May be an odd question but do the steps of 4 to 5 require a railing to be installed ? if not at one depth/tread or size of step is it no longer needed ?

It depends on if it’s a main access to the house and on local code requirements. Also there’s insurance implications that may affect choices on railings in the landscape as well.
