A late July sun slips beneath a veil of dark clouds while reflecting so beautifully on the tranquil waters of Middle Saranac Lake. An eerie silence has overtaken the lake and surrounding forest, after strong storms have battered the region, only to be broken by the boisterous chatter of a nearby red squirrel, a few distant birds, and a bullfrog.
