The more I learn about Lightburn, the more amazed I am. It has features that some of my [shall remain nameless] graphics programs don't have. Great demo as always, thanks for taking the time. Still trying to catch one of your live streams.

Thanks for the video, definitely going to help as I do some testing of my products on some different woods and don't want to wait for the whole piece to finish to test specific powers and speeds. Now, I can do the actual product and only select a representative section of it and save material!

Thank you for your clear and comprehensive paced presentation. I always wanted to know how to get a negative image. Thanks for the tip on the “Adjust Image” feature!

Awesome David. You can get top the negative image toggle in the Cuts setting editor as well. :) What are you planing to make now that you know how to turn an image into its negative?
@davidmenda8025
@davidmenda8025 2 года назад
First, I got a negative image but I really wanted a positive image for my laser job. Second, one can use the negative to cut materials for an an ink stamp.

Great video thanks , but i wish the programmer's at Lightburn would design a crop button like GRBL has, very easy to use.

I am not sure why Lightburn doesn't have a crop function built in, I know alot of people would like one. Maybe in the future???

Thank you for the video. After taking the time to edit and modify an image like that how do you then go in and add it to your art library for later use?

Menu is unavailable, you show the command for .5 seconds. What magical combination exposes the crop option?

Thank you for all the videos. Such a cool place to learn. I got two questions that I’m struggling to find an answer: 1.) Is there a way to setup the laser to come back to the origin point once it finished whatever it was doing? I mean to return to the start point. 2.) Is there a way to make the laser to “draw/engrave” one “trace” of any shape instead of the laser going always left to right and up every time? The second question is the most Important to me because I noticed when I’m engraving something the laser goes left to right and then up and again left to right and you can see on the final result that it wasn’t engraved one line and then the other one.

Hi Jorge, Thank you for reaching out. The answer to your first question, about seeing an endpoint using Lightburn can be found in this video tutorial here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--JeutFaiXjU.html For your second answer, you are using an image, which will scan the image onto your material using Lightburn. To get the laser to only engrave or cut the shape, you need to trace the image and turn it into a vector for the laser to follow. We show you the steps on how to to that in this tutorial here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XfQQb_57vSk.html Let us know how you go, and I'm curious, what are you using your laser to make and create?

Good morning, great tutorial, i have a small issue though my 'apply mask to image' feature is greyed out...
@LaserLivestream
@LaserLivestream Год назад
If the feature is greyed out, most times it is due to the image not being selected or grouped. Try selecting the image and shape together and select ‘apply mask to image’. Let us know how you go 👍

What do you do when your imported image won't allow the adjust image and trace image functions on the tool menu?
@LaserLivestream
@LaserLivestream 6 месяцев назад
When your imported image in LightBurn doesn't allow adjustments, it's important to check if the image is on the correct layer. LightBurn's editing functions like 'Adjust Image' and 'Trace Image' are often layer-specific. Could you verify if the image is on a layer that permits these modifications?

Gil, When I try to crop the image after outlining it the "Apply mask to image" is grayed out and I can't select it. What am I doing wrong?
@LaserLivestream
@LaserLivestream 2 года назад
Hey Jeff... Usually, the box is greyed out cause both layers (the image and the mask) have not been selected together. Let me know if that fixes the problem for you :)
@Cluanar
@Cluanar 2 года назад
masking is okay, actual cropping could be a LOT easier. If you could just draw a box around the bottom part and crop . Can't do that in lightburn?

I traced the area I wanted to use, but Lightburn will not give "apply mask" as an option.
@LaserLivestream
@LaserLivestream Год назад
Try selecting both the image and trace. When you have both selected the “apply mask” option will appear in the menu when you right click.

it has to be an "image" or it will not give that option

6:14 thats the point I dont get it. Its not working for me... Dont come to this menu.
@LaserLivestream
@LaserLivestream Год назад
I don’t know what your selection is, but in my experience in Lightburn, if the menu or option doesn’t come up, you may not have the elements selected. Try selecting them again and seeing if the menu comes up. Let us know how it goes 👍
