I remember sometimes back on a video you said, if you know how to operate a wrecker, that there was no need for a rotator in this area. Now you see how much better it is with a tator. Their expensive, but well worth it.

I would still argue there is no absolute need. Weve had a few rollovers and jobs where it didnt make anything faster. to be 100% honest i can say alot of jobs it makes easier and faster..... however, The truck takes awhile to set up especially on these narrow roadways with no shoulder most of the time I find myself fighting to get good cribbing under the outriggers to even be able to use the truck to its fullest potential. it has its place but its not always the better option for sure. This job though.... SO MUCH FASTER and we were able to keep the entrance to the truck stop open!! It definitely has its places and we feel its worth it! We have Miller Rotator School this week hopefully we can get faster and more effiecient with the truck!

Nice of you to give that cribbing. I'd have been tempted to set it in the well on his short blocks but it might have been better to angle it across the trailer. The wood takes a beating on bumpy roads.

how common is it for drivers on flatdeck units to use rubber pads/bits of conveyor belt under loads like this? Instead of bearers or cribbing like ive mostly seen on YT. Ive always had more success keeping counterweights or steel loads etc in place that way. (of course checking the chains and straps before things shift kinda helps to hah) Just wondering if there's some sort of restrictions on whats acceptable in Loading Codes etc or if its just the done thing? Im from NZ btw, every country does things differently. Ive never driven in the US. Great to see you posting again with the new gear.

Its not very common here though a good Idea. The only real restriction is weight limits and securement. As long as the axle weights are good and the securement being used superseeds the weight of the item its securing it doesnt really matter how they do it. We work load shifts all the time mostly because something simple wasnt done properly.
