You know? One way they could’ve gotten that to work? L could’ve given himself something that would’ve simulated death, timed it to where it would’ve taken effect right when the Death Note used kill him had written him down to die, put him into stasis, have himself dug after a reasonable period of time, and secretly feed what he learned before he “died” to both sides, corroding Light Yagami’s entire infrastructure, exposing him to all anti-Kira factions from all fronts, and ending his reign of madness much quicker, resulting in much less tragic loss of life. But that’s just me talking. What do you think?
@@jackphillips3354 There's no way L could have avoided or faked his death. He was literally killed by the death god Rem. Being a Shinigami, Rem can see the real name of L and writes the name of L in his death note. There's no escaping death from a Shinigami.
@@ensarhasanic4963nah kira wouldnt be yelling at the top of his lungs that he won on L’s grave because that would be suspicious. Oh wait he did exactly that
@@awesomemango he did said that but he couldve developed feelings as a real friend even after L’s death he was bored in scenes with misa and Its like he’s totally uninterested in whats going.
Yeah not friend, but the only one he respected enough to challenge him. And he was right for those 5 years. But after everything went as he thought it would for half a decade after L's death he grew in hubris and kinda deitiezed L's greatness to in a way pay respect to his own victory over him and put Mello and N on a lower level. If Light was fully focused N made his presenced known, or at least became fully focused to the level he was after L made himself know and decided this was a threat and he needed to manipulate his police force and exterminate it without any potential issue happening he would have won. But he had grown too large in hubris, he didn't care about his own police force or father or truly considered them knowing him as Kira as a threat, didn't care about other people knowing he was Kira... he just saw that he was 90% of the way to winning over control of the world and decided no one could stop him and if they tried they'd lose because no one left could ever combine to challenge him.
The casting for the dub was brilliant. Brad and his Japanese counterpart sounded very close to each other. Brad sounds totally psycho by English-speaking standards.
Light waited for everyone to leave so he could personally give his best friend L one final twerk on his grave in honor of him…this anime is so wholesome
@@ishisahhThe only people who like the Brazilian dub are Brazilians. Europeans don’t like it, Asians don’t like it, and the rest of America doesn’t like it.
This is one of THE ONLY shows (ive watched hundreds of animes) that i enjoy the dub and sub Thoroughly. Miyanu mamoru does a fantastic job and is a talented singer. Brad swalie did a phenomenal job as Light, and given this was almost 15 years ago? The dub was way a head of its time. Both are a 10/10 and the show lives up to the hype. Both languages are a guarenteed hit
Agreed I watched death note when I was 5 when it 1st came out and 6 when it ended now im 21 and tbh its still a fantastic anime I even bought a life like death note at the Bristol anime and gaming con this month and I love it al9ng with a few other things like manga and clothing
*L comes out from a secret underground compartment* "Nice to see you admit it on live camera. I didn't think you'd actually be foolhardy enough to talk in a public place."
Japanese Light: Evil and menacing English Light: Psychotic and Devastated. Italian Light: Maniacal and Demonic Ryuk in both: “What the hell is wrong with this guy is he high on drugs??~” You know you're insane when even Ryuk is getting disturbed by how you are acting.
I'd say that the original voice acting sounds way more scary, while the english voice acting sounds crazier, but less intimidating. Both of these are very good actually.
You know I felt broken , empty, emotional when I saw L die! I knew right at that moment it was my first time crying for an anime character. L you were great I don't really care if y'all think I am joking and you might hate L , but I love him ❤
Same here, oh wait, never mind when i was little i cried for jibanyan from yokai wach, but L was the first human i cried over in anime. He was simply *perfect*
yeah but ryuuk is actually faithfull to his character till the end , he was really only an observer , when you focus on it you realize he only talks when asked smth (and even then he gives scarce informations on purpose) or to ask for apples
Light is one of the best charachters in anime. Most people would disagree and say "what he is evil how can you like him" but that's the point of his charachter. The same way people like hero charachters for being good and righteous i like light for being absolutely evil and being very good at it
Lol Light isn’t very smart. He plays stupid tries to talk when he can exercise his right to remain silent. He gave L and the police the notebook pretty much. He wrote Higuchi name in the notebook and with L beside him. If I was Light. I would not care what L thinks of him because without the notebook there is no proof he is Kira. I would just pretend to not notice L in school. No Judge in Japan or the USA would believe in the evidence to convict Light if he hasn’t shown REM or the notebook.
@@JoshuaYuan36 I thought the point was he wanted to beat L? He wanted to get close to L and kill him. Ignoring L wouldn't be defeating him in Light's mind
@@JoshuaYuan36 Light thought and did the same thing you told but L is smart he will still get to you and have the death note you are wrong light is genius he is smart even after L discovered the death note he manipulated rem and L and killed him and win if you were Light the chances are you would have been caught in like 4 or 5 episodes instead of death note having 37 episodes it would have been only 5 episodes and you would have been defeated and got killed by the shinigami way earlier. talk after you know idiot
I love how especially in the dub you can hear how lost Light really is in the end. He's saying he won, but he he just sounds like he's trying to convince himself of it. He sounds sad, pathetic, lonely, and even a tinge regretful. Even Ryuk almost seems to feel bad for him in this scene.
Regretful is too far, and even sad and pathetic is pushing it. I could agree with lonely since L was the only he recognized as intellectually equal, but he for sure is not regretful, he’s wayyyy past that stage at this point. Listen how he exclaims, with no hesitation, he’s going to kill the police too. Surely isn’t sad either, he’s feeling the best high an egotistical narcissist could feel; an enormous, long-lasting victory against their enemy. Pathetic, well.. that’s subjective. He sounds more prideful, hateful, cocky, and blinded by his delusions of grandeur.
The sub and dub are so different that when I saw this scene with subtitles, I didn’t realize the dubbed version is what started my love of Nowhere to Run. Thanks, death note.
people always hate on dubs for newer animes but DAMN whoever they got on light for the dub is literally so maniacle, so devious, phsycopathic, the laugh is 10/10
unknown to Light, L had a audio recording device planted on his gravestone. L knew Light in his hubris would visit his grave and confess to everything thinking he had won. Would have been a better ending than what we got with Near.
Imagine you're at the cemetery visiting your grandmother's grave and then you hear a psychopathic teenager near a grave laughing like Devil and screaming "I WON!!!"
Sub's " That's right I win " Wad okay.. How a normal person would do that... But dub's just lit.. Its shows how a psycho would sound.. More terrifying and equal to the scene.. I love it
people talk about ryuukk being scared like he is not doing the same face 100 % of the time lol . The ryukk shots are just there to make the scene unsettling and creepy and it works , there are a lot of other scenes like that and it works laughing on a tombstone with a shinigami next to you on a red sunset ; as evil as it gets
Well that's because you are an english speaker. You can't compare the lines of two different languages because they are expressed differently. This comment doesn't even make sense
The sub laugh is better but the dub of gloating over ls grave is goted, the English version of the talking shows the amount of insanity better and how far light has become so dark and corrupt contrast to his name
