I was once standing watch topside at Point Loma in San Diego and watched an OHP come into San Diego Bay under darken ship, no running lights and only the faintest hint of red lights from the bridge. Just a black warship shaped shadow gliding silently past the pier. It was both creepy and badass at the same time.
Love the old Oliver Hazard Perry's. They were known as the Adelaide Class in Australian service, and we only got rid of the last of them 4 years ago, sold 2 of them to Chile . 🇨🇱
I remember seeing a couple of Adelaide frigates in Freemantle when we pulled in in '05. They gave us a red kangaroo to slap on the side of our sail so green peace thought we were an Aussie sub 😅@@simonoconnor7759
Check out Dreamkid83 / Ryan Morris. Just posted a fantastic one about the soundtrack if vampires attacked a city in an 80s movie and the survivors start fighting back 😂
Have you thought about doing The Sixth Battle by Barret Tillman? That'll be my next one after I finish with Team Yankee. I think Tillman's book is closer to Red Army's style of just focusing on the hard combat rather than a military intelligence book with combat scenes like RSR
Seems like a lot of lights on for something that should be darkened ship. Ruining a lot of night vision that way. It looks cool, but even in peacetime that's not how it works.
