Who made a better White Ranger?!? (S.H Figuarts VS Hasbro Lightning Collection) 

The best way I can describe the S.H.Figuarts is that they have an anime aesthetic feel to them. Which is accurate to Super Sentai in a way cause it’s like a live action version of Shōnen. Hasbro is more photo realistic to our Americanized version of power rangers.

I usually agree with you but aesthetically speaking the figuarts looks more toy like and plain... Hasbro sculpted what actually looks like a suit on a person than what figuarts did its too smooth looking an skinny looking as a result. For me I'm giving it to Hasbro. Proportion wise it just looks so much better! Great review though. I think the comparison videos are my favorite!

What won me over with the Hasbro one was the fact that I only paid like 17 bucks for him which is an awesome price for such a good figure.

I hate when people say the figurarts one look more like jdf than the hasbro one. Those folks are blind by the fact the figure costed more.

the Sword holding hand of the SHF is superior due to it's range of articulation with that aspect. But major props to the Lightning series. Hasbro is definitely stepping up. In the end, the fan wins these days with all the options available.

Both do look great, but I prefer the Hasbro oddly enough. The gold on SH just looks brand new never used, but the Hasbro looks like it's and ancient powerful artifact

Hasbro is by far a better figure. The mat white is more accurate and they give a gloss finish on the helmet.

The Rangers aren't supposed to be teen height. When morphed they're all full height.

You all have to keep in mind that the figuarts are based off the super sentai show in terms of design and that we the american audience was fortunately to get them released here with the mmpr logo slapped on. So when you're all saying how figuarts is too lanky or whatever remember that the design they're going off is the japanese actors and not american ones. Hasbro has indeed done a great job with capturing the American look in figure form that Bandai just refused to do. Lastly the white ranger counterpart in Japan was a kid on the show which is why he looks smaller especially in the neck area.

Was a hard battle but, i think that in terms of figure the hasbro one it's much better... although the S.H one looks more stetic and definitly it's a beautiful figure, but the amazing articulation and headsculp from the hasbro one make it the winner to me. And also it not stay back about detail.

I’m stunned that the lightning version is so good. I didn’t even plan on buying it. But it’s excellent. One could argue that the Hasbro version looks more like the American footage they shot while figuarts is more accurate to the Japanese footage. Both are awesome figures.

I believe the reason the shf white ranger is so short because in the Japanese version Dairanger, Kibaranger was a child that transforms into a ranger so Bandai probably wanted to be accurate to their version.

Even though the hasbro one is amazing, I still prefer the figuarts one because it has that Sentai feel to it and I like the clean look.

Hasbro is the better figure. I ended up getting 5 Power Ranger Figuarts figures before I discovered how bad they were. They are all in pieces now. That's not a joke either. All I can find is the Armored Red torso with both arms still attached, no armor, no head, no legs. I also found 2 legs, an arm, and a head for the White Ranger. As for Green, Basic Red, and Pink they're all MIA, but last time I saw parts of them they were in pieces too. As for Lightning Collection I've got almost all that have been released as of November 2020, and the only thing that broke was a piece of the tubing on my first Lord Zedd. Even the Legacy figures were better that Figuarts as I got most of them and the only thing that broke on any of them were the hand pegs. Looks aren't everything as even though the Figuarts might look better straight out of the package the pant is very prone to chip off. Pink was by far the worst as last time I saw her most of her paint on both the body and the helmet was gone. Both the Legacy and Lightning Collection have been put through way more wear and tear, and neither have paint issues other than minor scuffing. If you just want a figure to place up on a shelf and never touch again then the Figuarts might work for you, but if you plan on doing anything else then the Lightning Collection is the way to go, and I'd even argue that they look way better as the Figuarts look anorexic. When I bought my Figuarts they were the best looking figures available. That's just not true anymore. Figuarts were too skinny, Legacy was too buff, but the Lightning Collection is just right.

I like that Hasbro captured the short sleeve look on the arms which is a subtle detail. SHF version just treats them like gold arm bands. Plus the shield is way better. The articulated shield is stupid.

The Figuarts looks like a collection of tubes, no offense to those who prefer it but I couldn’t see myself paying that much money for that fig. I love my lightning collection white ranger, perfect as far as I’m concerned.

For 20 dollar figures, the lightning collection is pretty awesome. Hasbro did a good job. That being said, I bought my SH Figuarts White Ranger for 30 bucks and I love it.

Fun fact. The white ranger was a 12 year old kid in the super sentai. And u could tell he was the smallest ranger in that footage. And wtf he doesn't mention the difference of the visors?!

The question is does the figuarts one justify the price tag? Hasbro looks so good and is perfectly priced. Not spending over $80 on the figuarts.

The slim ranger is from the Japanese show, Gosei Sentai Dairanger, and is called Kiba Ranger as indicated on the box, that's why he doesn't look like Tommy of the American show. In the show, we don't know the player of Kiba Ranger. The story goes like this: the human Kiba ranger is a kid, but when he transforms himself, his size becomes that of an adult. That's why we don't know who plays the masked Kiba ranger. We could have a theory that the maker intentionally made the human face of the slim ranger different from Tommy's face.

Actually, the shoulder pads do separate from the vest when he moves his arms in the show, so the sh figuarts is accurate in that detail.

Both are good but Hasbro stepped it up in this line made the figure look like he has a suit on, which is something I wish more comic ML's had, but yea unless you're a die hard MMPR fan, Hasbro is the winner in terms of good representation. But with MCU stuff, I started to lean towards SHF.

Props to hasbro for the sculpting. However it looks too baggy. The suits never had that many wrinkles on the show lol what is everyone talking about. Figuarts still wins by a small margin.

SH Figuarts is Good but too small, while HB is almost but what bugs me is the body way too long due to belt being sandwich between the body nonetheless i still go for hasbro..

I did a similar comparison video on my own channel, but I also included the Legacy Collection one as well. My preference from best to worst is Lightning, Legacy, Figuarts.

It's worth noting IMO that the Figuart was built with the intention of representing a 9 year old who grew a little in the suit. Hence being so small even for his own line. It unfortunately doesn't work for being Tommy. I think both unmasked heads are god awful, neither company did it well. Sheen and colors I'd give Figuarts, sculpt and proportions I'd give Hasbro. They are very even for different reasons.

These are both great in their own way. For the price point, the Hasbro one is a way better value because its much cheaper and easier to find. The articulation is better, and so is the shield. The SHF tho is very shiny and slimmer, so it makes a better display piece next to collector zords, and embodies the sentai feel. For a comparison to Hasbro's Zedd figure, it could again go either way. I like the dynamic of having the villain being larger, but the actor if I'm not mistaken who played him in the show was pretty short. Same with Goldar.

I like the sculpt work better for the s.h. figuarts its smoother but i feel like all poweranger s.h.figuarts are too thin its fine for the women figures but it makes the boys look very slim and i dont remember them being thst slim

I think that the Hasbro one is more "realistic/gritty", and the SH Figuarts one is more flashy. The muted tones and looser fit of the outfit makes the Hasbro one feel more grounded, which is cool. I like the Figuarts Tommy, but I love the Hasbro one.

Lightning collection wins by far!

The Hasbro definitely is the more bang for the buck in my opinion. And I like its scale more too. I know he's a teen, but maybe Tommy is a tall teen? (I did go to school with a cat who was 6`9" but I know that unusual) great video as usual!

I honestly wish Bandai could have held the PR license a bit longer as there's a bunch of characters I wish could have been made into Figuarts. Granted a lot of them HAVE been made in the Lightning Collection, but I would have liked them to be in scale with my other Figuarts.

If you need comparisons to the actual show, I’d say that the Hasbro one has a much better helmet sculpt (The Figuart has a much thinner visor, which is less screen accurate). And even with the hideous elbow joint on the Figuart, I think it makes the arm cuffs look a lot bigger and longer, which is more screen accurate.

Its pretty close if you take price out of it. But! But price points arent even close so hasbro takes this one. Hasbro has been doing so well the last couple years.

That ab crunch on the shf is doo doo. I remember when i was deciding which one to buy and the shf is too tiny, plus the marvel legends version is almost articulation heaven, i saved a lot of money for a figure that is actually better! Step your game up shf! I hope lightning collection does the original other rangers as well so i can get the blue and black rangers!

They both look great, but the figuarts one definitely looks more professional. Just ordered a figuarts one for $30 on bigbad and I'm excited to finally own a figuarts figure. My hasboro one has a terribly loose neck, is there anyway I can fix that?

IMO the joint parts on Lightning Collection look ugly given that much of exposed fulcrum all over limbs, albeit with better articulation. The figuarts on the other hand, has them hidden. But fairly speaking, the figuarts was released back in 2013, which made it almost a 10 year-old figure with old body mold. The recent release of figuarts line comes with better proportion and joints.

The Hasbro version is my favorite because of the unlimited articulation. You can move the legs on the Hasbro figure unlike the Figuarts the thighs don't have thigh or ankle pivot

personally, the hasbro joints are fugly with that peg hole on the side and they have the notch when you move them where it gets loose and floopy over time. msrp to msrp, it's $20 vs $40-45. you get a high quality figure that in the long run is a better investment. the new lightning series is a good deal however and a lot of people will like it because of price point. also keep in mind that the kibaranger/white ranger is based on the old proportion Bandai did for the Super Sentai. no idea if they will give Super Sentai the same treatment as the Kamen Riders with the shinkocchou seihou as Super Sentai popularity is not as high as Kamen Riders. btw, Bandai actually already made most of the Super Sentai figures.

When it comes to details figuarts takes it!! They have a lot of quality but hasbro is going in a great direction if they keep like this they can take the crown for this figures!! Great review

Is there something you can do to make the neck of hasbro a little taller?

I like comparisons like this but sometime I feel its unfair when doing so with a figure that costs less or more than the other. Its like comparing a Funko to a Nendoroid, that I've seen ppl do which is ridiculous to me. To me its always about price and accessibility. There are hobby shops in Hawaii that inflate the price for S.H Figuarts. There are also a few at Gamestops but nothing that really appealed me.

It's honestly surprising how the Figuarts weren't able to do realistic faces better considering how well they did on the Bruce Lee figure...normally they're the ones that do the more "realistic" look compared to Figma's more "anime" aesthetic.

Sigh. The figuarts were designed to be 5.5 inch, not 6. They weren't meant to scale with Hasbro's figures. Personally, I like the Figuarts version way more than the Hasbro, but you did bring up some fair points.

SH looks a bit lame compred to HASBRO, ain't gonna lie.

The figuarts is just too thin. I know it’s based on the Japanese suit actor, but as a representative of Tommy, which they marketed it as, it’s not the right build. The Hasbro one looks fantastic, and the detail in the suit is amazing, with the wrinkles and such. It’s also far more accurate to the show. Especially for the price point, Hasbro hands down. Also, I think with Hasbro buying Power Rangers, I don’t think you’ll see anymore Power Rangers from Bandai. Not sure about the Sentai rights, but yeah, no more PR stuff.
