Hi In this video I'm explaining how to wire 2 way light switch connected to ceiling rose so you can control one light from 2 different locations. I hope it will help. Please Subscribe Thanks
You have explained exellently. Dont worry about the dislikers because they hav some kind of their own problems. Ask them about showing their own videos and we will all know how much better they are. Thanks once again.
Excellent, one of the only video's I've seen, which simply explains this confusing electrical connection, if you still don't understand or unsure. DON'T DO IT!
Fixed my problem with your help. Thank you very much. The previous person had mixed up the common wire with the rose wire. Simple fix when you know how.
Thank you very well explained. I remember the days prior to internet where i attempted a two way switch for a stairway several attempts constantly blowing the fuse before i got it right, you couldn't have made this simpler very well done
I have two way switch, I am planning to change the plate, I have ordered intermediate switch instead of two way switch, Can you use intermediate switch to make it work like two way switch
Hello. What if you want to add two more lights to this arrangement, but you don't have access to the ceiling rose. I currently have this setup for my bedroom light with 2 double gang two way switches either side of the headboard. I want the second gang in each switch to control a reading light on each side of the headboard, but problem is what do I do with the neutral wire. I can't run a new 3 core and earth wire to the original ceiling rose. Hope this description makes sense.
Can you make a video on how to take an existing one gang switch with a ceiling rose light fixture to a 2 gang switch to allow one switch to control the ceiling lights and the other switch to control the wall mounted lights? Love the videos. Keep them coming. Subscribed
Is real helping because am doing the same course in foreign language and is hard for me to understand. I depend on RU-vid and is really helpful, especially your videos.
With this the life wire should jxt get straight into one of the common terminal and switch wire into other common then ur stripers l mean two wires liking from L1to L1 and other wire liking L2 to L2
I have a two gang light switch with 5 wires, 3 Red/ 1 Yellow and 1 Blue. The switch is meant to control the sitting room and the hall way, but is only controlling the sitting room at present. I have noticed that only 2 Red wires are live and 1 Blue, is this normal ❓ Does anyone know how I can sort this out myself❓ Also since this problem started the garage lights do not work, in have changed the build, checked the light fitting and reinstalled an new light switch, so I guess it is down to the loop wiring and the two gang switch must have stopped the circuit. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for the video upload.
If youv not got new wiring colours post 2005 ish then your gonna be in a spin when you take your switch off and find a red and black cable could be old conduit style looped in at the switch also or other methods twin red twin brown , i wouldnt bother with this tutorial just get a electrical chap in
Main line or live is to connected to the switch from ceiling rose . Or there is only line (live) wire at the switches Neutral only at the ceiling rose not at the switch. only permanent live is going from the loop in a ceiling rose to the switch and returns as a switch live to ceiling rose to the terminal where brown wire from bulb is connected. If you have a neutral conductor at the switch then all is wired at the switch not at the ceiling rose. commonly...... that's not a 2 way switch....... it's a 3 way switch you used...... that connection method you've wired in is a 3 WAY CONNECTION not a 2 way connection........ i am an EIM NCII ELECTRICIAN and that's our trade test and examination anyway....
