A character that excels at comboing Rob vs a character that excels at edgeguarding Fox. Of course it would come down to last game, last stock, last hit. Best grand finals of the year.
I dont know why people say it’s a losing matchup against Fox. Zomba demonstrated beautifully that Rob can edgequard the shit out of him, and the moves using Rob’s arms have excellent frame data to rival Fox’s. It’s also extremely hard for Fox to challenge Rob’s falling Nair from bellow, making it near impossible to juggle Rob. What an amazing showdown.
It is a losing match up, Zomba was just more prepared than Light was for this set. His defense was phenomenal. Watch Light against Zomba years prior or against other ROBs and you'll see how badly he decimated them.
This set reminded me that I actually enjoy watching Ult when the players are actually playing the game, instead of camping which unfortunately is 90% of sets now with Steve. I hard went to Melee but I really only tune into Light sets because he plays hype, peoples champ fr.
Kudos to Zomba for sticking with Rob even when the stakes were as high as they were! Really hoping he keeps up whatever mentality changes he's made and wins his next grands!
@@alenshirvanyan473 I dnt go straight to the comments. Usually the very first comment always spoils so I’ve started scrolling so I can’t look at the comments. Plus RU-vid likes to transition comments now so I’d look on accident sometimes
Light’s had some banger sets recently, both close and not. His Smashcon set versus Marss was cool as fuck to watch, too. He’s just hype as fuck, win or lose.
Nothing that hype about Rob camping ledge spamming forward airs and lasers knowing fox has no spike to punish him for re-grabs, Zomba played so lame it was infuriating to watch. Only hype game was the last one.
Dang the way sonix came on the stage at game 10 and whispered in zomba’s ears, “ percent lead? You know what we do!” And proceeded to time him out with a 1% lead difference is INSANE! Zomba is a Shloberknock for losing to that 😂
Still one of my favorite MUs to watch. I love watching Fox facing off against Rob, where it looks like a sure win but then the tools from Rob makes it difficult
Imagine how dialed in and inside the game you have to be to get that grab on Light when he goes for the tomahawk grab in the last game like Zomba did. Waiting until the last second to see if they throw out a low auto-cancelled aerial and if they don't hit that shield grab. Watched it frame by frame and the reason it worked isn't because he was quicker, Rob's shield grab animation has him twist and shift his torso backwards a bit when he winds up for the grab. Light threw out grab first but his grab hitbox was active right when Rob's hurtbox shifted back from inputting the grab, so probably a matter of 2 frames.
Could there be a more fitting person to win a tournament called, "Shine"? A guy named "Light" who has a character that has a move with the name of "Shine".
Y’all I truly believe light is the best player in smash ultimate to date. I know he doesn’t win regularly but it’s moments like that last game that really showcase his peak.
This is one for the history books! Amazing fight. Truly fun to watch every engagement. A fight between 2 true scrappers and each , Zomba and Light are tacticians
