Late 1997. My first son was just born, but diagnosed with congenital heart disease. At the time they said he was unlikely to make it. I was driving home alone from the hospital and this song came on. I had to pull over cos I couldn't see the road ahead - eyes full of tears. To this day, if I hear this song, there is a big chance I will bawl like a baby (happened at a supermarket two years ago!!!) - but it helped give me hope - It's probably meant to be a love song, but to me this song is about a father and his son. My son survived five operations and will be 23 this year.

I used to hate Lighthouse Family in the 90's... they were ubiquitous, every shop you went in, bloody Lighthouse Family was on. Radio stations never learned that overplaying just makes you hate an artist. Now I haven't heard them at all in the last 20 years, I suddenly got an urge to listen to them 🤣 Funny how it works isn't it? I never even knew they were just two guys.

When you listen to a song that has so much history, does it make your heart flutter? Completely cheesy I'm sure. I was young when the Lighthouse Family shot to fame (11 or so), & my mind flashes back to warm summer days with the car windows open & my mother playing this, singing along. I'm 29 now - & I can still remember every lyric to every song on this album. I miss the innocence of childhood, but I will always have those few precious memories xx

I remember every word to most of the songs, and still secretly love them :) I also fancied the pants off of Tunde lol

My dad made me love these guys and there songs. I grew up in very local area of Nigeria where i was brought up with my native language(Yoruba). I didnt understand English then and my dad bought their album despite i coundnt undertand what they were singing at least i was enjoying the rythm, melody and their sweet voices. Love the Lighthouse Family. I don't generally listen to easy-listening music, but my Dad would always play Lighthouse Family in the car on the way to our holidays. Every now again I listen to them and just experience so much nostalgia. I remember hating them when I was younger, they're now my favorite - I realised what real music is.

I am a french woman, when I first heard this song, i was a child and so I couldn’t understand the lyrics and the meaning at all. Many years later, I craved for it but didn’t know how to find a song when you don’t have any clue about what to search for, but just the melody. I searched randomly for years when magic happens one day. Missed this tune so much and the memory I have of that age I was living back then. Good song and incredible voice.

It is somewhat depressing yet uplifting at the same time, and everybody could relate to those lyrics at one point or another in their life. I think this is a really good tune, and I do love the singer’s so much, it is deep yet calming. And btw thank you for you compliment, I try my best to improve my english but still I have to learn a lot.

Its bringing back memories will be 55 in june, its so true genuine music really has soul ,heard this today while i was doing rehab physio class today due to motorcycle crash 4 yrs ago, when i heard this today it stopped me in my tracks, and i felt this song stir something inside me , i dont know why , 17/1/2020. I had sepsis, just 25 years old, a new baby in my arms, they left the placenta in me after a botched c-section, it all got hushed up of course, I recall holding my baby Jess in my arms one afternoon, looking into her eyes in the side ward as the strength seeped from inside, so weak, shaking and burning up inside, bearly able to hold my little girl, this song starting playing outside in the corridor radio and like a message had come from afar, I felt every melodic change and word resonate within me, tears fell and I felt something inside kick in and even though I was hours from my organs shutting down, to me an angel had come by and i starting fighting back and I strived to survive for my beautiful baby who needed me, now she is 21 and this is our song. Love and family is everything and this song our inspiration...sometimes my daughter says I heard our song today Mum and I smile into those beautiful blue eyes and we just know, I love you Jessie Lou 'cos we are gonna be, forever you and me!'....❤ xxxx

I finaly found this song! damn it... I always listened this on radio and I've searched a lot until Today when I listened to it again after so much time has passed. I went to see Tunde at Durham Cathedral 20/9/24 with my wife. I've grown up listening to them, and they never fail to make me smile. It was an amazing experience, and he sounds even better in person.

January 2022 and still listening! My dad bought this CD album --and just as a background --whenever it's Saturday, our family goes on a drive to the mall to watch a movie and have dinner after. This album was always playing in our car and I always loved the feeling that LF's music gives ... fast forward to now my parents are separated, my mom and my two siblings hate me that much to cut me out of their lives, and this is the only remnant of a happy memory where our family was complete and happy. Just glad I have my dad and one other sister who chose my side .... So yeah, I love this song ... and the rest of the album.

It really does. One day I felt so down and I asked the Lord for help. I was walking around in the mall and heard this song. I looked up the lyrics and it really made me cry. He was telling me that one day we will be together, but to hold on for now. Jesus bless you❤

I had a dream about reuniting with my siblings and in the dream this song was in the background. I remember when we were younger we were listening to this song together and we loved it. I am a math teacher... a student decided to randomly play this song through the schools announcement system yesterday. Was amazing knowing that young people still love music like this. E olha que lá em 1998, eu com 23 anos tendo que tomar um decisão que iria mudar minha vida totalmente, mas que eu sabia que não seria fácil, que teria milhões de obstáculos, anos até eu chegar e obter o que eu tanto queria e o que eu fui buscar lá do outro lado do oceano, deixando duas pessoinhas que eu mais amava e que precisava tanto de mim. Nunca tinha imaginado em minha vida viver alguns anos longe delas . Porque eu sabia que não seria fácil e que levaria anos . Foi muito sofrimento, muitos choros , desesperos e vontade de vomitar eu, mas eu não voltaria até conseguir o que eu tinha ido buscar, afinal de contas eu já estava lá . Então quando peguei aquele táxi de frente de minha casa e vi elas lá na porta vinha essa música dentro de mim , porque enquanto tomava decisão eu escutei essa canção a semana toda e ao adentrar no táxi ela estava dentro de mim e quando adentrei no avião ela também estava dentro de mim , não sabia o que dizia a canção , mas não sei porque naquele momento de decisão e já com dedicado tomada me identifiquei com essa canção que ficou marcada dentro de mim por todo esses anos . Eu não essa canção ele fez parte de minha vida, de momentos de grande decisão em minha vida e até hoje ela faz parte de minha vida, sempre a escuto . Ah, conheci essa música pela trilha sonora internacional na época da novela Torre De Babel, novela muito linda em minha opinião, que também ficou marcada na época dentro mim .

When i first heard this song , i fell in love with it and it was one of my favorites . When my Mom heard it , she would always ask me to play it when she's in her rocking chair ... I could see her delight when she hears it , tapping her fingers and her feet. She passed on few months later ....and when i hear this song nowadays , i wouldn't only listen to it intently but i will always remember my Mom , because she's there up HIGH in heaven .....
