So curious, if you had two Rotators, could one lift the other, tonnage wise? Not that you would ever need or do it. Just curious. Thanks for the video.
Yes a 50 ton could lift another 50 ton. As pnkgrsmnky mentioned Pepes used his 50 ton to lift his 75 ton. Its not something I would perform as I am not the owner of the company because it is severely pushing it also Josh over at Pepes has years of rotator experience on me so hes a bit more comfortable pushing the boundaries to that extreme.
Driver is pretty new and didnt get much training. We talked quite awhile once it was done while waiting to get paid, I explained alot of things to him like dunnage couldve prevented that ect. Very good guy just kind of thrown to the wolves. Seeing it more and more daily.
Just a suggestion here-while you were blocking/leveling the truck spades-one of the other guys there could have gotten the chains out and hooked up the rear of the trailer-by the time you get swung around-it'd be ready for you.
Where was this? Great job man!!!Good to see these when your a newbie! Thanks for these videos. Thomas (Vine Grove Merciful) Looked like your good at landscaping too 😂😂
Im not sure on total time on scene id have to go back and lookup the call its been a little while ago. We have good support from LEO they even swapped out deputies at shift change to ensure we had one with us til the end. They get impatient sometimes but its understandable in a county this large and sometimes theres only 2 deputies on for the whole county.
Driver causes a major wreck takes off The cops don't care The owner of the Truck and Trailer just wants his Trailer back and he doesn't care about what happen Yup there is a major problem with the Trucking industry It's just like the last video with the Ryder box Truck .. Great recovery video too bad you did not catch the 25 T doing a wheelie that would have been cool to see Take care enjoy your holiday
Hey Michael I am not trying to be smart but I think I would have had a tagline on that trailer. Great job for the “newbie. Keep the videos coming and stay safe.
In an uncontrolled envorionment i would agree, I didnt use one because alot of times we work solo so I wanted Ethan to "control" the load without a tag line.
Not at this time, we will never have a 100 ton and doubtfully have an 85 but you never know what could happen once they get that big you have to have dedicated work for them or they just end up sitting. the good thing about the 50 ton is it can navigate easily and still tow easily to stay busy.
Well then it it wasn't t so much your fault as them putting the lip on the outrigger . I just don't see the need for it . But hen I'm 80+ years old and have never driven or operated a wrecker . Love your videos and keep showing us what you do out there .
That's a Bozo No - no in the Towing world Mr Michael LOL the good part you showed you mistakes not like other channels that would have edited that part out .. Great video as always and looking forward to the major wreck video coming out soon Take care enjoy your work week
It was damaged in a field and a service truck went out to temp fix it. got it loaded on a trailer then when offloading it broke again, they temp fixed it again, got it off the trailer and it broke a 3rd time. All this had nothing to do with either wrecker service we were called several weeks after the shitshow had run its course to load onto a salvage haulers trailer.
I'm looking into this line of work here soon. Been doing OTR for 10 years now, and decided I'm tired of living in the cab of a truck. Got an interview with a company local to where I live, which I believe is family run. Been hauling glass the last 6 1/2 years almost now, and time with the company has been good, they've treated me well. But I've started to hit that wall, I want more time to vest into my hobbies, I wanna cook my own meals at home, go fishing more, maybe garden a bit again. My uncle does roadside maintenance, hes been a mechanic long as I've been alive. He only live an hour from where I do, and I chatted with him for some advice. Decided I'm not gonna hesitate, and rip the bandaid off so to say. Pivotng careers in an economy like this isn't an easy choice, but at least I got plenty of CDL driving experience under my belt. Mainly be learning to operate the equipment in a safe manner, and perhaps doing some vocational training in mechanical work. Being able to sleep in my own bed at home every night will make a world of difference. Hoping all works out, my license checked out, only a couple speeding tickets in Commiefornia since I've been driving. I think most of it will just be learning the trade, and readjusting.
Good luck to you! its always good to see people from outside the industry come in. Its a big difference from OTR to Towing and Recovery your going to put in far more hours of actual labor but its much more rewarding and as you said your going to be home alot more. Try to learn every piece of equipment your company has be as versitile as possible so you can stay busy and stay making money. You have to remember the heavy towing industry relies on the trucking industry, Whatever issues the trucking industry is seeing the towing is seeing too so dont be one of the heavy guys that wont jump in a rollback and tow a car. The towing industry can be as enjoyable as you make it. theres ALOT of suck to it but its all in what parts you choose to focus on!! I hope the best for you!
@@MercifulTowing I grew up doing construction and farm work with my dad and uncles, and 6+ years of hauling glass is laborious too. I'm always eager to learn new things, try different stuff out, and on the side being home more I can get some vocational training in mechanical. I'm young yet too, only turning 34 soon and already got ten years experience of CDL driving. Compared to most the other drivers I chat with I'm half their age about lol. Hopefully all works out with them, I learned well from my elders, don't burn yer bridges, reinforce them. I'll go above and beyond my pay grade to make sure the job is done right, my messes are cleaned up, and I leave the customers with a smile on their face. I just wish others of my generation would step up to fill the boots of their father's and grandfather's. The country is certainly in need of more hardhats and less pocket protectors. My sentiments as a millennial.
I AM A RETIRED PROFESSIONAL SEMI TRUCK DRIVER THE WORST LOAD THAT I REMEMBER HAULING WAS PICKLED STEEL PLATES EVEN WITH THE PLATES BANDED FRONT TO BACK AND SIDE TO SIDE THEY STILL MANAGED TO SLIDE AROUND SOME WHAT!
Sometimes I wonder how shippers get away with the way they secure things prior to the drivers securement!!! Most load shifts I do (not this one particularly) I find that the driver was set up for failure by the way the shipper banded it or grouped it together!
Great recovery, I'm surprised you didn't drag it back to the end of the guard rail. Very impressive lift, but there was a lot of your staff in the "triangle of death". Very glad it all worked out this time. Please stay safe out there.
