For me, Tim Allen will always be Buzz Lightyear and the movie ‘Buzz Lightyear of star command’ which came out in 2000 is what Andy saw in the theatre that made him love the character in the original Toy Story.

They shouldn’t have modernized this movie. Toy Story came out in the 90’s and the movie that inspired the Buzz Lightyear figure should’ve had an 80’s/90’s feel.

For all the people that want a gritty western woody origin story, we literally see what woody is based on in toy story, woody’s roundup

Now I’m hoping for a Woody spin-off. Who should we get to voice him? I’m thinking Austin Butler since he’s in the new Elvis movie with Tom Hanks and he could have a good range to voice a Clint Eastwood-like character.

Holy shit, who ever knew that Johnny boy had a twin brother?!

I saw it today and for me it absolutely delivers. It is honestly one of the bext Pixar movies they have done in a long time and way better than Toy Story 4. The action scenes with Zurg were absolutely stellar in Imax 3D. The twist was really cleaver and if I watched this as kid I would absolutely want a toy based of this movie, I would have been obsessed with this as a kid. It reminded me a lot of Treasure Planet meets Interstellar meets the opening from Toy Story 2. I would give it a solid 9/10. I don't get how some people on the internet are already bashing it.

Is it as good as the 90s Buzz Lightyear movie/TV show?

Chris Evans has been explaining what the movie is. So it’s not really a secret. It actually makes me want to go see it now.

I always thought they recasted Buzz with Chris Evans because this Lightyear is based on a in universe real person (from an event or tv show), and many times the toys and actors don't use the same voice. Like the marvel toys with voices, won't always have the real actors to voice the toy. So my guess was the toy has Tim Allen and real person is Chris Evans. BUT that can be wrong if Disney makes a Woody movie and not recast Tom Hanks, then only proving that Disney hates Conservative actors as much as the S(lave) word (ironic)

I'd like to imagine that if a Woody movie gets made, it'd be more or less an animated movie done in the timeframe of when Woody's Roundup came out, seeing as it took place (or debuted, rather, according to TS2) before the space race. So maybe like a 50's/60's animated movie, the whole story could be that Walt Disney adapted Woody's Roundup around that time. Make it traditionally animated, too.

Is anyone surprised and why do people keep supporting these franchises? Lightyear, Jurassic Park 6, the MCU bulls@@@, Fast and the Furious 9 and so on. There's a reason why American movies have been trash for the last 15 yearsm or so, we need to move on from these same old franchises and force Hollywood to take more chances.
