So there will never be an equal start. Its too late to expect any performances for the contestants to earn fans for the sake of winning. After all fans could always buy votes which means votes do not equal fans or popularity. If China-girl groups are ever popular they would have been international sensations. Its just because of the buying of votes, end of the day even if they debuted, still no one knows them. So, there is nothing lost to lose during the contest. During the semi-finals, the best are usually kicked out. Only those that been paying and paying go through. Two years from now you can check the Final 9, they sure cannot put up performances as good as these episode as the 35 girls are placed in the most suitable groups based on their strength. They have Yan Yu, but she badly needs help if ever they debut the current top 9. The only other decent vocalists are An Qi and Aria, but they are no where near the level of the Juicy, Roada and the other top vocalist in the top 35.

Most of the contestants have already debuted elsewhere before joining the show and already have a strong fan base, so it is not surprising that they only vote for their idol regardless of how they perform.
