Great job, Sir! Keep up the fantastic work. Great information to pass on. Keep dropping these videos, man!!!! Just the littlest amount of weight will make a huge difference when you're carrying a saw around all day for sure. 🤩💯👍💪🔥
I've been told sugi hara Supplys the stihl light bars in NZ, makes sense if you put them in front of a high power light you can see the sugi hara marks under the stihl paint
Nice comparison. I prefer the X-Tough lightweight Husqvarna/Sugihara bars. They're extremely durable. I can feel the weight difference between them and the Oregon bars. Especially in 32in. Doesn't wear me out lugging the saw around all day. They're the only lightweight bars I haven't had issues with.
you should really check out the cannon duralites... by far the stiffest light bar on the market... Stihl es light bars are probably the lightest on the market... and I've never had a problem with them... I've found the Japanese bars are just to flexible for me
Tsumura was, for me, the entrance into the lightweight bar arena. I've been using a 24" on a 60cc saw for over three years, and I could not be happier with it. We have a lot of black locust where I live, and the bar has absolutely been put through the paces. Aside from normal wear/tear and maintenance measures, the bar has exceeded my expectations. For what it's worth, I like them. That said.....the price on them is higher than they used to be, sadly. For the money, I'd almost be inclined toward the Stihl lightweights, which are also fantastic bars. My only knock against the Stihl bars is the anorexic oil ports. But that's nothing a properly sized drill bit can't fix. Be well, all. Stay safe out there.
Thank you! I completely agree, 24" LW bar on a 60cc (ported 😁) saw is a dynamite package! I do favor the Stihl es light bars just a little bit more than the rest, but I know what you're saying, the prices on all of them are going through the roof. And yes, most of my bars have had some minor rotary tool work on the oil ports to open them just a bit. Stay tuned and Saw Safe!
I have a stihl 25” light on an 036. It’s not the fastest out there because it’s light on power but for bucking up your usual 12”-24” trees that make good firewood, it sure is nice. It balances out perfectly on the 036 and I assume it would on a 400 or 462. Those light bars make such a difference that I limb with a 25 instead of grabbing my 026 with a 16” bar because of the reach I have with it.
Yes, I'm with ya there! It's always nice to have a longer lightweight bar to reach! I typically run longer bars on all my saws, I just like it that way. Thank you for the comment! Saw Safe!
@@Kirks_Custom_Chainsaws my next saw is an 064 and I was trying to decide on what bar to put on it. Probably going with a sugihara 32” after watching your video. Thanks for the great info
Sugi bars are where it’s at , I have several Husqvarna branded Sugi bars. I’ve exploded a few tips on tsumura bars when I really didn’t think they should have . I have been waaaay more mean to my Sugi bars and they look new , in reality they likely have hundreds of hours on them.
I can add 2 to your database. You didn't mention gauge. 24" .050 guage husky mount versacut 2lbs 8.63 oz 28" neotec .058 gauge husky mount light bar 3 lbs 1.9 oz
Yes, you probably can’t see it in the video, but I have opened up the oil port in several of my bars. It definitely helps. Not too much, but about 1.5x the stock oil port seems to work well. Hope this helps! Good luck & Saw safe!
Great informative video! I own a tree service business and cut production timber. I run the Stihl light bars, and Sugihara/Husqvarna light bars. The Sugihara is a much better quality bar over the Stihl for everyday use. Even tho the weight is a little more, the tradeoff is worth it. I just ordered a Tsumura Premium Light bar in 32", and I'm anxious to see how it holds up. As far as lightweight vs standard weight bars go, guys that are breaking the light bars are terribly hard on their saws, and everything is breaking on them. If given the option, lightweight is the only way to go.
Thank you Mitch! Very well said! I completely agree, I’m definitely a fan of the lightweight bars. And you’re absolutely right about the abuse… guys that destroy their bars typically destroy everything and ask questions like: “How did my intake boot get torn, I was just bucking some firewood???” Yeah, ok😂😂😂 Thx again man, btw; I really like your 572xp vs ms462 vid.👍🏻. I have both saws and I’ll be porting them as soon as I slow down a little bit! Saw Safe man!👍🏻
@@Mr_CleanIt depends on where your at Suigihara and Tsumura both make the LW bars for Husqvarna saws but Total before they went to Tsumura was the original company that started the LW bars for Husqvarna and Jonsered
I don’t believe I’ve seen any lightweight bars in any saw shops except for the Stihl es light bars. All of my lightweight bars including the Stihl es light bars, I ordered and had shipped to me. Saw safe!
But Stihl rollmatic es light is not solid like rest of them Its laminate and hollow inside. Stihl always like to be unfair with everybody weight if that bar is small but not that durable like husky or sugahar or tsumura or even gb titanium.
Thank you for your comment.👍🏼 Personally, I have had very good luck with the stihl light es bars. I will definitely be keeping an eye on them though. Thank you for the information !👍🏼
I just put a 28" bar on my saw, just wondering what these would weigh with the chain on them, or how much the bar and chain combo ads to the weight. I Know mine takes a 0.063 chain with 92DL
I’m not really sure to be honest. I would have to weigh the chains themselves. It would be interesting to see the difference in weight of each gauge. I’ll have to pull some of my chains together and weigh them. Same DL count, just different gauge; .050”, .058”, & .063”. See if there is any noticeable difference. Thanks for commenting! Saw safe!
I have not had any issues with them in bore cuts. I always keep good sharp chains and let it work itself through the bore cut and all good👍🏻 thank you for commenting!
@@Kirks_Custom_Chainsaws dang I have and of course my chains are sharp but maybe the rakers a bit low. I figured the floppyness of em had something to do with it. Honestly I have no problem bore cutting with my 28 inch light bar from still but forget about it with the 36 inch.
yeah, 36” light bar is reaching out there for a bore cut. I’ve done it with my 36” husky x-tough light bar without issue, but again, my rakers were not overly aggressive on that chain
Yes it is… in the USA. I’ve been told that the husky lightweight bars in Europe are manufactured by Tsumura. I’m not in Europe, so I cannot confirm this, but that is what I’ve been told.
Third Generation tree guy here. Been climbing 35 plus years. I have used every saw, every bar and chain combo any one can ever imagine. Don't waste you money on any of that crap they bend and wear just as fast as any other. The sugi and the husky are the same its made buy sugi hara. Worst bar I ever bought have had four of them for some reason there junk. Just buy the recommended Bar and chain and save some money. Never noticed the difference in actual use in alight bar compared to light bar.
Hey Dave, thanks for the comment and your professional opinion. Always good to hear several different experiences. As you can see by my collection of lightweight bars in this video, I've already wasted my money 🤣🤣 All kidding aside, I use plenty of my standard bars as well, but I do prefer the lightweight bars for my work. Don't forget to subscribe, stay tuned and Saw Safe!
Me to 30 years in tree work..light is better for me at least I'm older and 160 pounds with hernia and torn scrotum. And much more wounds the weight is everything. I like stihl and tsumura best stihl being #1..good bar maintenance and file them down once while mine last several years. I see you have about 1200 in bars there.i understand. I do need a 28 stihl light dealers out always .seen them on line marked up 30 bucks from already High price.the regular bars are heavy good for firewood and stumps..though..thanks
@@Sethhaun78thank you for commenting! Very good points you make there. The Stihl bars are definitely more expensive, if I recall, I believe I bought “open box” on both of mine for a pretty good discount (still expensive though 😂) Thanks again, Saw Safe!👍🏻
@@_JamesBrown not sure if your comment was directed at me or one of the other commenters, but I’ll do my best to help ya out there buddy!👍🏻 so you should buy what you are most comfortable with as far as reviews and pricing. If you’re asking me what I want you to buy, I will never tell anyone what they should buy. I will only explain my experiences and my preferences. If you watch the video, at 12:35 I clearly state my preference on these bars. I hope this helps. Saw Safe man!
😩😩 Crying about it might make you feel better! 🤣🤣J/K.... I don't make the bars man, I just did a review/comparison on them with weights, and wanted to put some good information out there for people who may be interested. Not everyone can use a lightweight bar, ya kinda have to understand what ya got to use it to your benefit. 😉👍🏻 Saw Safe!
