I finally got the results I was after on the big Texaco sign. Vintage signs are getting harder to come by, and the price is constantly rising.

Really love your Upcycling and placement of the Texaco sign! Love that your wife said to keep the patina…it all just marrys together so well! Just a tid bit; Homemade Patina Spray You’ll need a 32 oz. Spray bottle. Pour a 1/2” to 3/4” of table salt into your bottle. A 32 oz. Bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide-pour half this bottle (16 oz.) into your spray bottle. Fill just to the neck of your spray bottle with distilled vinegar leaving some air in the neck of the bottle to mix all the ingredients up. USES: Just about anything you want to patina. Just spray…take an aspirin while your waiting and once you get the desired effect clear coat it. If it is something your going to keep inside use interior clear coat. If it’s something your going to use outside, slap on a clear coat!

I knew about the Patina spray, it's what I used to rust the gate in the fence video. Thanks for tuning in, and I'm glad you liked the vids.

Good job Shannon! Love it. We even have Texaco here in Honduras. We just pronounce it differently. Tex a co

I realize I am a tad late here, but I wanted to share something I learned about these lights. My boss got me similar ones to mount under the cabinets above my bench at work. Issue was that when I mounted them with the lights facing down, the edge of the tubes was just about at eye level and blinded me to the point of pain. I had to come up with a quick, cheap fix because, unfortunately, bosses tend not to want to spend valuable time on shop improvements. They'd rather keep you on a paying customer's job. I used black electrical tape to make a "shade" on the only exposed side of the tubes. (I tried white first, but enough light got through it that it wasn't helpful.) I know that wouldn't work in a sign mounted outdoors, but I thought maybe you might need a similar solution if you ever want to improve upon the visibility of the tubes or if any viewers need to solve this issue. Also, I have found that a lot of the fluorescent-replacement LEDs we've implemented at work have dimmed over a short time.

I had considered painting part of the fixtures black, but refacing the fixtures seemed to do the trick. Thanks for tuning in

Great job. Your wife was right (no surprise there, though) 🤷🏻‍♀️. The patina on the door is amazing. I thought you had done it like that on purpose because it gives everything a cohesive look. 😎 just discovered & subscribed to your channel today. I love the vintage look so really have enjoyed watching your videos. 👍🏻👍🏻

Don't know which door you are referring to, but if you are talking about the main door entering the mancave ( the blue one) I did do that on purpose.
