The Toaks 450ml cup is better for two reasons. The handle is better with a tier for your ring finger which makes holding it when filled more comfortable, and it's only $20. For another $5 you get a lid.
Nice video. I got the TOAKS Titanium 450ml Cup. Fits nicely in my packs water bottle holder and can fit a 1L smart water bottle in it. Because the handles heat up on the stove, I use two binder clips (paper clips) and wire to make a bail handle.
I managed to pick my titan cup up for $15. It was a screw up on the part of the store, and they had to honor it. I do like it as well, nice little cup!
it is a nice cup thanks for sharing I appreciate you for taking your time to bring this cup to us keep up with your great reviews wish you and your family the very best until next time my friend
Trying my best to get to see all of your great videos. This cup is a little teensy weensy bit on the higher priced side for a lil cup , but I have seen a video where a good sized stewing pot for use on an open fire was made from tree bark worked very also.
The Toaks 450 ml is a far better deal at around $20. My Toaks titanium gear just keeps working and I've never had a issue with any of it. Thank you for the review though.
I would make my own cups for camping, I have tons of titanium sheet metal, but i don't know how to get the bottom rounded, i suppose I could, it wont look near as good as the one on this video, i but i guess it don't have to be, i'll give it a try some day.
you should make a reflectix cozy for it. Ti heats up really fast, and cools off equally fast. I personally carry a 400 ml Evernew cup that's only about 2" tall, but 4" in diameter. It's perfect for fitting inside almost any other pot which allows me to heat water in it for coffee, which then frees up my big pot to make my breakfast while I'm drinking coffee. Price is one of the downsides to all Ti. But you can find less expensive lines than MSR. Nice review as usual. Cheers! DonP
if this cup had measurments it wou;d be truly perfect. good 1 person size meal. light weight. high quality. and fits a small 110g canister their pocket rocket 2 and a lighter. whats not to love about this set up. ive been using it for about 3 years now after i wanted to try something other than a jet boil
the Toaks 450ml nests in it even better. It has even a larger inside to store other things just like this one, just better :-). There's a lot less wasted space both inside and between the cup and pot.
How much weight one can shave from a cup :) If you're after lower weight, I would first look at some more bulky items :) It's almost like saying that toothbrush being UL can save some weight and it kind of made me smile thanks for that!! Having said that, I am glad it works for you!
Does a 230gram cannister nest inside it? With a BRS 3000 stove? Bic Lighter? For me its importen that my gear also takes little space, its not only weight. So I stick to my Primus 600ml Titanium pot where everyting nests inside the pot am using ;-)
Luke, Great review, informative and pithy. I have an earlier stainless steel model, cant find any longer. This cup nests with the Nalgene 400 ml. Bottle. S&H, Bill
A Good cup that could have been Great with a lid ! , curiously no after market titanium lids actually fit this , and the only quality lid to do it justice ,made of carbon fibre by Ruta Locura is no longer made
my toaks 550 can hold 19 ounces..mountain house only need 16 ounces. works great. 31$ on toaks websight..probably could have found it cheaper on amazon. weighs 2.6 ounces with the lid..add the BSR3000t stove 15$ and you have a 3.5 ounce cook set for 46$.
MSR make great products... their titanium pot doesn't have measurements either, that's why I don't own one... double wall cups are the way to go as well...(HOT COFFEE)
Nice cup, would be better if they included a lid tho, water boils faster with a lid, I use the Alpkit titanium cookware, slightly cheaper but they have excellent reviews and after sales. I want the titanium waterbottle next but they are very pricey! my Ti Kit will be complete tho lol. Nice review on it Luke, thanks for that ☺ atb Mark
I've found steel cups will but titanium cools so quickly the rim is always cool by the time I mix my coffee in it. I even bought those yellow lip thingies but gave them to my dad since I didn't need one.
Besides a means of knowing how much fluid you have in this titanium mug, a lid is a 'must have' on any camping/outdoors pot you want to heat stuff in'. Making this type of object from titanium is a terrible waste of a scarce metal - just saying.
True but there is a real big drop off after the first . I think you might want to read this before you buy titanium to replace your alzheimer causing aluminium "Consuming the nano-titanium dioxide was damaging or destroying the rats' DNA and chromosomes. The biological havoc continued as she repeated the studies again and again. It was a significant finding: The degrees of DNA damage and genetic instability can be "linked to all the big killers of man, namely cancer, heart disease, neurological disease and aging."~ Published by Business Insider a year ago
Thumbs down on the price. Titanium makes sense if you get more of it, and that means $$$. Think China. That Keith Chinese stuff is just as good. I will buy USA if the difference is not ridiculous, but the MSR price is really bad.
With TOGR being agenda free we don't sale products, don't have an amazon store and we aren't being paid by companies like a lot of other channels. It's assistance from good people like you who make this channel possible because purchasing this gear for the sake of a review costs a great deal of money. Money that isn't made back through ads/google. Then there are the adventures. These are aspects which you may not have considered but in the end, if a viewer wishes to help support the channel, I am greatly appreciated. - Luke
