all know that it was not accident..it was crime.
Kursh was nuclear sub, man y military secrets ang other reason, ms estonia is just pasenger prame, i think no need pull out it, other question why swedish goverment dont lift dead People in that year when it sunk
The starboard side of the ship should be interesting. What is the visible damage? And also the trucks on board. What products where the trucks carrying?
Its actually illegal. To raise the estonia. Said by the finnish and estonian goverment, because its all made by crime if you want to raise it, you just may go into jail. The finnish coast guard will be guarding the area to not let you raise it. It was a cover up crime.
@@bruhmoment5183 have you not seen the end of the Estonia documentary where the turva, Finnish coast guard vessel allowed them (German vessel on international waters) position themselves above the wreck and they had two swedes aboard (The other nations of the people on the ship hadn’t signed the peace treaty of the wreck) so them two got put in the slammer, but back to the wreck, they dropped an R.O.V down to inspect the wreck and the damage was reported and then coastguard aircraft told them to leave the area after they got evidence all was okay.
We have best conditions for lifting the Estonia: Just 85 meters deep, good condition of the wreck and it will not become that expansive as it looks. Costa Concordia was much more expensive. There are no reasons not to lift Estonia. Its so important to become clear with this tragedy. Everybody wants it, excluding some Swedish guys.....
The thing is the swedes were smuggling soviet technology so they don’t want the wreck to be recovered or dived to because the items will be discovered.
I'm honestly very interested in what would happen if such attempt was made. Would Estonia be able to withstand being raised, or would she break down after 27 years under water and simply split into multiple parts?
@@poddenlapodd6649 cant be compared. The submarine was damaged by implosion and probably also by some type of event. Also they took it up with hooks as it is in such a depth they couldnt be very precise. Estonia has some damage and corrosion but it cant be compared
@@potato1907 Vasa is wooden right? I am not an expert but there are many things going on down there. There is life, microorganisms, there is oxygen and also all is based on temperature so if its something in very cold waters with low oxygen supply it can be there longer. Also some of these ships got under mud and mud preserves very well because oxygen gets depleted under mud.
Tho it would be nice to bring her back i feel like it would be like disturbing a resting site or burial ground not to mention the strain lifting something like that would cause on the possibility very unstable superstructure i think Estonia should remain where she is shes been there for over 26 years and though again it would be fantastic to finally get to the bottom of it all i think it would be kinda disrespectful to all who lost their lives in this extremely tragic disaster and due to the harshness of the baltic sea and the way she came to rest the ship may be too weak to raise i mean no disrespect to to anyone affected by the horrendous tragedy my heart pours out to all the families and friends still affected by it but i think we should let Estonia sleep
@@astraalimatkustaja923 as stated above in line 1 and line 8 tho it would be nice to bring her back and get to the bottom of it all raising her would probably do more damage then good the structural integrity cannot be guaranteed after 26 years the VDF has been recovered and survivers have told their account of the disaster and there is not a lot more we can know about the already reported damage to the bow visor or the gash in the ship as for the bodies there are none left to recover as after 5 years or 7 years max they would have decomposed the families have already laid their relatives to rest you also have to take into consideration the toll it would take on their mental health and wellbeing the dead should not be disturbed this is not an argument this is my opinion and tho i respect yours is still stand by my statement above Estonia should not be moved out of respect for her and the passengers she carried to the after life...
@@Gary-mv4gp Dont talk about relatives laying them to rest, they never have never will rest until they are buried in the soil in which they were born, neither will any Estonian ever forget about this incident, every person I know, would agree with buying the remains in the ground and lifting the ship. I bet many would donate hundreds of euros for the cause.
@@Gary-mv4gp So the 69 meter-long warship Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in Stockholm harbor in 1628 and was salvaged 333 years later in 1961, and it's been put back together. Estonia should be easy to recover with todays tech. But the swedish government don't want to reveal the truth, do they?
The big mistake of the politicians must finally be corrected. To solve the two questions: one very big outward bent hole, one new hole found in the side hull. I am Dutch, any Dutch hauling firm can do it. They did it with the Kursk, too, huge job.
That will be impossible to start cars cause they are all broken and rusted and other thing the keys are lost and other thing the engine will not work anymore and other thing the car gas will have disapeared a long time
If that does happen it needs stuff under the hull to keep her afloat and what gonna happen to her when shes in a dry Dock is she gonna be fixed a replica built a hotel/museums like queen mary or scraped?
People need to protest and get this raised ! If South Korea can raise the sunken Sewol ferry boat then Estonia can be raised to ! Enough with the lies ! Raise Estonia !

@@sookiethedookie443 Yes! It would have bin cheaper to recover the bodys some days after the sinking but for some reason it was not done Now it is time to do what should have bin done a long time ago It will be expensive I know and it should be Swedens responsibility to pay everything
@@Boypogikami132 well you are completely wrong, they signed a treaty in 1995, and article 3 clearly states “The contracting parties agree that the MS Estonia shall not be raised”
That's a great animation. But I think it would be more involved then two ships with cable crane's. Lifting it. It was deemed a burial tomb. But it is eventually gonna start leaking fuel as well as all the cargo n trucks, vehicles as erodes away. Sweden has some of the best salvage companies in the world.
With the weight of the water inside, and concrete on it, Not too sure you could lift her with cranes, but the costa concordia laid in almost the same way, they welded tanks to it, and filled it with air, so it rose to the surface on its own
But Concordia was only partially submerged and on coastal waters. The bigger issue with Estonia is it’s in open waters in one of the most hospitable seas. The operation probably would be the most difficult and expensive ever conducted. The timing would have to be perfect when there is no chance of a storms ruining the operation which could take weeks to refloat and secure on a makeshift barge. And I haven’t even gotten to the worst part, the bodies. That’s maybe around 400-500 remains still inside and it will be a long and mentally disturbing process for divers and recovery teams. If you ever get the chance, check out the video on the body recovery of MV St Thomas Aquinas. The mental strain the operation has on the Phillipino dive teams is dreadful and disturbing if you choose to view the video
Rootsi valitsus keeldus muidugi..........................
This would have been the best solution to find out what exactly happened. And with today's DNA technology. Can they probably find out who the person is just through the skeleton And it is after all that relatives can bring home their loved ones. And once the remains of all the people are gone and they can do a proper investigation of the boat. And determine the cause of the crash. And when there is 100% established cause then Estonia is scrapped. This will cost a lot but I think that all countries that were involved I should pay this. Unfortunately, I think that will never happen. The Swedish government will continue to obscure the cause
The fact that the governments refuse to lift the wreck up still nowdays is infuriating, at this point it's stupid to act like there is not something wrong about this event and the story isn't exactly what we have been told for decades.
