The stock “predator steps” are also aluminum, body mounted… one of my steps found a rock and broke right off the weld… took it home, sawed, and grinded it. The point is can you try hitting some rocks with this first and see what happens and if it’s worth an upgrade over stock aluminum rail that’s there. Because it seems the stock rail won’t push up into rocker panel even though it’s body mounted.

Right. But the Greenland rock sliders are not body mounted, they are frame mounted, and gusseted for max rigidity. I will test it out to see if it can hold the entire side of the truck up.

Nice choice, I’ve been eying those sliders for my Taco. I’ve built a ton of wheelers over the years and finally decided less is more. I feel like a modest build is the best bang for the buck, at a certain point there is a dimensioning return on having too many mods. It’ll be nice to see how those perform on the trail.

Love your videos. They were partly why I went with 255 75r17 on my Tacoma. But in reality the vast majority of Tacoma owners don't need metal sliders, and will never use them to their fullest potential. I want these as well as the greenlane bumper because my truck is my daily/work/hunting rig and I want to keep it sleek and light. I never intend to use it for serious off-roading but want some protection, just in case. If I wanted a serious off-road rig I would build another XJ, like my last one on 37s, long arms, locked fr&r, homemade bumpers/cage, and an atlas 2, all done for half the price of my stock truck and far more capable than 99% of Tacomas out there.

@@manwithnoname734 100%, most balanced vehicle to me is a great daily and would still survive some rocks if put on a pinch.
