The BEST White Ranger figure made to date. Also glad we got the White Ranger first in this line since he was more prominent than Green, who many say is the best yet suffered a lot from how his powers didn't always work early on.
Kaiju-O Danny true but big bad toy store is doing a cheap sale for the Sh figuarts version with it only being $39:99: www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/75226
They likely chose White over Green because White actually topped the official popularity poll that happened two or three years back. Them giving us the sword shine effect also irked me, considering an effect that would've been way better would be eye beams for Saba, considering that's something he actually did. Comparing this to the Legacy one, personally I prefer the sculpt for Legacy, but for everything else Lightning wins. Hopefully the trend continues when they do other figures Legacy already did, like MMPR Pink, which is rumored to be part of the next wave.
Seeing this makes me wish we could get some Kamen Rider Dragon Knight action figures done in this exact way. If only Hasbro could get a hold of that license.
Been waiting for you to review this guy. I’ve had him for a while and personally love it. I know you’re not a fan of this type of waist and ab rotation but I really like it and think they nailed it with this one. Glad to see you approve this time
no thanks, i much rather have beloved characters like Ecliptor or Villamax, or more PR exclusives like Titanium Ranger or the Spirit Rangers, Bandai milked MMPR WAY too much, their last legacy figures was he armored MMPR red, and it was at the cost of NOT releasing Psycho Yellow and Pink, which was insulting especially to Psycho Pink, who was the most infamous of the Psycho Rangers
I personally don't mind the gripping hand's hinge since it's sculpted to hold Saba and to look like a style pose hand for martial art poses with it having 2 fingers raised higher then the rest
I DEFINITELY would have brought the green ranger. I'm hoping the wanted to see what bugs needed to be worked out which is why they went with a less "important" ranger. I'll by the original colors in a heart beat
Honestly as much as I like to support Bandai Namco. I preferred Hasbro over Bandai America. Good job Hasbro! Surprisingly this one still looks better than SH Figuarts
The main thing to keep in mind for this line versus Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black Series is that Hasbro owns Power Rangers outright, so they get full profit from the sale of the merchandise. Star Wars and Marvel are licensed from Disney, so a chunk of the profits have to go to the parent company. The result is that they have to cut corners on Star Wars and Marvel to increase their profit margins, whereas that’s not necessary on Power Rangers. That said, now that they’ve made these molds, you might see some carry over for certain Marvel characters in the near future, as they won’t really need to retool the molds (spandex suits and all that).
I got it at Walgreens for $24.00! I was so happy. The white was always my favorite growing up especially with the movie. They should do them in the ninja outfits 🥶
Other than proportions, I love how hasbro chose an accurate depiction on the hand cuffs, SH Figuarts ruined it for me with the too thin proportions on the body and the cuffs on the hands were too long and was cut by the lower arm joint. But i do give credit for the excellent paint job of the SH Figurarts
I know everybody is goo-goo gaga over MMPR, but we know Hasbro will complete that team. I want to see some other teams done. I'd LOVE to see Turbo, Time Force, Lightspeed Rescue, Dino Thunder, the rest of SPD and RPM. I also want In Space + the Psycho Rangers done in this style, but at least Bandai had us (mostly) covered there. Lots of longevity with this line and I hope Hasbro goes deep with it like they've done with Marvel and Star Wars.
I wonder what has had more characters, power rangers (plus all the villains and monsters and putty types) or starwars (nine -plus movies -and soooo many background characters, all of whom starwars fans will buy toys of) or marvel (80 years of comics plus 10 years of movies) I bet it's closer then we'd first assume. Especially since marvel has been using the same characters and some designs haven't changed much (Ben Grimm) and some characters probably wouldn't sale (who wants a vanisher figure?)
What theyre doing is smart from a buisness stand point. They dont release a whole team in one line but seperate them in different waves. That way the line can have a longer life span and collectors will actually have to wait and collect. And also throw in a villain or supporting character in each wave. Thats genius.
As much as I like the Lightning Collection White Ranger action figure myself, I would've preferred giving the figure two flat hands and two gripping hands so the figure can be displayed holding Saba in either the right or left hand, given the figure the longer torso shield that would almost touch to the ab crunch, painted the boot soles black, left out the switchable head made in the likeness of Jason David Frank AND I would've preferred the figure to be made and released as the Legacy Collection White Ranger from Bandai instead of Hasbro.
That's why your reviews are my only stop. We both said the exact same thing about this figure. Almost word for word. Now we just need a green ranger, before Hasbro gets it's Hasbro on
Got him the Spd dog ranger and lord zed ( zed will stay in the box ) yesterday...i only skipped on this line at first because the box art make them look ugly
The LC White Ranger and Zedd are what got me to start getting Marvel Legends. I never owned a figure that was similar in style to Marvel Legends before LC. Now I am hooked, though I agree that there are many let downs in the ML line. The LC line has been really good all around so far. We just need more figures like Zedd and Goldar. I know it is a Power Rangers line, but there are WAY too many rangers in proportion to monsters. Also, they are giving us some dice roll hinge hands in the LC line and since all the hands are basically the same, we can mix and match the hands which is nice. I would rather they mix up the hands between releases than give all rangers the same sets hands over and over again.
Great review, this is an impressive figure for the price point! I have the S.H. Figuarts version but this Hasbro one looks appealing, I like the proportions and the fact you can switch out the helmet with the show accurate face.
Boy is this great.. I'm not that into the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, I grew up with the Wild Force Power Rangers, hope this line succeeds and they make those 'cause if they mantain this quality I'll be more than happy to assemble that team.
The White Ranger figure is really Hasbro's Crowning achievement and I hope they will be releasing the Green Ranger in the 3rd series cause we are getting a MMPR Pink ranger in the 2nd series.
My White Ranger figure has slightly visible grey smudges on the front of the left thigh and knee joint. I tried using Dawn ultra dishwashing liquid soap and equate 91% isopropyl alcohol to remove the smudges, but they didn't come off. What else can I use that would be strong enough to remove smudges off of white plastic? Any recommendations would be most appreciated.
The figure looks really good, but i think his helmet is a bit on the big side. Maybe it's just because i haven't seen this design for a long time and my memory is tricking me. Otherwise, very good on Hasbro.
Between the 2, I like the green ranger better than the white ranger. The green ranger is similar to the other rangers enough to let people know that they are from the same series, but also has a quite a few differences to signify that he is a special ranger that is more powerful than the rest. The white ranger on the other hand has a design that looks completely different than all the other rangers. He sorta looks out of place as if he is from a different series.
AnthonysCustoms you gotta scoop up lord drakkon from the lightning collection. I have a feeling you will like it more than bandai’s. Joints, as you know, are solid. The proportions are also better too. The only way that the bandai one may be better is paint job.
I have never seen anyone complaining, on the contrary, I have only good feedback on it. So yes, it's a good e-store if you're American. That said the shipping costs & taxes are much too high if you are a European like me. Amazon US is more interesting in this case.
I'm incredibly worried about this line. The last two figures have been so damn good. Like important level imo(if they had more accessories) and for the regular price of a ML. I'm hoping they aren't making the first line dope so we'll buy just to produce the regular mediocre coin tosses Hasbro does.
You know I've been trying to hunt this figure down they had it at my local.Wal-Mart but it's gone now lol I think GameStop also had it but it's also gone from there to lol.
@@AnthonysCustoms I'm just hoping for something better than statues with a swivel at the shoulders. The mini-pla lack a little on some details, and are smaller, but they kill nearly every dx sentai mech when it comes to articulation.
Did you forget when white ranger lead the whole fucking mmpr team after destroying the green ranger persona? How does white not belong when zordon himself chose him to lead
@@AnthonysCustoms never said that you said the wasnt on the american show. i didnt even bring up the show. you said that the white ranger doesnt belong on the team. basically you said green was better than white but how can you compare the same person wearing a different suit
Yeah, you're right, their figures are really good! Makes me wonder if Hasbro made a deal with the Devil. Who knows!? The more probable scenario is they shook hands with Figuarts, and threw money at them to make better figures.
Figuarts still kills this one in the paint department and you might call them skinny tube people but that's pretty much what the majority of the Super Sentai/Power Rangers cast looks like. Lightning Collection is a really good budget alternative tho. What you're getting for the price is definetively worth it, but it's not Figuarts.
That is true, i'll give you that. I guess that's where you can split it between Super Sentai and Power Rangers. This being a Power Rangers line, you're right. But I'm mostly lookin at the original.
Green ranger is the best ranger? Dude, that’s BS. The Red Ranger is the best ranger in every generation, and as for Tommy roles go, the White Ranger is the best, then red Zeo, Green MMPR and at the end Black Dino Thunder ranger. Come on, man.
I want green tommy and red Jason They shoulda went with mmpr red first since it's the face of power rangers. Green may be the most popular, and jdf may be the ambassador but mmpr red is the face.
@@AnthonysCustoms Proportions and paint application. Articulation is same except torso, but this can be fixed. Head Sculpt is even worse than from Figuarts. And Hasbro's overall looks more cheap.
@@AnthonysCustoms Of course, this is still a very good figure for its price. I just added my opinion to comparison of these figures. That's what comments are for, right?
