This is great! However, how do you know what frequency to use? Is there an explanation of why you are choosing a different value for cleanup vs cutting?

Nice video again 😀, love the videos very clear explain and whats them all And now this one again because I have a question, i never use ezcad and come from diod and have a mopa M7 jpt now playing with color and have a lib 60W MOPA in 304 stainless steel marked colored. Hatch 0.002 What is that hatch number and where to put it in lightburn because i have more tests with other hatch numbers like 0.001 and 0.004

Now in a live stream i asked about fiber/mopa laser and if it was supported. The answer was yes. However i miss the Pulsesettings, do they appear when making the Mopa Profile? Further this is great work.
@LaserEverything

They do, just have to tick the box in the device settings menu labeled "enable q-pulse width" super easy!

What if I want to run 3 deep engrave passes, then 1 cleanup pass, change the angle, and repeat that 50 times (autorotating the angle each time). How can I get it to keep rotating the angle without repeating cuts I've already done? I can do this in EZcad. In EZcad, you can set the angle rotation, then set the number of times the job will be run and it will continue to autorotate that same amount with each time the job is run. Here, I think I would have to have duplicate shapes and many cuts/layers (1 2 3 deep engrave, 4 cleanup, 5 6 7 deep engrave, 8 cleanup, etc) but there are only 11 layers you can have so that limits that and then before long you're repeating cuts. Thanks.
@LaserEverything
@LaserEverything Год назад
Hey Yaog, you can simply enable auto rotate in the hatch menu for the layer, set the passes for that layer to 3, and create a sublayer on the same layer (enable auto rotate on that sublayer as well), and set the passes for that to 1 for cleanup. This can be done with 1 layer + a sublayer within that layer now. You could also save the whole layer's settings to your material library for later use on other projects to not have to rebuild the hatch settings and angle adjustments.
@YAOG
@YAOG Год назад
@@LaserEverything Yes, but what you're saying to do will have it engrave at x angle, auto rotate, engrave, auto rotate, engrave, auto rotate, and then cleanup. If I run that job 50 times it will go back to the original angle (ezcad would remember to continue the angle rotations where it left off so that you could run the job 1000 times and have a different angle each time). But if I want it to do that 50 times I'd have to set a different angle manually in Lightburn for sublayers 5, 6, and 7 (then cleanup pass sublayers 8). Do you see the issue I'm talking about? I want it to run a job 100 times and auto rotate continuing at the angle it left off on so as not to repeat angles. Ezcad does this. Lightburn does not, unless they changed it recently.

What they just called Sub layer, is already there in SCANLAB's software with similarity as "paths".. its cool.

Hey Alex! Great video as usual. I am working my way through the series and I have a question regarding sub layers. Is there a way to apply library presets to a sub layer. It seems to only change the main layer when I apply a preset. I don't know if I am just missing something or it's not a feature. I know I can manually set it up, but it kinda defeats the purpose of having presets in my opinion if i can't apply them to individual sub layers. Maybe I am just doing it wrong....lol :)

One tiny question but it can save the world. I got our Galvo working just nicely on Lightburn thanks to your videos. I have only one problem. The working area is not facing towards me but turned 90 degrees to the left. Do you know by chance how to change this? I would be grateful, keep up the good work sir.
@LaserEverything
@LaserEverything 2 года назад
Yep easy, in the device settings (wrench and screwdriver icon) in the very first section labeled "Field" simply change the "Angle" box to your desired angle of rotation and hit okay. Should do the trick.

I find that that line out at .02 line interval is way to small for a project, it might take an hour to do a flask for instance, that is not right.. if you do a preview of the time it would take its a long time, not like in EZCADE were .02 and cross hatch takes about 15mins at 200 speed..
@LaserEverything
@LaserEverything 2 года назад
I do not believe preview time calcs are currently accurate in lightburn for galvo lasers. Line interval is what it is and shouldn't be affecting the run time between softwares and has not in my experience.

feature request: on thinner metals, i can get really clean cuts if i give the metal a chance to cool between passes. however, there is no way to tell the program to just chill for 10 seconds between repeats. would be nice so that i dont need to stand by my machine hitting play every 10 seconds for 3 minutes.
