🌞Light🌞 is THE MOST IMPORTANT growth factor for plants. Not only it is the energy sources of plants, light also determines the uptake of water, nutrients and other growth factors. In this two parts series, we are going to dive deep into the science of light and how we, as plant growers, to efficiently use light to maximize plant growth. 🌳🌲🌴🌻🌹
In part one, we'll discuss:
🌿 What is light
🌿How do plants use light
🌿How to determine light intensity
🌿Understand natural light

Finally a video that is making sense 👏 I was really confused about the lights and all the scientific explanation that I found and I didn't never understand 😅. I didn't even know that the lumens are for the human eyes and the plants are not even effected by that....I have a light of 50000 lumens for my plant room, that I can't even look at 🤣 I think I good enough for my plants.

This is such an amazing video. You covered so much information but compiled it in a way that it was easy to digest! My absolute favorite part was when discussing the north window, you suggested maybe a ZZ plant or snake plant... then added that NO PLANT wants low light. 😂😂😂😂 You are brilliant 🙌🏽

I'm glad you found this easy to digest. I was so afraid that this is going to be too technical. And yes. Literally zero plants on the planet of earth would want to live with no light if there's a choice (although some have evolved to do so). 😅

I really enjoyed this straight forward layman’s tutorial on what plants need in lighting and how we need to supply it . I wonder Amanda if you have a par meter ? I am very much looking forward to your next video on light .

Thank you for your kind words. I DID have a PAR meter but my dog totally destroyed it! 🐶😳 I haven't purchased another one since then.

I grow almost all my plants in north facing windows because that’s where most of my windows are. Many of them grow quite well including, dracaena, pothos, philodendron, hoya carnosa, agleonema & even string of hearts. I supply extra light in the winter. But the rest of the year it isn’t necessary. I think it works because my windows are wall to wall, floor to ceiling & at the peak my ceiling is about 30ft tall. So in spite of being north facing, the windows are absolutely massive & mostly unobstructed. My only plant that really seems to need more light is my ficus elastica

That's awesome!!!! Yea the set up of your house definitely make a difference. I can only wish for floor to ceiling windows.... May be one day! 😅
