I think there is sense that you can have help from the side you don't even imagine. The lighthouse keeper could change his point of view after this situation. Such situations promote growing if we conclude well.
Свет ..спасет и корабль, и людей, и ...возможно всё человечество..если представить на миг ...Что мы все на этом корабле и плывём в кромешной темноте во вселенной...
This is the opposite of responsibility. . . This is saving some unresponsible guy which didnt manage to do be responsible for his job ass. The lighthouse guy should have had an extra lamp. Instead, he are saved by a Whole town which apperantly does not believe that the lighthouse guy can be responsible for his job. Its a story about helping a guy out with a problem. A guy that wasent responsible for his job. He should be fired asap.
I think the message here, is that sometimes being responsible is admitting you stuffed up and seeking help. By not admitting you've been wrong and potentially creating an even bigger problem, 'roll-on' effects can influence individuals beyond yourself. It's a metaphor for family responsibilities for example.
I think the idea is sometimes things happen that we aren't able to control. In the situations we start believing everything is not exidentel. The guy may start trust the world more and it will bring more joy in his life. It reminds me 'A Christmas Carol' by Dickens.
